The Severn Estuary can rise 12 meters in 3.5 hours. I've been working on my boat when I heard what sounded like an jet flying low. It was the tide racing in over the sand. It's so fast that outrunning it is difficult. Got caught out the opposite side of the tide a couple of weeks ago. In a high speed motor boat. Engine got caught in mud. 20 minutes layer the water level had gone down 1M, we were high & dry and we had to be rescued by local lifeboat. Thanks again guys.
Australia ? I have been binge watching tide videos ..there are a few that are faster but this is awesome. I am an Aussie and find these tides absolutely amazing....haven't seen 1 like it here on the east coast
Fabulous! It is thought that also there are others which may be different when actually it is hard to tell! We know there is this and that and then you look carefully and you see the other. When you have done that it is not a bad idea to go home and have sandwiches. I can't think why not! oh yes... Lots of Love from everyone, here in Bristol, UK
Hello ShePoles, is it possible to contact you regarding this video (i.e. via email)? We would be interested to discuss a license to use this video if this is generally possible to discuss? :) Cheers, Felix
@@marvinmartinsYT Nah! :) Not even close. www.top-ten-10.com/science/geography/tidal-range.htm Canada wins on the vertical speed. And as tidal races go, Saltstraumen in Norway wins on sheer volume. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saltstraumen The Aussie one is cool, but only 'cos its only 20 ft wide. Not sure on horizontal speed, but in the absence of bothering to find out, I'll go with Derby flats being second; who knows if its true or not :) The moon, rocks!
