Dct trans in M2/M3 - Like you said to do a burnout (Smokey burnout mode)- with all traction control off and no brake, flat stick the throttle completely and it will bring the revs up and then sidestep the “clutch” by itself, then you can use the brakes to hold it if you want. Launch control - with traction control off If you press the brake and throttle together it will activate the launch control BUT only after the cars traveled like 10kms and everything’s up to temp. If you can’t get it going it means the trans is too cold. Also once you’ve used it, it needs a certain time to cool down before it lets you use it again. Which is why Chris could get it to work at the drags in staging lanes and then not 1 min later at the tree 😂 FYI - when it’s sitting on the launch control, you can use the cruise control buttons to raise and lower rpm which is really helpful
This is also true of the control arm bushings when installing coilovers or shocks in most cars. It can also cause some odd rebound effects on the suspension. If a suspension arm or coil has a bushing that cant spin freely you should load up the suspension then tighten.
So much of a vibe every video, I cannot get enough of this content lately. Cannot wait to get my colorado together and start ripping it, my twin turbo s10 is rowdy but you make a stock v8 swapped colorado seem like the coolest thing ever
@@joestewart5406 all I do on my channel is turbo LS Builds on budgets but Tommy and now Ruddy have convinced Me from watching their Builds that I needed a single cab 2wd white Rado so I snagged one. I'm gonna do big cam and call it a day I think but who knows maybe 5lbs ends up making it way lol
@@AverageJoeBuilds thats dope i got a bone stock 2wd crew cab rado with the 3.7 and its not slow i smoke fullsize v8 trucks all the time. I cant imagine having a v8 in this it would be so nasty.
Im still impressed by the daily uploads. As someone who has been trying to upload consistently myself I gotta say chris is putting in some serious work. Much respect.
@@Jacobtheunwise LOL thats true, but no doubt its hard work. I know how it can be to work on a car all day then have to relive the entire thing when editing later that night. It takes some dedication.
The button under the pedal is the kickdown switch. Its a more aggressive downshift and rev matches and locks the converter to give you max power/torque.
The dynamic of yours and tommys videos lately has been crazy ! Tommys makin artsy videos with crazy cars and we get to see the real side of the shop and funny shit from you. Looks forward to it every day
The extra "Button" Tom is talking about is called a kickdown switch. Used to be a big thing on older cars and stuff in the 90's and told the transmission to downshift.
Dude I love that you guys kept fucking with Tom and actually struck a nerve with him a few times 😂 that was fire 🔥 lol moving back to CT, bringing Will onto the team, getting in a shop with Tommy and his crew, fucking amazing content lately. Everything you all have been putting out has been on point bro. Seriously you guys are killing it. Getting shit done on the cars, throwing in the shenanigans here and there, just everything dude. Keep it up 🤙
I honestly don't laugh more on any other automotive channel than I do on this one. You, Will and Tommy together have had me cracking up so much, the way your personalities mesh is genuinely hilarious 😂
Those aprons are really good for working with cars. Especially if you are buffing a car. You should start selling junk ones. Jimmy Oakes does with Oakes logo.
Go steal the shock absorber seat out of the Mitsubishi Canter and put it in the Colorado so it will no longer be a bounce house. Plus it would be the funniest video ever if you did steal it. Tom's reaction would be hilarious.
