Honestly, I've always revered Honda as a brand, just because they're known for their good old fashioned "quality," for which there is no technique or design, just effort and meticulousness. But I've intuited that in recent years, they've held themselves to a conservative agenda with their bikes - always conservative with the horsepower, and always well-rounded with everything but never flashy in any one department. Honda was always that solid bike that was "ok" at everything and really reliable. Ducati, on the other hand, is that flashy, romantic motorcycle that's Italian, fast and unreliable. Finally, Honda unleashed a beast that you really can't beat - potentially the most capable machine speed-wise and also the best in the humble thing called reliability and quality. And Alex McAllister wants one. Did I get the narrative right? Lol
It is really difficult to beat the S-1000 RR. It is really an all around beast. Rides well & forgiving. Awesome power & acceleration. 2nd least expensive at only 15K - 16K pounds.
I really don't get this repeated claim that ducati is unreliable. Since audi got involved in 2010 they are a very reliable bike now as they have fixed the electronic weaknesses. I've owned a few, and a couple of fireblades in recent years and they have all been fantastic reliable superbikes
The content of this channel is on point. Though I'm far from affording any one of these bikes, I'm glad to know all the info. Great content, keep up the good work.
You can always try to get a bank loan like for a car. Personally, I'd rather try for a personal loan. Its a bit harder to get but they wobt take your bike if you miss a payment. 😷🏍💨👍
Love my 2008 zx10r. Although I think all these bikes are great 👍. And unless you are actually racing, any one of them will make the owner proud. Which is the best? Whichever one you own. I also have an 07 zx10r. I'll keep them both forever.
The CB1000R naked is built around its power and is not a super naked. Honda would have to build a naked fireblade and I don't think they will any time soon, shame.
I don't know about that. I had the privilege to test ride the bike at Nürburgring and there is no power to speak of under 8k rpm lke legit non. Honda really stretched the power only for the top end. Even after some tuning i don't think this engine will be a good platform for a naked bike.
I personally like the 2017 version. It may not have all of the goodies but the livery scheme is absolutely beautiful. Also, the 2012 Honda Fireblade anniversary edition is gorgeous.
Pretty awesome comparison 👌👍 But Honda covered every expectation from Durability, reliability, resilience 😎😎😍To prove that I'm still using my 2005 and 2007 model on the track, Good work Honda 👍👍👍😎😎😎 Looking forward to see you achieve in WSBK racing , Cheers
People say "only 1% of riders can make full use of the bike" yeah so what? 90% of people cant make full use of their cars. Doesnt stop people from buying them and there is nothing wrong with it. They are beautiful and if you can afford one and are responsible enough to not kill yourself then get one. So what if you cant use it to it's full potential, as long as you have fun that's all that matters
The CBR1000RR-R just shows that the old adage Jack Of All Trades, Master To None applies till this day. If Honda tried to get some midrange power, it would lose all the craziness up top, making it the same like the other bikes.
Its crazy that we live in a time where all these bikes are amazing and are more capable than 99.9% of the riders. Just buy whatever looks best to your eyes and feels comfortable and natural to ride.
I couldn’t agree more. I think the BMW is the best bike that I’ve ridden on a track but I own a Panigale. It’s my dream bike and I’ll never be able to maximize either motorcycle...so who really cares?
The funny thing is the last couple of years these bikes have been tested against one another the Aprilia and BMW turned the fastest laps. Honda was even turning faster laps than most bikes on many tracks despite being down some on power. Now with all that HP plus still having that 600cc handling it will be very hard to beat. The GSXR was also turning some of the fastest laps just behind Aprilia and BMW and even beating the R1. While Ducati and Kawasaki was at the bottom much of the time. Its a shame that Aprilia decided to back off racing after dominating for so many years. And BMW is the king at the Island of Man TT. Something else to mention only the new Fireblade RR-R SP and the R1M have the Ohlins top end electronic suspension with pressurized forks. The other bikes do not.
Not at all, Honda doesn't sell for shit anymore. And it's really sad because my 17' SP2 after being full tuned is easily the best bike I've ever had. Tbh of all 4 liter bikes from Japan I can see them being the best easily, but that price is too much.
@@ninadganore idk about the market you are in. I know asia had TONS of sales, but here in the states the SC77 did not sell. Many dealers got them in limited supply, the ones that were for sale remained new old stock for 3+ years. Thats how I got my SP2, new old stock sale for WAY under msrp.
most of the honda dealerships in my area are focused on dirtbikes, beginner 650's and nakeds, the 600 and the 1000 have pretty much been made an order only bike.
