Horrological disaster

Back in 1977 I purchased a new Ferrari and I purchased a 2002 from my mechanic to have a spare car that I could add a second gas tank during our gas shortage. In 2012 I purchased two 335 X drives for each one of my sons , a 535 for my wife and an X6 for myself. My older son hated the 335 so we traded it back in with less than 2000 miles and got him an X3. After his X3 had issues with the computer dropping the cars speed on the highway to 40MPH and the transmission light coming on the car was hit in the rear. They couldn't come up with a fix on all of the BMS with a Vanis Bolt issue and recall for years. My younger son worked at a new BMW dealer at the time. I will never buy one again. I got rid of all of them and went back to Mercedes ML350and GLK350 and GLS450 suv's. Mercedes is a much better made car in my opinion. The older BMWs and Mercedes made in Germany in the 70' 80's were much better cars and trucks.Back in 2011 and 2012 if you worked for BMW you could lease an M3 coupe of convert for $500 a month and a private lease was $850 a month. I found the BMW cars from 2011 and 2012 very uncomfortable with the X6 it had a real leather seat option with a massage feature. I usually buy my cars but I leased a GLC300 Mercedes for my wife to replace her GLK350 4 matic. After the 3 years I purchased the car for her. Maybe try to lease a MB they too go down less than around half in four years. My guitarist has a M3 coupe with the larger engine and a M3 coupe with the larger now discontinued engine and a 1974 BMW 2002 that he purchased new when he got out of law school. . His M3 Coupe is a collectors piece but he has had issues that BMW can't fix. A few years ago he went to a few authorized BMW dealers for problems and they gave him loaner cars for 2 moths and 4 months because they could not fix it.

It's a shitter. Get a basic reliable car n put ur $ into watches. Haha

Arch, arch, arch, arch... you bought a run of a mill BMW (4 cyl 3 series are a dime a dozen) and the lease has run out and you are thinking of selling your car with the rest of the herd that is doing the same thing all at the same time, you added window tinting and 5 year service plan to it and what ever else and you expect your money back? The aim of the exercise is to buy a car with as many extras from the factory as possible for the least money. You also buy demonstrators with the least Ks on them as possible (like 50ks) believe me BMW registers new cars and sells them as demos that they cant sell to make their figures look good. Now that you are in this predicament keep the car why do you need to sell it? Why would you even contemplate on buying an electric BMW which will suffer even more depreciation than your ICE vehicle. You are contemplating going from mechanical to the equivalent of quartz. Stick with the ICE vehicle until the electric vehicles substantially come down in price (which they will) and the Chinese get better at building cars. Stop wasting your money unless it is a tax write off and buy some time until electric vehicles become better. Your BMW should give you 10 years of trouble free motoring. Oh… and stop feeding your ego by setting up an appointment in an advance with BMW. You can just rock up to any dealership and test drive any model whilst they appraise your vehicle. Having said all this, if you have to sell your car then sell your car privately if. Look at what BMW is selling used 330i 2nd hand to other customers and take 7k off the price and sell your car privately.

Story of my BMW 530i Touring Brand new in March 2018 I bought in December 2019 and noticed vibration when breaking at 60kmph BMW replaced all brake rotors and pads in 2020 Brake rotors and pads replaced again in 2023 Brake rotors and pads, swing arms / bearings replaced in feb 2024 Brake rotors and pads, wheel hub replaced in May 2024 The problem persists so now its going back for fixing in August 2024

Good on you for giving the sales person the drum -- I've never seen anyone in sales actually know specifics of the product. It's a nice car you have, good spec and colour. But, I've had two pre-owned 3-Series -- a late e90 and f30 -- and even with the 50% haircut off the new price, the pre-owned trades were another 30% down on that. Only BMW I've ever had that held any value was a 2011 Z4 MSport 35i 6 speed. I'd keep through warranty at least, and why you never buy these new. Go a couple years pre-owned and if you want a warranty, get CPO or secondary. Pretty much the usual BMW, Merc, Audi, etc. experience.
