Kuala Lumpur Built the World's Second Tallest Skyscraper
You probably know that the Burj Khalifa in Dubai holds the title for the world's tallest skyscraper. This massive tower reaches 828.8 meters, setting a record that nobody seems likely to beat soon. But have you heard about the second tallest building? A while back, the Shanghai Tower, standing at 632 meters, held that second place spot. But in 2023, it got bumped down to third place.
The new second tallest skyscraper is Merdeka 118, located in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. At 678.9 meters, it's much shorter than the Burj Khalifa, but it's enough to take Shanghai Tower's spot. If you're into skyscrapers, keep an eye on this new giant as they wrap up construction.
