Ducks are in my wheel-house! I’ve been in a duck blind every winter since I was 12. I’ve trained all my dogs myself, build my blinds myself, and hunt on Indian Land - (I’m on the rolls). This is awesome
I picked up a box of Remington Speed Shok 3" #4 steel shot that say 1450fps on the box recently ( $19.99 for 25 shells. ) I gotta say, they actually kick a bit more than the 3 inchers I'm used to. Not terrible but...Might wanna give those a try.
Man I remember during the summer of love 2020, I stocked up on 12g ammo and walmart had those speed shok cases (4 x 25) for around 40$. Times have certainly changed.
Lol. Tried those hyper steel in my browning maxus semi auto. Wow ! Thought the bolt was going to come out the back of the receiver 😆. Needless to say , still have 23 in the box left.
I took some buddies out shooting for there first time and I put 2 shells of that Remington nitro steel mixed in the magazine and they sure felt that kick in there shoulder when those nitro steels went off , good stuff 👍🏽
I love when advertisers give credibility info on their packaging, its gives their product that edge to stand out amongst their competitors, while at the same time, word of mouth will push it off the shelves!
Remington have been making "accelerator" loads for decades, nice video I still have accelerator loads for my 30/30 Marlin lever action. Think the .223 rounds inside the .30 caliber sabot is so fast it is hard to use same zero on scope when using normal 30/30 loads
Awesome video, thank you. I'd love to know how far out they'd be when they drop to 1200 fps Just can't find me a 3.5" gun second hand in Australia, I'll keep looking till I'm 65. We've got the triple barrel in a 3.5" but new they're $2500. No pumps or autos for us.
@@judgementgaming3270 most are max 3inch but there are a few waterfowl models like browning cynergy or yildiz waterfowl. But they aren't common as most people use a pump or auto. Im guessing its an import and local restrictions issue in Aus making it harder for him.
@@Lethal_Intent that's pretty much it. I found one 2 years ago on the other side of the country but when I called him he said it was a mistake, it was a 3". It's about $800 or $1000 to import a gun from the states but I just don't earn enough money to justify it. I've got a 3" leaver action and a 3" Savage 212 bolt action. All in all I'm pretty happy with what we can do hear, yer it's not as free as the 1990's where but still a lot better than many of other countries. Long live the king 🇺🇲
Do a drop test on that stuff I load shell all the time by hand to make sense if what I'm saying take 1 pellet from regular old shot lead shot and take 1 steel bbs which is 5 times larger but only like a quarter of the weight you have to get fast to get distance from that steel plus it's hard on your barrel and also my single shot takes up to 3 and a half shells but if I give it a regular diet of shorter shells it's gets the awful ring before the chamber ends and with steel shot it dinged up the chamber end I would like to see a drop on that fast steel shot though I only load with black powder it's safer when experimenting

I use this pad with heavy .45-70 handloads in a 7 lb lever gun. Use with 12 gauge 3" turkey loads and buckshot as well as slugs out of a 6.5 pound shotgun. Can shoot for hours at the range and not get a sore shoulder afterwards. Worth every penny I paid for it. Very comfortable to wear, good fit and easy to adjust for size.
Talk about some hellacious home defense ammo 💥. I shot an old 70s Hotpoint refrigerator we had lying around with that stuff. It went all the way through and ripped the condenser coil off the backside it's nasty stuff.
And well for shot, of you want the most, o still think 8 GA has that beat, haha, but for way more common stuff, though 3 1/2” is a less common one these days, for chambers.
Ive always sworn by these but honestly did not expect them to actually go 1700+ fps. Great video as always! P.s. try shooting those hypersonics in BB those really got all the beans

Food for thought regarding the crono. Set up a steel target top level with the top of the crono, and leave enough room in between for a camera to watch it?
