Me and my friends have been doing a "boss mode" like this for a while, an OP spirit for it is "full armor X" from megaman x, it gives super armor on all moves without limiting speed, thought you might like that (combine with victini for hyper fast/strong smash attacks)

One of the favorite things I've done back on Sm4sh was when I had 5 players so it was slightly awkward we'd have four Toon Links at 75% handicap against one Ganondorf. It was great.
