Even though you know in your head how big these trees are, NOTHING prepares you for the thrilling experience of standing next to one of those giants in person. You feel like a guppy next to a blue whale! I may never get back, but I visited the Redwoods in both Yosemite & the groves on the coast. I spent one summer with my sister in Gardnerville Nevada, & we got to do some sightseeing then, & also when my mom came to pick me up. My sis, her young family and I did a day trip to Yosemite. It is truly spectacular - in every sense of the word. There's so much to see. When we left at sunset, the setting sun lit up Half Dome and it looked exactly like it was made out of gold! Another time when I was coming down from Lake Tahoe one night, I had the opportunity to see the stars without light pollution & without 5000 ft of atmosphere. There were so many more that were visible because of that, & they were so much clearer than I had ever seen - you felt almost like you could reach up and pull diamonds from the sky! Yosemite should be on everybody's bucket list. And no matter where you go to see them, the Giant Redwoods and Sequoias are a definite must-do.
Nature offers us truly unique beauties. Each of these trees is a living history. Another great video that makes me feel like I'm walking around trees. Gorgeous sharing! 🥰👌🌲
So true Melisa, Nature is always full of surprises. These trees are over 1,000 years old, it is fascinating! Thank you so much my dear, I really appreciate your comments.
Went and saw both grant and the monarch, it started raining heavily so my wife and I took shelter in the monarch, it was beautiful and we had the area all to ourselves because of the rain. I’ll never forget get it. It was almost like ancient giant living things give off a type of relaxation, making you feel humble and small. If you go there you’ll understand.
We loved our trip here in 2012. We didn't film anything back then. We will have to get back. Thank you for so much great information and for sharing your memories with us.
This is fantastic you have visited it Kay. The Sequoia trees are such an iconic part of the West, we are so thankful to have seen them. Thank you so much!
once again a great video and excellent recordings. big like for you. Unfortunately the weekend is already over. I wish you a nice start into the week and stay healthy.
Redwood and Sequoia trees are amazing! And really fun to visit for the whole family. It is hard to beat walking through a log. I hope you can see them someday.
Wow, what incredible commentary - everything you'd need to know about the tree (and the trail)! Was supposed to have visited this area last month. Cancelled due to the wildfires. Hope to get back next summer. You guys are building so many wonderful memories!
Little man with so cute back then! He still is of course but he was so tiny! I've visited this area before and the walkthrough tree is really cool! Amazing job on Evans part for bringing old footage back to life! Cool video guys and thanks for bringing me back 😀.
So glad you've been on this trail Eric, it is worth it! Ah ah, the giant tree make Little Man so much more little 😊 I think he was a big young to really appreciate how unique there are. We will need to bring him back there again. Thank you so much for always being a great support!
I sure wish I would have made a side trip last year when I was at Sequoia National Park. Those trees look amazing and must be spectacular up close. I agree with Lance - it would be spectacular to see the park with snow. Thanks for sharing your hike!
That was unbelievable, what a size and I loved the entrance name Big Stump lol, great name! Some amazing trees therein all shapes and sizes, great for the children to explore, cheers Alan
Thanks for sharing.. This is so cool, to be there in person.. Just think, there are people out there that would love to go in there and cut them all down.. Full View and like..
It is really impressive to see them in person. We are so glad they are protected, they are worth it. Thank you so much Allen, we always appreciate your comments.
I would love to see this area when there was snow on the ground and in the trees. Maybe in early spring though as I think the road closes in winter. Would love to walk through the Monarch tree though. That looked cool. Have a great week up their in the north.
That's right Lance, the road closes with the snow and the reopening of the road varies from year to year. It would definitely be special to see this grove with snow on the ground. Walking through the tree was really impressive, one can only be humbled by these giants. Thank you so much, Lance!
Spectacular! Walking under a fallen tree looks sooo cool!!! The General grant tree is wow oh WOW! Most certainly a living piece of history that's preserved so well. Thanks for bringing us along my friends ☺️🌲💚
Walking through a sequoia was so impressive, the size of these trees are incredible! We felt so small next them. Thank you so much Gil, it is always a pleasure to read you.
