lot of great info. i honestly dont see why people think its disrespectful to own a purple heart. were celebrating the recipient and perpetuating their memory for the future. rip mr buckner. and thank you.

Very touching video JonBoy. I’m happy this 9th armored veteran’s Purple Heart made it into your collection. I feel like Solomon would be honored to know that. You have a real talent for researching and digging up information. Great job and keep up the good work. 💜🇺🇸🪖

The only purple heart I have was my dads he got at the battle of the bulge a shell exploded in a pine tree above him and mostly severd his wrist ,he and some other wounded me then walked about 6 miles to a field hospital that was his 2nd purple heart the 1st was from being shot in the leg on guard duty in Italy 1943 my sister has that one.

Anyone that objects to collectors caring for Purple Hearts should ask themselves whether it is better for a collector to pay to be the caretaker of or or for it to go in the trash. Most fellows that were KIA, especially in past wars didn't even have kids. Most people today have no idea who their great grandpa was, let alone a distant cousin or great great uncle that they never met because his life was lost long before they were born. I once owned a grouping of brothers, one of whom who was WIA in the 3rd Armored. It literally was picked out of the trash and saved. And folks that buy into that purple hearts reunited bunk should look into Zachariah Fike's personal life and his behavior in the military. Trash human being that collected hundreds of thousands of dollars and paid himself almost $2k for each Heart he returned. Judging by yours, I know who sold it to you, and when that wonderful collector returns a Heart that a family finds out still exists, it only costs him about $10 for a flat rate package. Collecting is PRESERVING and REMEMBERING. Well done.

while i think its sad, i dont have a problem with vets who feel the need to discard their purple heart. theyre the recipient. theyre the one who literally shed their blood. if they feel they cant in good conscious retain the medal, who am i do decide otherwise. they have my respect either way.

Just wondering. Is man's name on the back of the Purple Heart? The reason I am asking some don't.

Usually WWI WIA Hearts, WWII KIA Hearts, SOME WWII WIA Hearts, and Korea and Nam KIA Hearts are engraved. I have read that some Nam KIA Hearts weren't engraved, though.
