Dr. Roy explains the some of the chaos in the the interwar years, with extra focus on Germany and Austria. In this talk he lays out more of the processes that led to WWII: awful choices, bad leadership, pettiness, and chaos.
@@totallynameless8861 sudetenland never was historical german land(just look for any map "bohemia 1300"), Pilsner was always czech/bohemian city, founded by czech king. Czech legions were fighting on side of czarist russia against Austrians, and Germans. Battle of Zborov is well documented one of the examples. The fact that in 41:50 he is trying justify his BS lie, just show that he lied/omitted facts intentionally.
Those who accuse the professor of lying should simply listen to their sanitized version of history. We appreciate Roy's perspective, as it adds depth and intrigue to our understanding of events.
he 100% did with the sudeten land, and czechs in russia. Making stuff up, for reasons unknown. Sudeten land - look at any map of bohemia of 13century. "czechs in russia, wanted to go fight to France" - most def fought with russians agaist germans and austrians, viz well documented Battle of Zborov. If he lies about this, what else does he lying about???!!!!!!!!
@@vgames6792 Sudetenland is real, how’d he lie about that? At 41:50 he’s just commenting on how tough they were to try and make that journey across Siberia, two oceans and North America. He said the Czechs wanted to fight for the Allies. What exactly did he make up?
@@Eastonwest71 Sudetenland is made up by naz|s/germans, look at any map of "bohemia 1300" those lands were never germanies even during Habsburg occupation it was still czechs!! City of Pilsner was founded by czech king. So unless your ancestors were naz|s this point is mooo. After october revolution czech legionaries, might have at first plan to go to france. BUT the way he said he omit like 95% of other FACTS, and mention only the least important one, WHY? You know they were fighting in Russia even after the war ended, right???
have been waiting for this for such a long time and probably the first to see it! lectures are amazing, but please, don’t make us wait in real time to go from inter-war period to ww2 😢
@@tuckerbugeateri’d rather trust a doctor who actually has multiple degrees than an internet random. Carry on hating, Roy will carry on teaching regardless 😉
I was sad that Dr. Casagranda mentioned my homeland 🇧🇬 with the not so proud moments of Bulgaria's history. We were an empire back in the days, but you know... things happened. And still ❤ his lectures. I feel like a kid listening to an amazing fairytale. Thank God there are scholars like you! God bless you!
What an enjoyable lecture! I never imagined I can enjoy listening to history and take notes until I came across Dr Roy’s videos! I binged watched this channel. And forced my whole family to watch it too. Pls keep making those videos they are more relevant today than ever. Let’s learn from history and let’s do change while we still can before a whole people are completely annihilated.
What a setting, and he is on his wheels this time. Let's roll. I am very curious about his insights, I actually know a bunch of stuff from ww2 but his perspective/comment is what I'm here for.
Hi Roy. Idk if you will see this but, I just wanted to let you know how much I love your presentations-they've been incredibly helpful in deepening my understanding of modern politics, and you're the reason I log in to RU-vid every day
I finished listening to part 1 today and it was absolutely Amazing. Then couldn’t find part 2 and felt so sad. Now after 5-6 hours it Just popped up in my feed. Wow
As a Bulgarian I totally agree with his statement that whichever side we are on during a war, this side looses :D My 10th grade history teacher said the very same thing!
A very interesting perspective from the Doctor, not quite the full perspective. The pettiness, bad mistakes etc seems to be written off as just that, with no external influences or organisations conspiring to make these events happen. Very little mention of the interconnectivity of Europe's Crown Royal Family, no mention of the change in money supply in Europe (Privately Owned Central Banks), no mention whatsoever of Switzerland the main protaganist beind the curtains, no mention of the influence from the Vatican, no mention of the origin of Marx, Lenin or Trotski, nor their religious ideology that is key in explaining other causes of WW2. The Czechs marching 20,000 miles to travel less than 500 miles, that's some substantial amount story telling with that yarn. Other than these issues, 100% improvement on what is taught in mainstream education.
I was not a fan of history. Thank you Roy for making me intrigued. Rather than watching some tv show. I’m watching these videos and Roy paints a picture. Better than reading a book.
Like many history fans, I’ve been hugely interested in WW2 since childhood. I studied the topic in school and in university. I’ve read at least a dozen books by proper historians: - why is it that, despite his biases or shortcuts, Dr Casagranda so often brings up perspectives and events I haven’t heard in the usual telling of events? This is such an interesting series, shame these lectures are so far apart in time.
Yeah Roy you should def go on Rogan. I have a feeling a lot of people don't know you just like i didn't know Dan Carlin before he went on Rogan. Your audience is gonna go🚀
Since Dr. Roy is a Polítical Scientist rather than a Historian, I can excuse a couple factual goofs here and there. But when it comes to political analysis of the times, MY GOD, he gets it right and gets it across. Having so much knowledge on the top of his head to carry a conversation for 2 hours with mostly correct stuff is impressive
Not only Mongols, Vikings and Germans defeated Russia. Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth also defeated in the war 1605-1618, and Poland alone defeated Soviet Union in 1921.
I absolutely agree that dr. Casagranda should receive any Oscar for his presentation. I find myself on occasion disagreeing with some arguments put forward by some historians but I have never so far felt to have to disagree with anything dr. Casagrande said/presented so far.
Dr Casagranda is there anyway you can upload lectures on a daily basis. You tell history in such an understandable and realistic way with all the facts. I want to listen and learn everyday. Any topic of World History will do. Any part of the world, any and all religions and religions. Please consider my request. I feel like ur lectures posted here are every semester. I am from the SFO Bay Area and can’t make it to your lecture hall. So I have to wait months just to see your new posted videos. I’ve watched all your lectures and videos. So I need more. Thank you for posting them. Love to learn from you. I have learnt more from your lectures than I did in class or article or videos I have ever watch. May God bless you and ur family.
I see what looks like part 1, part 2 (this one) and a part 10 to this series, but where are the rest of them? This is such interesting information and delivered in such an entertaining way. Anyone know if there are other videos that I'm just not able to find?
