If you ever needed proof that wearing a helmet saves lives then this is it. No joke , he would not have survived that crash had he not been wearing a helmet. There is no difference between the force of his head slam and the force of someone swinging a metal bat at full power to the back of your skull. That's so scary dude. There was so much energy in that head slam OMG and let's not take bigboys head slam on the metal rail lightly, he would have been seriously injured if his head had smacked that steel beam. Please anyone watching if you ride with a crew that thinks helmets are for sissys or they think it's just dumb looking then ditch that crew because at the end of the day they aren't really your friend if they encourage you to do something that could cause you to go home in a coffin. Who cares if you look cool or not ,it's about living to see another day. I'm so glad corey and big boy are okay
Add onto that the importance of wearing a legit certified helmet that’s properly fit and with the strap tight enough. Too many people either wear crap helmets or have their strap so loose that it renders the helmet useless. Cory has taken some of the biggest crashes on the channel (because he goes so big) and he’s in good health because he wears the right safety equipment.
Please make sure Corey replace his helmet with a new after a fall like this! Bicycle helmets are made for only one big impact before the structure gets weaker. Plz like so he can see this!!! Thank god he is ok, hope he takes som time to rest up before riding
Karin Petter Incase you’re new here these guys aren’t amateurs. They’re professionals by every meaning of the word. This isn’t their first crash, they know to replace the helmet better than anyone. He probably bought a new one from the skatepark moments later.
Karin Petter - This is no joke. I was a cheapass and has a couple gnarly falls on my head at the old Chenga in N.E.Ohio, and was like "meh, my helmet is fine. See? I've went through a couple hard hits and it doesn't feel any weaker, I'll be fine." Well... about a week later after a hard hit I had pocket-airing that I went to tight on, I ended up popping out of a baby quarter to do a little side wallride and back in, and my tires slid down the wall. This lead to my shoulder and head hitting the wall (my shoulser hard as hell, my head just kinda mediocre hit the wall, mayve like a 30% of puppy arm's hit) and my Pro-Tec helmet straight split in-half like a lightning bolt shot down it! The left half and right half just shattered apart, kinda jagged like all the way from front to back... It was the most sobering and eye-opening thing I ever had happen to me while riding. Luckily I was fine, because the padding took the blow. But, if that would've been like the previous dead sailor I did when over-popping on the pocket-air I did, I would've been dead.. So, guys, SERIOUSLY replace your helmet after a good hard hit. It LITERALLY can be the difference between life and death, or even paralyzed from the neck down. It's just not worth saving forty to sixty bucks. TL;DR - Your life is worth more than the 40 to 60 dollars you're skimping on over not getting a new helmet when you take a hard hit. Don't be a jackass, replace the damned helmet...
Yeah, if there's one thing I'd wish they'd all do as a group is tighten the straps on their helmets so that they fit properly. A helmet really only works if its on your head.
THE WHOLE CREW SHOULD SIGN CORYS HELMET IN GOLD PEN AND AUCTION IT, WITH THE PROCEEDS GOING TO ROAD TO RECOVERY!! Seriously, I'd bid on it. Upvote this comment if you think it's a good idea so the guys see it!!
Since the skateparks closed, nows the perfect chance to do days in the life with all the boys! House checks, car checks, pet checks, let big boy react to old videos, bring back the K challenges!
Amen my friend. Cory may need a break after this one I can’t see another one of these guys go through that. I know they’re professionals but that’s not the point, a life given is not to be taken for something that can be prevented. Love all the guys so much.
This is the best channel ever! This has literally inspired me to get back on the bike after 7 years away from the sport. Scotty, you are truly an inspiration brother. You have the best team and group of friends around. Next time you are in Baltimore, post it up!
Cory was killing it. Glad he's alright and hope he doesn't have any problems with it. Excellent riding to all the guys as well. Thanks for the vid of Ray's awesome park
Im watching this with a shattered leg right now. You guys are seriously my motivation even after being on bedrest for the last 3 months. I cant wait to get back on my bike!!!
unless your a flatlander and dont mind losing teeth and breaking your jaw nose or getting concussion after concussion. flatlanders never really leave the ground.
i need to watch it again but i am pretty sure he puts his hands under just before it hit he took most of the force through his arms it was gunna hurt the backs gunna be the issue here that took a hard hit
thing is corey sticks it but the moment he knows it gone wrong he just lets his body go limp protect areas like the head and just lets it happen the first few crashes most people would have broke there legs corey just goes limp and lets it happen and its the best possible thing you can do in any accident protect your head but let your self go limp it is always going to be the best possible outcome as long as you protect your head from as much impact as possible risk a broken arm over damage to your head but still try to remain as limp as possible dont fight the force just go with it
Thank you guys for the great video. I hope Cory feels better. Can you just see how much better Big Boy is getting. He has a lot more confidence in himself.
Thank God you are being one of the good examples: that's also why I love these guys because they keep it real they keep it clean and keep it safe, always praying for your brothers and everybody else out there be dialed in -be safe, God bless.
thank you guys so much I look forward to watching these kids for the longest time I've had the worst anger issues then I got into bmx and it's helps me but you guys make me just wanna go grab my bike and try tricks I've never even thought about thank you guys so much keep up the good work and never change u guys help more then anybody and give me the motivation to just go try new tricks and not be scared and I can't wait to learn and learn 1of my biggest dreams is to ride with all u guys even Scotty because I know 1 day Scotty will be back to his regular self and be as good as before because I have faith and no one really has faith in me when it comes to bmx besides my older brother and ur guys vidoes give me that faith as well thank you guys so much
Big boy is really impressive! He made so much progress since the first videos. Respect, today, he rides cleanly and sends of big tricks. In french "chapeau bas l'artiste!" keep the fire dude! I love Canada :O
I swear to god every time is see Cory ride and him hit the ground and get right back up and do the trick inspires me so much to make me push myself further and further past my limit every day
Thank god he was wearing his helmet!....He's an ace and normally bounces right back up....Glad he's ok...He's one of my all time favorite riders....B-watchin....
Hey I just want to say I love Bmx and I was whaching the video and I am know going to ride my Bmx and what I mean it that you guys inspire me so much to do Bmx and Cory that crash tells me to get up and do it again thanks so much for still going and making videos
Cory is really a role model, I mean he's a real character! He was cracking jokes about the crash before he was even off the floor. He said "Jesus took the wheel" And I loved when he said "I'm glad that it happened to me, and not one of u guys". That's why Cory is my favorite person on this channel! What a guy!
I'm glad all of the scotty cranmer crew wears helmets, this is the perfect example of why we should wear a helmet while riding. Stay safe out there and keep on riding
Scotty you are my inspiration to start riding bmx more but recently i got my bike stolen but i still look up to being as good as u and i try to do new tricks everyday but i usually can only ride when my friend is with me because of my whole bike issue but keep up the good work and i cant wait to see u start doing tricks again
thank god for the helmet corey, man i hope you are feeling alright concussions are no joke i hope ya didn't get one from that and if ya did i hope ya take it easy for a little while. Amazing video! holy shit corey is a legend... keep destroying it!
If this channel doesn’t teach anything else, they certainly have saved lives teaching the importance of a helmet. Cory would have been in serious trouble without it here.❤️
