My issue with all of these “magical treatments” movies, is that they never bother explaining why the general population is being targeted. Most groundbreaking discoveries in the real world are only marketed to the richest and are extremely expensive. It has always struck me as so unrealistic that companies would lower their prices to share their product with everyone when they can just put the 1billion dollar price tag and make much more by only selling to billionaires

If this exists in real life, discord moderators would be hard to spot out

So in the end, nobody wins as the people who over went the procedure died, and Henry continues to overeat. Unless you’re counting the people who were already skinny without undergoing the surgery.

Moral of the story, there are no shortcuts to weight loss.

A lot of makeup artists in movies tend to forget that when they’re creating an extremely obese person, they need to make the hands fatter. The only time they really pay attention to the hands is if they’re doing an obese monster humanoid creature or are doing an up close shot of the hand. As you can see Kelly, her hands immediately just give it away. They only focused on her torso and legs and not arms and hands.

To all the people saying movies like this aren't realistic since everybody can afford this. Use your common sense, and you'll realize that even though it's rare, this isn't THAT sky high expensive, since it's reusable.

This somehwat reminds me of a comic called The Beauty where if you take a pill, it transforms your body into supermodel looks. The trade off is that you only live for a few years after the taking the drug. The comic explores the implication of the drug, and how many people are so vain, they take it. It was a pretty good comic, until they switched artists. I think it's still a good comic to read if you are looking for things to entertain yourself. It's Image Comics... not not DC nor Marvel. If you only know of DC or Marvel, please consider alternate comic producers whose quality is often vastly superior. You get a few duds too, but you always get more original stories than DC or Marvel combined. Plus Image Comics, it's all artist-owned IP. So you are supporting the artists and not a corporation.

Fun story. I worked with a dude, overweight, in his early 60s. Always on some gimmicky diet. Goes on a 2 week business trip to Central America. Comes back to NYC and starts having digestive issues and other health issues. Goes to a bunch of doctors, is hospitalized several times bcuz he's lost a ton of weight and is dangerously deficient in a lot of minerals and vitamins. Doctors decide he must have a tumor and take him in for emergency surgery. They find a bunch of tapeworms feeding on his intestine and do a radical gastric bypass. This was about 12 years ago. Jim has never been right since. Poor guy

As someone going through an eating disorder, I think the themes of this film align with the horror of eating disorders and a body negative world in a unique way that isn't too apparent.
