this is easy to say in hindsight but you cant really just skip a year and keep similar mindsets without looking at everything since, especially since it's not even exact same rosters; i think it's pretty easy/fair to rate lng higher looking at the context of worlds and recent play

Lots of hindsight bias in this thread. WBG looked shaky before today. Shakier than they did last year for sure. They definitely pulled it together for this series and looked solid. If LNG supposedly had a meta read earlier, they would not be picking jhin in the games today. It's clear jhin is bait in this meta. 31% win rate in 16 games before the games today.

As a jhin main i agree. The reason he was so good in summer split was that he generally had a hypercarry mid providing the dps, and he himself acts more like an ad mage with cc and execute dmg in the early and mid game. With mages often in jungle as well instead of tanks like right now, he could actually provide decent damage but now he is just running around tickling tanks.

I picked lng to win not only cause of lng's perfect swiss stage, but also lng and weibo's series vs dk. Rng's coach also mentioned that LNG has like a 70% winrate vs lck/lpl and only geng can match them in scrims. well played weibo
@@M0ONCommander WBG looks like the less stable TES. They seems to peak higher (made it to LPL final and this) and lower low (lost to G2 and almost got beaten by NA).
They probably got overconfident from scrims. Like you said, they had a very high winrate vs LCK teams in scrims (even without DK) so they probably underestimated WBG.
@maxsmith8357 perhaps. But with dk their scrims winrate would be lower. Apparently dk ripping through scrims but couldn't translate that on stage. G2 had a 20 percent winrate vs dk in scrims. The same g2 that was able to match t1 and geng in scrims

Thats why only good mechanical players like chovy , zeus , zeka are able to play him consistenly good and teams dont want players like them on yone cause they nullify yone's weak laning with good mechanics... For example just watch chovy on yone against champs like ori or leblanc or lucian.. these are hard counter picks still he goes 90% times even and even sometimes up on cs which just giga makes his yone OP in the mid game instantly
They aren't picking Yone into Aurora. Blue side first picks Yone. Red side picks Aurora into Yone. If Yone is open, they basically have to take it otherwise Red will take it. Why they don't first pick Aurora instead, I guess is Scout's preference. Edit: in addition to what blades said above, I guess it makes the draft more versatile with Yone. He can fit in better whereas you kinda have to play a certain way with Aurora, and that can limit the rest of the draft more than Yone does.
