WHAT? I didn't know people hated this thing. I don't love it, but I thought it was pretty decent and bought it multiple times. There are definitely worse foods at Costco.
I've only had my membership for a few months but everything we've gotten has been really good. IMO they're WAY better than BJ'S because there you can actually pay more for some stuff, whereas Costco, you might not pay less for everything, but you're definitely not going to pay more on almost everything. My biggest gripe with Costco is the stuff they have you can get a really good deal on, they either stop carrying it or move it to a completely different part of the store, which stinks because it's just so big.
People called this the WORST item at Costco?! I've had this several times and it absolutely does the job, when you put everything together it's delicious lol.
I like this kit but the ratios of shredded cabbage and tortillas leave a lot of leftover filler. I actually liked the crema it might have been my favorite part since I’m “one of those” cilantro haters lol
I love these, but sometimes the chicken can be a little dry as you experienced. Sure it takes a few minutes to assemble the tacos but it's still a lot faster than the ones that need to be baked in the oven for an hour or more.
That’s funny man, my boy the other week was just telling me how good this tray was! He was like bro it’s pretty good and only 14 bucks for all the tacos n everything with it
@@peekaboots01 I agree! That chicken looks just fine. Very seasoned and quality in comparison to even some pollo I get at taco shops. Some people are just extremely picky and aren’t good judges of food. Not saying he’s wrong but I am skeptical because two of my very good friends have told me it’s pretty dang good and I trust them cuz they know their stuff when it comes to cooking! I mean that’s a lotta food for $14!!
Here's a tip for non-fresh tortillas: Try wetting your hands in filtered water and rubbing the tortillas before cooking on a pan/flat grill, don't add too much water but if you do you can shake it out, while on the pan you must keep on high and never stop spinning/ flipping it (I like to use my hands but a spatula works too) pull it out once it's at desired bubblyness or as soon as the tortilla is no longer sticky. Most importantly don't give up it can be tricky at first but you got this!!!
I disagree. My family and I like it. Just warm up the chicken it’s already cooked. I sprinkle the cheese on the taco. I’ve never melted it. 🤔 I have to try that. The salsa is good and the crema is ok. Just don’t use a lot on a taco.
Yeah I always walked right by these things since for a few bux more you can get a whole chicken + all of the other stuff in Costco quantities and it's basically the same amount of work.
At winco and Kroger everything came in prepackaged. Except one of hem had cabbage and lime we got that off the sales floor. I don’t like containers on top or touching my food. It’s very important that a lot workers do they throw the box on top of the counter then prep items. Very important to leave the box on a cart or put a brown wax sheet under the box.
Except it does taste good, the chicken is full of flavor and you can taste all of the seasonings really well. I coincidentally had this last night on a whim so it’s funny seeing this the next morning lol.
Try Busy Bees Deli in San Pedro! Local deli that sells HUGE sandwiches in the back. They got cold cut sandwiches and hot. You can get their “Belly Buster” and choose 2 meats in your sandwich!
He did it wrong. If you've got people, you just pull up with this. Of course it doesn't have much, but if you've got the other ingredients lying around and junk, then you can definitely add some extra cheese, lettuce, sauces etc. That creama is lowkey a banger. i've gone back to this so many times I'm surprised theres a negative review
Takes literally 40-60 seconds to make one in a single pan, you max your heat to put some char on it. if you want it more juicy you put a tiny amount of oil in the pan. It's borderline their best item, the amount of cheese is the only think worth hating on tbh but it lowers the cost.
If I wanna reheat meat and not lose any moisture I add a little butter or oil and wrap it tightly in foil and air fry or bake it. Usually turns out pretty nice.
Having grown up eating Mexican food, I will say it is not the best or most authentic tasting, but it is a good amount of protein, it is a decent convenient meal for the price. I do not like the green sauce.
By far they give you a lot of food the chicken isn’t dry. You need to add a little water when you reheat it and it’s a taco kit not a quesadilla kit that’s why you ran out of cheese and if that that’s too much work to make, I don’t know how you even have the energy to wake up in the morning and get out of bed
street tacos are one of the best costco items, BUT if you go to Florida and go into Publix you can get the exact same kit, but instead of the cilantro lime crema, it has a kick ass chipotle crema. One of the best premade meals you can buy.
😂😂😅 It was aggressively MID when taking his First bite after he cooked it, THEN the taste improved after he added the salsa AND THEN it went back down to aggressively MID after adding the cilantro lime crema! 😅😂 😂 One ingredient seemed to cancel out the other in terms of Flavor....Haha 🤣
This isn't bad at all. I bought it last week and it lasted 3 meals for me. Less than 5 dollars per meal and it tastes decent. I don't know how you ran out of cheese, I had a lot leftover after finishing everything else.
Huh, I’m not sure how different it is (looks almost identical) but I do like the Sam’s club version, one of the only things I could buy that will feed my brother (professional runner) and myself for less than $20 without having to really cook
Seems like a pretty poor dollar value, tbh. $14.66 for seasoned but dry chicken, a pinch of cheese, a handful of salad, a couple of sauces, some lime quarters, and a small stack of tortillas? Seems like you could do better for around the same price just buying the component parts elsewhere and making it from scratch. A couple chicken thighs, taco seasoning, tortillas, a lime, some salad, cheese, and sauce. Hell, you probably already have some of that stuff already, which makes this an even worse value. Bet they include the tortillas in the weight, I can get an 100 count of those at Sam's Club for $4.98.
IMO the costco pre-marinated bulgolgi is worse. Too sweet even for bulgolgi, and the meat had too much gristly parts. Maybe I got unlucky with my batch. The meatloaf is top tier though.
I total disagree. This Taco kit is a great value and i get 4 meals out of it. Also the green stuff is yummy. Weird being in general his videos are spot on!
Seems extremely poor value when you can buy all the components at Costco (except maybe limes and salsa) and make it at home. I might make these tomorrow since I've got a rotisserie chicken in the fridge.
You can buy all of these separately in bulk for half the price and 2-3 x the quantity. Not sure what the benefit of just having it in the package when you have to assemble it anyways would be. Costco sells 2 lb packages of cheese like $8; I really don’t even understand why anyone would buy this and think it makes sense.
