This project was awarded to AFCONS in the year 2005. The project was managed by Konkan Railway Corporation after it's success of Konkan Railway. Initially there were many security issues and later many technical issues also were there. Despite all these challenges Afcons has done a very good job and all credit should go to the Afcons team and not any politicians.
