This is probably going to be the most watched World Series ever. My Dad a musician has traveled to Japan a lot, and he said that while of course they’re love Ohtani, but that there’s a lot of Yankees fans in Japan because of Godzilla (Hideki Matsui) becoming a Yankees Legend, Masahiro Tanaka was a Yankee, Ichiro was a Yankee, to name a few of the big names. Yamamoto was almost a Yankee and many Japanese fans wanted him there, as well as Ohtani Japan wanted him there. The Dodgers of course have a huge Japanese fanbase. My Das said they also love Aaron Judge un Japan as well. This will probably be on just about every Japanese TV in that country and its great for the sport.
games running from after a late breakfast to a bit past lunch time over there might not be the ratings bonanza you expect, but I'm sure there will be decent numbers finding a way to tune in.
@@JSauer21 you do realize it features the 2 largest markets an in the county and the two most iconic franchises right? But you’re right people would much rather watch another Arizona v Texas World Series which was one of the least watched World Series
I think that’s what ups the anti even more is that it’s not only baseballs two most iconic franchises with so many stars and great players but they are very evenly matched and it could go 7 games. Just incredible stuff even jeter was talking about how this was his dream World Series
i watched the 1977 1978 and 1981 world series between these 2 teams and let me tell you its great man. I did nt think that i would have to wait another 43 years to see it again
@@Gregg-f1d If you're speaking casually about it, you can absolutely say it's been "close to" or "almost", or "nearly", or "about", or "like" 45 years. But when someone asks you on camera specifically to confirm how long it's been -- like his co-host did -- that's when you should attempt to speak with more accuracy. You don't look into the camera and phonetically over-enunciate, "four-tee-five-years". Saying it like that made it sound like he was stating a fact.
I think the teams are evenly matched everywhere but the starting pitching. Yankees are significantly deeper in the starting pitching department with cole rodon schmidt gil and cortes/stroman.
Schmidt and Cole? That’s the only names this guy knows on the NY rotation? How unprepared he must be. NY has the probable AL Rookie of the year in Gil, Rodon who just won 16 games and had a sub 4 ERA, then they also have Stroman and Cortes if they REALLY need them. Trust and believe, Yankees pitchers will far outperform the LA pitchers.
Congratulations to the dodgers I cannot wait to see the dodgers vs the Yankees best rivalry goes back to the 40s until the 80s and I'll get to see it in the 2024 last time this teams play each other in the world series 1981 I wasn't born in the late 80s when the dodgers win it all and I got them winning it in 7 games going to witness it going to be a fun series dodgers all the way Baby how long hello💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💜💛🎆🎇🎆🥇🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🔥🔥😁
bro just cause they have shohei freeman and mookie doesnt mean they gonna win. yankees got torres, judge, soto, stanton, chisolm, weaver so i think that the yankees do have a chance in the world series just saying
I don't know about the rest of you, but I have absolutely NO enthusiasm whatsoever for either team and couldn't care less how it turns out. I'm just glad the NFL season is in full swing.
@@excalibur2024guy EVERY team that I had any hopes for got blown out in the playoffs. I don't identify at all with New York or LA and couldn't care less which of these 2 giant Megabucks teams wins. They're not about baseball, they're all about money!
Unpopular opinion but this is the worst matchup in years, both teams were expected to succeed, both teams play in big markets, both teams have been good in the modern era, they both have massive payrolls, and any underdog stories like the mets making the world series were ended swiftly, I'm sorry but I don't wanna watch 2 powerhouses square off!