Great round-up Toad & thanks for all the good content of late👍 I don't think I'll ever be able to afford a new superbike (or even a used one at this rate) but it's always good to keep your fantasies up-to-date 🤷🏻♂️
@@theonlyredspecial except its nothing like a motogp engine, infact the 1 critical thing they could do to make it like the rc213v ( making it a v4) they didnt.
@@agentofenhanced2428 ok, ill be more specific. the internal dimensions in regards to the stroke and bore are based on Hondas own rc213V. The internal dimensions are shared with the RC213V MotoGP bike, using the MotoGP-limit 81mm bore and 48.5mm stroke (previously 76mm and 55.1mm respectively) There was a debate about the V4 option inside Honda, based on a contact in BSB I have and they felt moving to a V4 engine for the fireblade would destroy its inline 4 heritage. I think the 2019 was a better road bike, but the 2020 Blade, based on results so far from the Irwin brothers in BSB is proving that the changes to the older bike have worked as a track bike. Pretty sure this is why honda are selling the RR alongside the RR-R model. I actually traded in my 2020 blade RR-R a few days ago after 500 miles. it was killing my arms, but the engine is a lot of fun. Not something you could find out on a demo either sadly. Lost a few grand on that so more fool me. I actually just got a ping last week about a recall on the RR-R so will be interesting to hear how many are affected. recall is for sump bolts loose in the bottom of the engine. Have to replace the gasket and all the bolts too.
Waiting for the Honda CBR 600 RR and RR-R. It is about that time. First things first I hope they change the headlight. I had to skip 2013-2020 model just because of the headlight. Please launch it before I get a MV Agusta F3 after lockdown.
In New Zealand and Australia Suzuki is the second biggest selling 1000cc super bike behind BMW. Seems fitting to me to keep them in these kinds of comparisons.
@@steviedee71 Ducati got it right in 2008+ with the 1098 L-Twin engine. The cam belts went to chain, and the valve adjustment intervals were a lot longer too. Even the warranty was better due to these changes. It's not like owning a 916/996/998 or 748 anymore. Those were beautiful bikes to look at and race, but for owning one for daily, street riding.....its definitely not a Honda Fireblade or VFR of that same era, actually the total opposite. Ducati only got better after this; since the acquisition from Audi, via The VAG it can only get better quality wise. Great time to be a Duck fan for sure.
OMG. Finally ....Did they finally listen. Honda H.O. Tokyo I thought couldn’t hear, read or acknowledge what was going on. Felt they will drag the old model until the cows come calling. When Honda puts it’s mind to something they can get it 100% right💫. What a beauty. Best designed bike ever. Power, balance, fit & finish absolutely unmatched. Thank god they didn’t shrink it further. Buy it even if you don’t ride it. Showcase it in your room just to getup in the morning and have a look at this gorgeous piece of art. Honda designers and engineering did a phenomenal job. 👏. This entire team needs a raise. The king is back 👊. CBR1000rr-rsp. Good review. Keep it up.
I own that BMW, and it’s pretty nice motorcycle. 908 miles in it so far. Great video. I would like to own a Ducati but the service and parts are too expensive. One thing that caught me off guard was the fuel mileage. I am only getting 33 mpg on street with normal riding. I thought it would be close to 45-50 mpg
LOL if you wanted great gas MPG you should have bought an R3. 1000's are built for speed not consumption. 33 MPG seems decent considering I average 28 riding like an ass.
Well, I used to own an S1000RR and own a Panigale V4 now. It has good service intervals and the only expensive thing on it, is valve clearance adjustment. Which only needs to be done every 24.000 kilometers... shouldn’t be a reason not to buy one, if you can run an S1000RR, you can run a Panigale V4 as well.
Marcus W. Thank you! How do you compare the two? I use my bile in rain mode for office and in city commute, is the v4s easy to ride in city / low speed commute? Thanks
I've always got around 6l/100km (40 mpg) on sport bikes on the street with normal riding, not track riding. (CBR1000RR 04/06/08/12, GSX-R750 12/16, GSX-R1000 2014 and all 600's CBR, GSXR, R6 etc...). The worst one was the R1 2012 (crossplane) which was getting around 33 mpg. Ps. all my bikes were stock. Lets not forget that most of the new Super Bikes have 200 hp and+ which would explain the lower mpg..
Everything depends on money zx10r giving both power and money, it's just if you want unique take others all are good in their own spheres but everything boils down to MONEY and zx10r has most dominant history too
You get that for some reason he’s giving you altered info right? He’s giving the performance numbers of the ZX10RR but the price of the ZX10R base. Huge price difference. There must be biased or sponsorship money here.
