Brush fire might be from a lightening strike which caused trees to catch fire . Some amazing feats of engineering here,those tunnels where built during the British days as of course they wanted to transport tea down to Colombo port and out to sea.Originally the idea was to grow coffee beans but that failed due to blight so the switch was made to tea,which is much hardier and isnt seasonal producing year round.The reason why lots of Tamils are in this region is that they are the descendants of those brought over by the British as the local Sinhalese population refused to do this work as a kind of protest against being occupied.The British have long gone ,now the plantations are owned by SLankans but they have mostly kept the old British names.
Hi when you show the ticket/reservations for the odyssey, at the railway station do they issue you individual tickets? the normal cardboard printed tickets? Thank you.
Hi, they issue a paper printed ticket with booking details in it. The one with slt mobitel advertisment. Also, for example, if you have reserved seats for 3 people, they only issue one paper printed ticket with all the seat details.
@@mr.traveler97 Thanks for the Reply, I booked 8 tickets from Mount Lavinia Station. When we are back to Colombo, some people whom I reserved tickets will complete the destination before me. But if there is a single paper printed they will not have a ticket to show, this is the problem I am facing. I called Mount Lavinia station and they said they will issue individual tickets so I wanted to confirm someone who actually took the trip.
