Well i was quoting the manufacture so i guess that makes sense, it did start a fire and ignite an explosion so its cool for sure !!, we use it with diffusers and filters for special FX.

yeah you must wear the red glasses or a pair of maui jims ...lol, just looking at the dot from this laser with screw up your eyes, it emits a ton of infrared light, you'll be damaging your eyes without realizing it.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ No infrared on a visible diode laser like this. Infrared is typical on 532nm diode pumped systems ONLY if they are not properly filtered.

This isn't the 2W version, the battery symbol on it and the overall length means it is closer to 1W. The newer 2W version has a bigger heat sink and has the smart switch with low, medium and high power, and a couple other features. The 2W Arctics have a little lightning bolt near the power LEDs.

This isnt even close to worlds strongest handheld laser but it still isnt a toy. Its a Class IV laser meaning serious eye damage if direct reflection

Always always ALWAYS !!! Wear high quality safety glasses rated for lasers. You can be permanently blinded in a fraction of a second and even looking at what the laser is illuminating will do eye damage.

worked with a 400Gw laser for a bit, had to use a tungsten hood to use the laser since it quite litteraly melted steel, was about 5 kilos in weight so it wasn't exactly portable but if you were man enough to carry it then you were man enough to use it I guess

I'm thinking cloud writing would be cool. If you look on RU-vid for Air France Laser you can see where they did just that, pretty cool. Of course you have to have some programable hardware that can rapidly steer the beam.
