Just showed this to my 95 year old grandpa who carried an M1 in Korea. He says he wishes he had that Garand when he served. He also said that an M1 doesn’t seem like the kind of gun a rapper would use.

Ah yes, the EBR Garand that grandpa was using in WW2’s JSOC with a red dot, a PEQ 15, and obviously a polymer clip which instead of going « ding » on the last round, sounded more like « plop ».

It's like witnessing a train crash in slow motion. It's absolute carnage and the most horrific event, but also strangely fascinating and impossible to look away from.

It seems to me that the main problem with the M1 Malone is the bolt. The feeding and extraction specifically. I think once that’s fixed it could be really cool.

I love my Garand and would never dream of modifying one that hadn't already been bubba'd but if they got the bugs worked out this would be pretty cool. Theres no way I'd turn down the chance to shoot it, especially at some hogs!

Imagine great grandpa charging over the berm with his all black anodized aluminum garand, complete with a quad rail, night optics, and ir laser.

When I first saw it, I was hoping they had BM59ed it so it would run with detachable box mags...unfortunately all they did was graft some cosmetic stuff on it. Sooo, I guess GT would despise mine as well. When I was shooting for the TXARNG, we had an "in" at Anniston and I bought a "rack grade less wood" which was actually "selected" for me by said "in". I spent the eight-dollar difference (with what I saved deleting the wood) on a Bell & Carlson fibreglas stock and had a well-known Garand collector do a trigger job and glas-bed the workin's into the B&C stock. Then I installed: an Ulti-Mak scout mount with Leatherwood 2-7X LER optic in QD rings, an adjustable gas screw, a pop-on comp, an NM rear sight, a KenSight tritium front sight, and replaced the issue sling loops and stacking swivel with a rear swivel stud, two forward studs in the forearm, so I can use QD swivels and a bipod. I can go prone or bench the gun and with genuine M72 or my SMK clone that I call M72LR, the drop marks in the Leatherwood give me serviceable torso hits, right on the marks, clear out to 700M. I've named the rifle "M1-E" bcz my initial sniper school and some of my early competitions were with the C and D and this piece is better than either. And just so y'all can hate me a bit more, I've also modernized two M1 Carbines and they will each stay on an E silhouette, as fast as I can dump the mags, at 300M from prone/bipod with issue ball or my JHP or ball handloads.

As much as it surprises me, I actually kind of dig it. What would be cool is if these were made with brand new actions instead of modifying old ones.

I like that "Give your battle buddy some ammo" feature on the Post Garand.

Looks like it was drilled for an M1c scope monting base. Not really bubba-ed unless they screwed up drilling the holes. Some CMP rifles came with either plugs in the screw holes or the mounting base installed.

What I’ve found with aluminum chassis being in a colder climate is difficult, because the metal likes to pull heat, even with gloves typically hands can get cold in minutes

I like that it’s shorter and suppressed but still sounds loud as hell. On camera it seems louder like it has a muzzle brake and redirecting to the side and rearward. The powder seems to be going everywhere instead straight forward on the reg garand.

This might be the clone trooper fan in me, but I dig it! Has a nice silhouette. It's like you put a Garand through a tactical AI filter :D

If you are going to have a quad rail on a garand, might as well fit a grenade launcher on there. the allies used rifle grenades during the war, but they had to hand load blanks that came with the grenades. having the launcher be a tube under the barrel would have saved a lot of time

The trigger "creep", as you called it, is actually the first stage of the original 2-stage trigger system used on the Garand & M14/M1A. I may be an NRA/CMP match trigger with a combined, 1st & 2nd stage, pull, just under the regulated 4.5# for the Service Rifles.

the M1 Garand is an absolutely gorgeous gun. My personal drawback is obviously the lack of a pistol grip which to me is more stable. So the "Malone version" really gets there. But it really lacks the elegance of a Garand. It needs the wood finish, but it needs to be more uniform. I think I can picture in my head a modernized Garand for the pistol grip, that would keep the elegance at the same time. to do this, you need to make the grip into the stock, kind of like the P90, but an aesthetic of a Dragonov. So all of it smoothly forms to the long barrel of the Garand itself. I think it would be nice

Quite a few malfunctions, put some work into the bolt carrier Couple jams jams.But definitely shoots fast and better grouping. The older grand had a different barrel different type steel cooled fast in cold weather.

Up to this point, I always felt the M14 EBR was the most cursed Garand (though to be fair I do love the M14, especially the older variants)...this this video turned up. Still a very capable weapon though. I reckon it would still make a good DMR. I wonder how .30-06 compares with .308. The .30-06 does seem to have better ballistics if my solver adds up, though the .308 has a habit of retaining more energy beyond about 400m depending on ammo type.

Such a beautiful top loading EBR. Jokes aside I always love the self release of the Garand's block clip when emptied.

Definitely cutting the barrel and throwing in a reddot is definitely an improvement. The automatic disassembling trigger group is also a big bonus

This neo retro weapon system design is an interesting study in historical development and observing if there are any lessons to be learned. At the very least, it's really cool to see where some of our modern developments originated from.

I was deciding on what i wanted to put on my m1 garand tanker in 30.06 but i chose the bm59 folding stock and put a amega m1 garand mount on it and i love it but i wouldn't mind the ebr stock still