Honestly was not expecting the speed of them, the rest worked how ammo always does, 50 or more fps lower than stated, but actually above given speed? Crazy, never shot those ones, maybe I’ll have to get me a box or two. I can’t remember the maker, but the magnum turkey loads was my go to, for high power shot before, older stuff, lead shot, can still find and like 1 1/4 oz load at like 1500-1600 fps. Honestly is a great goose load. Of course the stated velocity from whatever barrel length, is usually a damn near proof loading, of not that, or even above at times in the past to get that velocity. So definitely surprised to see above the stated, in a normal, for sale round, that is presumably safe for continuous use in firearms, or they wouldn’t sell it this day and age, with all the sue happy shits out there. I know people say and myself included not to use shot, unless the buck type for self defense, but that loading, would definitely work at in home ranges, if that’s all you got, that speed and 1 and 3/8 oz shot. I would use the turkey loads, of all I had and feel pretty comfortable at close range. Still don’t recommend at all, but those two would be the best bird shot you could use for that. Haha, and I think those turkey loads are Remington if I remember right now that I think about it.
Very awesome rounds! I'm sure you can knock down a lot of ducks with that stuff. Wouldn't want to see you waste good hunting ammo on skeet unless it's 2 or 3 shots only to figure out how much your lead is. The next couple videos should be pistol related to give your shoulder a break.
Wow crazy fast 😜 You should do a video of a reloading video for 12 gauge and show how inexpensive it is to reload 12 gauge or if you can't get a hold of 12 gauge Bad thing right now is trying to find primers and powder
I've got a Goose gun, 12 ga., 34 inch barrel full choke 3.5 inch magnums and you'll only want to shoot it once. Especially with that 1700+ ft per second stuff. But you can reach out and get something.
Lol man these shells kick like hell!,,, i had a few boxes of these hyper sonics 3.5” and 3” shells,,, and i shot them all through my mossberg 535,,,, after multiple shots the 3.5” always knocked the butt stock bolt loose that holds it against the receiver,
This be a word of caution with high velocity shotgun loads, especially those loaded with small shot or with steel shot. Think of wading up a threatening letter from the IRS and throwing it hard toward the dustbin. Now think of just wading it up the same way and just calmly tossing it to the dustbin. How far you throw it is not much improved by throwing it hard. That is because the ballistic coefficient of the missile is so very poor. The same principle applies to shot. A 7 1/2 or 8 lead pellet from a "Hi-Speed' fast load, circa 1975 or so, was not going noticeably faster out where the clay bird was than an ordinary trap load. Furthermore, the higher velocity nearer the muzzle added to the tendency of the shot charge to separate sooner and closer to the muzzle and to distort more with each yard out. The end result was a lower trap score. I am not aware of those ultra- velocity factory trap loads even being available in modern times. The same principle applies to steel shot in proportions inverse to the size of the shot. A steel BB would hit the goose harder, all other factors equal, than a number 2. A number 4 or 6 should be a head shot only at any range beyond very short. Just jacking up the muzzle velocity has returns that predictably diminish in direct proportion to how much it is jacked up. Now here is the trick to getting higher velocity with steel shot out where the big honkers are flying. You use BB's in one of those Flitestopper wads or a 3 1/2-inch Black Cloud shell that holds the shot in a container until it is ten to twenty yards out. That will also keep your pattern tight for longer-range effectiveness. Another tactic is to peculate the children's milk money to buy a box of shells that use heavier metal.
I think your explanation makes sense. Ultimately, regardless of the theory, you should pattern your shotgun and load and choke combo on paper to know its capabilities prior to hunting at the ranges you intend to shoot.
I have a Remington 870 that I was hunting for deer with 3 inch magnum slugs. Had my brother to shoot it and he didn't hold it tight enough the scope blacked his eye. I told it had a bad kick to it......HaHaHa!!!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
The box says those shells held 1 3/8 oz. of shot. With a muzzle velocity of 1769 FPS that works out to 4177 Ft. Lbs. of energy, no wonder they were knocking the snot out of you. That is roughly one and a half times a 30-06.
Not going to lie. Wa NOT expecting that from those hypersonic rounds. I was personally thinking it was going to be a hair under (like 1650 fps) and the consistency from them.. WOW! How do you think they do for accuracy? Comparable to the "traditional" rounds? or better, maybe worse?
I saw these last year at Bass Pro. 3" still shows 1700. I was afraid to put that in my Maverick. Not for the recoil but maybe too much pressure for the gun. 🤤 Anyone shoot these out of a Maverick or a 500 yet?
Too bad the only boxes of these I saw were 40 dollars a box and now you cant buy them anywhere here in Montana. Wish you would have tested the Winchester 3 and 3.5s at 1550 and 1625fps I have been shooting them for years and they just plain work!
