Donald Osborne, a world class Gentleman who has the magnificent talent of drawing his audience into an amazingly tangible/vicarious experience with the depth of his knowledge, his driving skill, and humble yet deft ability to communicate with balanced passion, humor and sincerity. I truly appreciate you Donald, a refreshing dose of class and style in a world that's quickly losing it's cool.
Donald . Listening to you waxing lyricals is rather like listening to your favourite record . You never tire of it ! Those tyres look ridiculously thin , l've seen wider on off road bicycles ! Have to say l'm really not a Porsche enthusiast but it is a icon . That photo of the white roadster ....gosh , it was horrible ! Glad they changed their mind on that one ! Regarding the colour on the left door . I've no doubt that it matched perfectly when it came back from the bodyshop but reds always tone down over a couple of days . If you wish to keep the provenance then leave it but "If " you want it corrected a reputable bodyshop can use a spectrograph that will analyse the pigments that will give the correct colour which may be a non Porsche colour. I restored a 1966 mini Cooper "s" sometime back and the exact match was a Lada Blue ! ( Lada is /was an eastern European manufacturer ) . Always a pleasure to see you enjoying your work Donald ! Thankyou .
That's the roadster for you Donald. Suits you perfectly. Evenings out would require a much different type of conveyance. Perhaps a vehicle from the Mansion series. Cheers Donald. 🇨🇦
Bought my first 356 while I was in high school, think it cost me $500,brazed in new floor pans, rebuilt the carburetors, cleaned the heck out of it and sold it for a tidy profit.May have bought and sold a dozen or so more and that was when people always gave me crap about them being "glorified VWs"...some of the best automobiles ever made!
Good video. I like that you show more shots of the car with the info. I would like to see more shots of the engine and underside mechanicals with your extensive information.
A friend who was a Porsche expert, restorer and rebuilder owned one and asked me to follow him on a drive to the beach (78 mi) just in case. Sure enough, the car broke down. Got a LOT of attention on the side of the road waiting for the tow truck. There weren't any cell phones then and I had a car phone.
It might be rude to talk about the original price of a Corvette,Porsche and Mercedes in 1955....... but the history is definitely worth never forgetting! What kind of puppy? I imagine you with a corgi or a Manchester terrier?!? ;) a boxer or Bulldog would just be too easy
The original tire size was 5.60-15 on 4.5" wheels as I recall. The modern equivalent would be 155-15. Remember that the car only weighed about 1600 pounds.
Can anyone help with this question? How come this channel just doesn't get the views other car channels do? He even brought on Jay Leno to help with the view count. I instantly subscribed to his channel. I just don't understand why the audience just doesn't carry through. It's not Donald, everybody loves Donald, the cool class act. Any ideas?
You seem to be to only American who can pronounce the name Porsche correctly. {almost everytime ;-)} The motor hood seems to have overpainted rust. Bad restauration.
Donald is a accomplished opera singer and to me it's fresh sandpaper applied to my inner ear. All Opera. But my friend Donald can sing we just can't appreciate it I guess. 🎶
