World War Two 9th Armored (WIA) Prisoner of War Purple Heart

Here is another very special item that I have just added to my collection. This Purple Heart belonged to Arlon James Puckett of the 9th Armored Division. In this video, I talk about his service, time being in prison of war camps and life after.

Amazing item and story! I'm so glad he was given the opportunity and agreed to tell his story, goes to show that we need to encourage the guys that are left to tell their stories if they feel comfortable so they aren't lost to history. I wish I was able to go online and find interviews for the named items I have, sadly the majority of their stories have been lost to time.

Google makes it hard on me to look up anything on my Android... I find using my work phone in which is an Apple Phone that I get more hits on information.

well im sure being wounded and in a pow camp he was never awarded his purple heart till post war. id say that purple heart is circa lat 70s or 80s based on the case lining and how the medal was made. nice grouping and a world of reserch. thanks for sharing
