Nice reference to Fry and Laurie sketch there!! Seriously though, the BBC are now widely and quite correctly regarded as total c*nts so you should really apologise to fry and laurie for associating 21st century BBC with any previous works, which had talent and/or originality.

Only reason I watched House M.D. was because I wondered how Hugh could possibly play a "serious" american doctor (I'd only ever known him as a comedy actor). He played it extremely well and his comedy acting experience is what really helps make House a likable character even though he's a complete ass.
@fromthedumpstertothegrave3689
@fromthedumpstertothegrave3689 2 года назад
yeah, its a testament to his acting how many viewers of House had no idea he was English. Not to mention that from about the second season onwards he was allowed to lean into the comedic, albeit black comedy, a bit more.
@Brando56894

As an American, who only knew him from House, it's the exact opposite for me. It's so odd seeing a young, goofy Hugh Laurie when I only know him as the middle-aged, cranky, drug addict. It'd be like seeing a super serious Rowan Atkinson.

Absolutely, it's an embarrassment to football, I was thinking the same, this clip is ahead of its time. Players should be issued bans for faking things, its cheating, yet they don't address it.

Thinking back, it's weird how the world actually looked like this in the 90's. There was like a 90's filter over everything. The colours were different. After HD came around, everything changed. It all looks sharp and unfriendly now.

More like time stamp, its the same for most decades 70s, 80s etc. I have to say it felt more gritty and real and quality than now where things are shiny with no substance.
@SpaceCattttt
@SpaceCattttt 2 года назад
@@yoya4766 Yeah. When I think of the 80's, for example, I think of the colour grey. It seemed to be the most popular colour at the time. Grey shoulder pads. Grey phones. Grey suits. Grey houses. I'm sure the colours of any given decade influence how we remember them. But I have no explanation for how the world seemed to be in standard definition before HD showed up. I suppose HD looks unnaturally sharp, so maybe that's why?
@yoya4766
@yoya4766 2 года назад
@@SpaceCattttt Individual memories differ. I think of the 80s as multicoloured/patterns, big hair and perms, loud makeup, and shoulder pads. The HD you see now does have alot to do with the picture quality. 90s was the last 'real' decade, where you activites didn't revolve around a screen. The world with its natural fuzziness. Now we see screens all the time, bright back lights and off course HD. In the environment its like a massive fast food place, with glass and steel everywhere. The hair is gone so baldy's everywhere shine, its very cold, speeded up and all about the money.

Tbf, I'm not Welsh, I'm from another place that's even worse at football. Still, Wales has a tiny fraction of England's population, so of course they're going to tend to be worse. You aren't expecting Andorra to be world beaters are you?

Oh right, made an assumption on the Swansea picture. Who else other than the Welsh would support Swansea i thought lol. True about the population but *1)* apparently doesn't just include the population of Wales, just look at the Wales captain Ashley Williams, he's English. *2)* Portugal have a small population, there are other small countries that over perform aswell.