I used to sell bikes and people would come in and ask me the detailed specs of every bike on the showroom floor. After a few minutes, I'd say, "They're all within a few pounds, a few horsepower and a few dollars. Buy the one you think looks coolest and you're comfortable on."
Excellent review with no bias which is rare. I personally see no reason to own one of these unless you are on the track. To me they are utterly useless on the road due to their nature. That is why I bought an MT10! If I had to choose, I am a Yamaha fan all the way so R1.....all are great though.
Id like to see the bhp gain on the new r1 when you tune it with a pipe and ecu flash. I heard around 10 or 12. If you need more than 210 bhp, then I guess an h2r is needed
I hate people that say most people will never take this bike to it's full potential, or, its wasted on the street. Most people don't take a civic or a pedal bike to it's full potential on the street either. How many people do you see doing 720 spins off a ramp or screeching the tires on a civic going around corners? If people wanted to get something that "just drove from point a to b" they would get a prius or a scooter. The point of getting performance vehicles is because of the fun, excitement and exhilaration they give you.
I'll pick CBR here bcoz of high top end. It there was a V4R here I would definitely pick that as it's my #1 dream bike. And you forget 1 underrated beast called Suzuki GSXR-1000R
@@MattieXMoto Questioning the cost first is exactly the reason why it isn't worth for you. My point is, if you're worried about cost, then go for the Kawasaki, it's the cheapest. But if you want a bike that beats the other bikes completely stock wise? Then go for the Honda. If you're a rider who wants the best performing bike out there, you don't ask "but how much does it cost?", you just ask "what's the best out there". Honda's track record shows that it just doesn't throw around price points like that "other" brand, and it always gives you the best bang out of your buck for the money you put into it. And not surprisingly, it didn't change this year.
Finally somebody mentions about the kawasaki and all its aftermarket parts that are available to make it something that it's not. After all the kawasaki does hold the track record that one track with the SBK bike that beat all the MOTO GP BIKES! All the bikes are pretty good here but who dose not flash the ECU and put a pipe on there bike. The yamaha makes 240 horse power with the head work and bolt on parts. The Honda 230hp that's the old one. The BMW 220 with good parts the old one here too. The Aprilla 208 with flash and pipe the old models from 2016 up. The Duck 226hp with pipe and flash . Kawasaki ? The new machine should be quite something and act differently with these modifications. Honda generally has a lot of cam choices which could enhance its low end performance and midrange this will make a good street bike. Yamaha still the king of quickness. But it's not winning races like it used to. And it's never won a road race that I know of. The suzuki has been quite a bike for quite a long time and the new one supposed to be bang on.
This was an amazing video, covered just about everything except in my opinion the most important- reliability. In order which one has least problems, which has the most?
The only reason it didn't top the heap in 2017 was for fading breaks...They now have thicker discs and braided brake lines. Suzuki didn't make a huge deal of it all just fixed it.
@@-DC-right? This bike and alot of tires and track time could be bought before ya get to the price of the others. All these machines are really great, just don't let price keep you away from the class, Suzuki has ya covered.
There is a reason they're priced so much lower than the competition... So all the teenagers can buy them. Jack out the swing arm, put some underglow on it, then wreck the bike and their credit in the process.
Who are you trying to fool? That’s not a 2020 V4S! That’s a 2019. The 2020 V4 and V4S have wings, along with the V4R frame, revised suspension, EVO 2 traction control, rear cylinder disabling, etc...
I wish more manufacturers would focus on decent STREET bikes. Not so viciously track focused. Bikes like the hayabusa and zx14r are years outdated. And still more at home day to day than these track focused machines.
Zx14 and busa were drag focused bikes all meant to hit the highest MPH.. They were both faster than a blackbird, but I’m positive the blackbird was more comfortable to most than a zx14/Busa.... Regardless, they do focus on street bikes. They are just either: A.) Out of your price range B.) Too much street and not sporty enough for you.
Because the R is a stupidly expensive homologation special while the S is the actual mass production bike, and it's actually the better one on the road?
There were dyno done on S1000RR V4RS and R1 on same day, and it came out that S1000RR produced most torque and power. It seems that BMW is more conservative when they specify specs
And then u woke up waching 650ib on bt moto v4s has more hp and torque technically speaking s 1000rr was number 3 on hp after v4s and v4 r rsv4 1100 then s 1000rr. Bmw never bit ducati not looks not preforming maybe close in comparison to honda or zx 10 r .it can't even bit zx 10r hardly. Properly tune v4 will murder most of the bike if not all .😅
If I wanted to feel a little bit of the aura of the greatest rider ever...Marc Marquez 93, I would choose definitely the Honda!!! Second in my list is the Kawasaki, it's a bike that wins in superbikes championship, so it has that winner feeling...
