I've played it for years*. I spend a lot of time saying "oh dear"... Well not thoes exact words. But you get the idea. *I'm pretty sure my first copy was on floppy disk 😂
Worms Armageddon Rope is hands down the #1 video game item ever! This is also the best Worms game in the franchise for some reason, but it isn't even that close. I loved the rope so much as a kid I would do "rope training" where I would design levels and try to get around in them without landing.
Worms rope mechanics are a goldmine waiting to happen for some game designer that replicates them in another game and pulls it off well. The world needs more rope races...
Everytimes YT suggest a Ruffled vid I have to watch it, so amazing to see and such great momories of the old days whan i got that game on CD, too bad i can't find it anymore
The run is great, the explanation is great, but what made me watch the entire thing is Ruffled both playing and commenting the game at the same time. It feels just so professional!
This is one of my new favorite speed runs! This game is like a sandbox full of possibilities; I can't imagine how much thought goes into the each turn and how to optimize it. The execution was underrated if you have never played this game. If you haven't, go play it now! It's incredible!
if anyone wants to know how to disable the friends notifications, or if ruffledbricks happens to be in the comments: open your friends list and click the gear in the top right, click notifications, and uncheck whatever you like.
I love about this generation of worms games that they actual had fully designed missions and maps. Random maps maybe is more pvp friendly. But destroying pictures is more fun.
Best speedrun I’ve ever seen. Mostly because of how technical it is though it was pretty quick too. I don’t think I even beat all the missions, very impressive
I remember playing this game all the time as a kid. Mostly the multiplayer though. I gave up on the single player like 2 missions in because I thought it was way too difficult. Nice to see it torn apart like this. I still have the PS1 disk sitting on my shelf right next to me, too.
Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.
Are we sure RuffledBricks isn't the Kwisatz Haderach? We won't come back to another of his speed runs in the future to discover he's turned fully into a worm?
I remember getting a demo version of the very original Worms game, it was barebones, you just created 2 teams and fought using weapons. that was the entire game. My friends and I played the demo so much that child me tried to find the full version. I couldn't find it anywhere. I remember emailing Team 17 asking about finding a copy. Over the course of several days I exchanged emails with whoever this person was from Team 17. I eventually asked if I could just get a copy of the game they said "No, you will have to buy a copy just like everyone else". My parents eventually found a copy at a computer repair shop. My friends and I then proceeded to play that version the game to death.
You mean DOS version? I remember I had a diskette 3.5" with games which I used in school. I put there several games using archive program. Also I had to tune game files. So for example in may games was only one background, as I copied the same under original names, so archive program treat them as same file, and game thought that they are intact. Worms was one of those games.
Love the event! Is it true though, that GDQ pulled out of their event in Florida because of political decisions? I was shoked to see that and I would like to know if it's true
This was great to watch, i ran the top clan in this game back in the day. It's amazing that a speed run has absolutely zero roping tricks tho. You missed a ton of time saves there.
So glad I noticed that I had accidentally bumped the thumbs down button! I have since corrected this grave error with a resounding click on the like button.
