The first yellow Delta 750 tractor was a Rite by Curtis built in Great Falls Montana for Wayne Arrison of Bassano Alberta. I watched some of the build process , the fenders are 3/8 thick steel and it was quite a machine. The first farm tractor that had that tire size which were actually forestry tires.

I think the land in Australia would benefit from having some of those big tractors going along plowing up the grass land so the fires would not spread over the grass to the next forest

How come farmers don't use this type of plow any more. In my area the farmers use doc's to plow there fields?

Lots of great power here and my neighbor owns one of those 1950 Oliver's... they are a beast and you can here the diesel engine bellering about a mile and a half away!

@@ThatOliverGuyChris Back in the mid 1960s my Papaw and uncles used John Deere 70s, 560s and M Farmalls. A neighbor farmer used big Olivers and M Moline tractors. Sometimes Papaw and he would trade work depending on ground dryness and what was needed to be done. Our family thought his big Olivers and M Moline were huge and powerful. Still remember his tractors. As a kid I liked the colours of the M Molines the most.

Deep plowing, but seems crazy to bury all the topsoil. They do it in Holland on reclaimed poulders to get the better richer subsoil up to the surface to grow better crops on en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_plowing

These tractors are out on the Plains perfect level ground smooth running I'd like to see one of them pulling a 14 or 16 foot heavy rome dics with 36 inch blades in the palmetto woods they wouldn't last a hr

From what I understand...they use those deep plows to bring up the deep soils to mix with the top soil...it would seem that its done more often in Scandinavian countries ...hope that helps

Many years ago I saw a farming article where a flood had deposited sand on a field and one of these plows was used to put the topsoil back on top. Field was near Manhattan, Kansas, I believe.

Why is the deep plowing done? I have never seen it in Sweden, so I just wonder. I would be grateful for an answer.

@@makingithappen9722 And the real reason it is done is because it is land reclaimed from the sea and although very fertile, also contains salts. The only way to deal with that is to bury it and bring up a deeper layer, which usually contains sand and that helps make the soil more manageable too. It is related to reclaimed land and flood prone land.