With Mercedes-Benz we call that second click at the very end of the accelerator pedal “kick down” makes the car kick down to lower gear possible for max speed
On my 135 DCT, I have to partially turn traction off, put on sport mode, and put the trans into manual mode. Once I press the brake pedal and stomp on the gas, you’re in launch control. If you fully turn traction off and floor it, that’s my smokey burnout mode 😂
Man I love watching you both. Tom definitely don’t give a thing away. LoL. I live in Ansonia Ct and I’m from Milford Ct. I watch all you fellow Ct mates. I would love to meet y’all one day. I would like to live that style, working on car’s, doing what you love. One day right. But awesome content. Keep it up. Came along way my dude
the button under pedal is called kickdown .... it puts the ecu in a different fuel and ignitiontrim for maximum power . most modern cars and truck,s from +- 2008 and upwards have it . in modern german cars ... you can actually find the maps that are active when kickdown is activated . some cars completely switch caracter when activated .... fuelmap/ignitiontable/camtiming etc
Just get a better axle with disc brakes, its leaf spring so it's easy, you just get spring perches, set the pinion angle using the ubolts to hold it all, tack the perches, then weld them in. Just make sure you get the right width to suit your wheels and plenty of options with the same bolt pattern.
Before y’all start to rag on jack for the tune, for one it was tuned in Florida and it’s in CT now of course it’s gonna be off, and it’s gonna be off going from a 6.0 truck motor to a 6.2 ls3
It is going to have to be turned still if the ecu is tuned for the 6.0. The fuel tables, the timing and everything is going to be off because your going from a 6.0 to a 6.2. I'm sure you swapped the ecu cause it's hard to believe the time for the LS1 would run a LS3.
@@402carkid9 🤣🤣🤣 I know it. My phone auto corrects with the word I use the most. Also the LS1 is also a 5.3 to. Only if it came in trucks that had the LS1. The LS1 5.7 came in camaro's and Corvette's
That's exactly right on that. The LS3 being aluminum might be lighter but its weaker than the iron block 6.0. it's honestly crazy how much power you gain from just a cam. And I have been saying the same thing him reusing the truck accessories. When he's reason is all over not wanting to get power steering lines made and finding radiator hoses for it. Along with not using the intake because he wanted to use his new throttle body. It makes no sense when he's just going to have to do it anyways when he supercharges it. And has to put the car accessories on it. And correct me if I'm wrong the alterations and power steering bracket the ls2 and the LS3 both will bolt to the head but are different were they bolt to the block and the LS3 is even missing a hole in the block that the bracket bolts to on the ls2. So he actually only had it bolted to the head SMH.
And the car accessories tuck in closer to the motor. Makes no sense it to use them. And have room to put a bigger radiator and fans to cool truck and get rid of the factory four cylinder radiator. When he even said the truck overheats idling. Plus it would make it look allot cleaner anyways and it would look like it belongs in there with the car accessories and intake manifold. With all the time he spent calling and trying to make the car and truck accessories work he could have spent less time but the power steering hoses and radiator hoses to make them work
@@402carkid9he's honestly probably going to make less power than the 6.0 did. And he'll probably blow it up from running it lean or wash the bearing and cylinder walls from running it rich cause he won't take it to get it tuned right away. It's like them timing wills motor. That right there was a complete joke and probably bend some valves starting it.
….. they make brackets that you can hammer into those shocks…. Brotha you should have gone mcghoughys my guy! Great seeing will back in the videos. Get us a grillo rap update soon! And some more hard r videos on the asap
BMW have a mode called TIM YOYO, you hold the traction button for 10 seconds, then another 10 seconds to fully disable everything. Stands for THAT'S IT MOTHERF YOUR ON YOURN OWN Miss my 1 series 😌
My Silverado has a beltech 2/4 drop nothing crazy. Drop spindles stock springs and drop hanger and shackle. Street performance shocks. At first bounced like crazy cause it was sitting on the bumpstops. After cutting the bumpstops it's still so dam stiff I'm thinking of going to coilovers and 4 link
Only thing I can recommend for the editing is just to turn the music down a little bit, its way louder than the voices of the video but other than that, shits fire bro :)
the moment tommy walks in the shop I start laughing knowing he's going to talk shit hahaha. the content now you're all back together is fire, including will.
I commented this last time, I’m gonna do it again, that’s a bar pin in the shock, you could probably press it out and put it in the better shock, if you care to redo the job 😂 or get what’s called bar pin eliminators for when you put the new axle in.
