Pop is the 56 speedie freak. He has been offered up to a million dollars for his and he turns it down. Was offered 500k for it just after it was out of paint as it sat on the rack. It was I know over 10 coats of diamond black, and that color is sexy on the flawless curves of the 356a. That was the 90's when he did the restoration on it. He's been into the speedster craze since before I was even a twinkle in his eye. Was part of the racing them from Indianapolis to PIR in Phoenix. If you are a Porsche nut like he is I wouldn't be surprised if you were aquatinted with pop. He's got a collection that even sienfeld would be proud of. And now he's started the McLaren collection phase.
I'd love to own , drive , have this car as an everyday driver car . It would be wonderful to drive on weekends up into the arkansas Ozarks and the Ouachita mtns as well . But i am by no means a man of wealth .
Quick question for You?? How much would it cost to buy a 1967 or 1970 Porsche Karmann Ghia Hardtop that’s an Automatic Transmission???? I know that almost ALL of them were Manual Transmission. Now I’ve been told by a couple of people who said it should run Me anywhere between $1,600.00-$2,200.00. Now I myself find that a bit on the low side for a Porsche. So the only other question I would add to that would be I thought Porsche’s were worth a Ton of money?????
I also am in LOVE with the Classic 1951 Ford Coupe with Automatic Transmission. I would LOVE to get all of these cars the 1967 Porsche Karmann Ghia, Porsche Carrera S, a Volkswagen Bug with Automatic Transmission, and the 1951 Ford Coupe with Automatic Transmission and have them ALL converted to full 100% Electric!!!!!!!
Were the Karmann Ghia’s not built sturdy enough???? Did they have serious issues with rusting???? Now don’t get Me wrong I love Porsche 911 S Carreras as well. I think that’s how You spell that anyways.
Ya committed the ultimate sin and called a VW a Porsche 🙀 Luckily they are both Ferdinand creations. The karman ghia wasn't a highly produced model compared to the beetle and if my memory is correct the body's were built at the same location as the 356 and other model of the Porsche. And as far as automatic in a sports car goes, it's not highly regarded by the hardcore Motörheads out there.
