The Vette crowd has to try to embarrasse somebody. & it's gonna look even worse for the Vette, to try to do it to Hellcat/Redeye, since they are log wagons with pwr.... So the GT500, as both an agile track weapon, & drag strip/flying mile terror- @$76k base MSRP, is the best chance they got of makin a Vettes composite body, mid Eng sports car, look good... 😆

Turbo s will win. The Z06 is the pinnacle of Naturally aspirate Rwd, the 911 is aimed at being as efficient as possible with its AWD. Its not a fair matchup on paper, yet the Z06 is still brilliant enough to keep up. It hardly loses

@@skylerhickman3646 the Z06 is a track slayer, a Turbo S while being good on the track comes nowhere close on road courses like VIR. The Turbo S is focused on luxury and sheer acceleration while still not sacrificing handling much

@Predator Shelby If you go to PBD videos from 2 years back they have a gt500's with bolt ons and pump 93 making 860 wheel and 900+ on pump E85. Not hating on the new Zo6 it's a bad azz NA car.

E60, big gulp, kooks, ported tb, lower pulley, tune. New setup after exceeding fueling is a cam and ported sc. we'll c Saturday what it does.

Umm he did not smoke it. The gt500 has a higher trap therefore it is the faster car, the z06 is quicker but that's different, and just because it launches better. If you were rolling down the highway at 60 the gt500 would say byeeee. I mean come on what do you expect from something that has less torque than a regular c8 smh

You have to understand that a second he stop will the gt500 is moving is a lot of work to get back. You have to start match and pass the speed then start gaining.

I think that's a smart decision considering how big of a difference that Z07 package makes, hopefully you can get you hands on one soon! I'm sure all the carbon will hold its value better as well

@@lvonnifletch4168 His comment is so confusing...it isn't like the GT500 is a fucking honda civic, it's a $100k+ (realistically about $120k~ to get one) track weapon and it's in the relative same ballpark of cost as the C8 Z06 yet not in the same ballpark of performance. The C8 Z06 is just a flat out better sportscar and is the first corvette to make a solid case for being an actual supercar.

Corvette always performed well on a drag strip . Some years it was the faster car than most others . Corvettes are light and it helps them out in straight line performance. The only real competition for the vettes in the past was the AC Cobras ,GT 40s ,GT Ford and more recently the Vipers , I always considered these to be track cars . And they are all bad ass in my book . Comparing “muscle” cars to any of them ??? I’m just not in tune with that . I mean I see guys building 2,500 hp Donks that kill hellcats , ZL 1 , GT 500 , . A person would be hard pressed to find anything like that setting records at a road course

Why are you wanting that comparison? The two cars are not in the same class. AWD versus RWD; Twin turbo versus NA? Its silly. If you want to compare Corvette versus Porsche it should be C8 Z06 versus 911 GT3 RS.
