That's why he's got 600k views and only 2k likes. That's consistent with a 9 minute solo by a sloppy drummer, when everyone knows that ANY drum solo made in front of a crowd gets boring after 30 seconds. Even if you're John Bonham.
This cat isn't even remotely close to the "worst drummer ever". If anything, this kid should be praised for having the balls to get up in front of people and dedicate a solo to his late friend.
+StanlyCamChmpion ok but you realize this title was made to get him attention. He had a few moments where his rhythm was sloppy (mostly when he was playing double bass and taking off his shirt) but you only think it's shit bc the title said it was shit so you had yourself convinced it was. Either that or you want people to think you could do better. Also maybe you don't see how good it is bc you mistake the outlandish, intricate syncopated beats as "no timing" but only someone who has no drumming experience could mistake the two. And idk how much more variety someone can have, he has syncopated beats, straight forward beats, ram-fests, grooves, double bass licks, tom runs, cymbal breaks. So yeah, I just think you're being unfair bc this is really good
I'm a drummer, so I came on RU-vid to find good drummers, to see their technique. I came across this and thought it would be funny to watch. But.....DAMN, This guy is da bomb. And the fact that he goes on stage to do it. I do the same and it ain't easy. WHY DO PEOPLE THINK DRUMMING IS EASY?!?! IT IS ACTUALLY QUITE HARD AND TIRING!
+MCsparks I have no clue why anybody would say that. I wanted to play drums because of the movie "that thing you do" Tom Everett Scott made it look so cool and easy but when I actually tried to play them for the first time I realized I just had no rhythm for it. So... I took up guitar and haven't looked back.
His timing is off in parts and he is slightly sloppy here and there but.....overall this guys got a fair amount of serious talent. I sincerely enjoyed every moment of his solo. Minor mistakes aside, he knows what he is doing. I would jam this guy. Is there some sort of inside joke I'm missing here? Because this guy is a pretty damn good drummer.
The title should read 'The worst video camera work shooting a drum solo ever' But seriously, the loose bits add the human dimension to live music which set's it apart from computer based drumming. Give me real any day, mistakes and all...
Yeah lars is horrible,he travels the world and gets paid for it,how horrible.oh yeah and he somehow is in th7s band thays the b7ggest metal band of alltime, but hes horrible.
mike newbill Metallica's drummer and guitarist aren't all that great. The fact that it's their job, doesn't mean they're good. One Direction get paid too. Lars get too repetitive sometimes, and most of his "good" things aren't shown, especially not in their late albums. Kirk is just too chromatic and consistent. He need to maybe just sometimes 'slip out' of his Em scale, and hop on some other ones, with some more interesting licks.
Shayded true, but all in all most drum solos people don't like because drums don't stand all that well on their own in my opinion, in coming hate comments.
supercrusher9000 that is because most drum solos lack composition. You can play a really compelling solo if you know how to compose something and not just throw a bunch of chops together.
Don't see what the problem is. He seems like an overall solid player with a pretty good set of beats and fills. Only thing is that when he changes up his patterns, he instantaneously changes the tempo, so the structure and transitions could use some work. The audio also isn't the best. Still, nowhere near a bad drummer, let alone the worst ever.
This guy can definitely slay on the drums, minor mistakes aside. If anything, I actually wish I can take a beginner's lesson from him - at least he really, really knows what he is doing.
Guys... Please understand... Not tuning... Recording quality, out doors, weather wear on the skins (expansion, contraction of the wood and skins) as a sound tech, and a drummer... I approve highly!!! Great job "worst Drummer"!!!
As a lifelong drummer, I would NOT call this the worst drummer ever. Not even close. The kid has good chops, albeit sloppy at times, but still played a pretty decent solo. I was expecting to see a total train wreck, but his playing was far from that. Rock on kid.
He's a great soloist. He has sold time feel(until he changes the theme of the solo), he can apply rudiments to his drumming, he knows how to give it a pulse and a theme that changes which are two huge aspects of soloing itself.. He's awesome. Anybody that can't see that objective doesn't the concepts of drumming or soloing. He's got great chops
Perhaps a bit disjointed at times, but the guy has some tasty fills, he clearly knows how to play drums. Not bad at all, in fact pretty good for the most part. I believe he is a more song-oriented guy.
You people haven't been on you tube very long. People make up bullzhit titles to attract people to the video so they get alot of views. I can't believe nobody here understands that.
***** advertising 101. Unfortunately, sometimes the best way to get some exposure off youtube, is to make people think they're in for a laugh at other people's fails. It is a very well played solo
well he can play double bass but that don't necessarily mean that he plays well hence , most of us say that Lars can't play double bass.:D P.S, he is the worst famous drummer in metal music industry.Assess fairly. I don't want to be rude or offend anybody but he simply can't play double bass properly.
***** 1.of course I'm fully aware of it, they are among the pioneers of trash metal and their old songs were, are and will forever be masterpiece 2. Lars Ulrich is the founder of metallica, he even came up with names and is equally responsible for almost all of their songs compositions alongside hetfield so firing him is totally out of the question even Kirk was not original member (even Newstead) and Robert as we all know, is the newest member among all of them. 3.I'm a metalhead and Pantera was and will always be my no.1 band and Dime my no.1 guitar is- *Rest in peace Dime brother-* 4.Even now I still listen to Metallica's old songs and man I still headbang alone in my bedroom (it's always awesome), but my comment is based on how Lars is as a drummer NOW*, not before . he created some of the masterpiece back in 80s and 90s and I love that but it's sad to see him and Metallica not being what they used to. Now, don't say that they're aging which is correct but others bands like anthrax, slayer, Megadeth are still going at it and some of them have even brought new exciting turns and flavors into their music but I've not being into their music since reload album I mean you can hear it for yourself, It's sad for me to say this but Metallica has been degrading. anyways Lars can't improvise as per needed for band, even there's a video where even Lars get pissed off at himself for not being able to bring something fresh and new element to song composition. I don't mean to be rude but this is the reality, he is in the back of the line when compared to others drummers of both his age and younger ones and he has become really sloppy over these years and Metallica items doesn't sound anywhere near like trash metal but this can be an issue only with me. Judge fairly. \m/
Killed it!! I've been a drummer for 14 years and yeah he messed up a few times here and there but this guy is talented! Fuck all these haters on RU-vid most of them have never touched a pair of sticks in their life lmao
People who think its weird that he took his shirt off obviously have never been behind a kit and have never been to warped tour or seen a metal band live
He sound good to me don’t know the caption says worst drummer 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️. Let the guy be great and us drummers have our different style of playing drums.
bibby42, you will only realise how hard it is to drum until you actually begin to play, and while his solo was imperfect, he did do many things which are ALOT harder than they look, good on you Adam Conran!
I expected this kid to suck. While I only listened to the first 5:20, he showed balls, chops, good tempo, and musicality. those are the most important things in being a "good drummer". I'm sure now, two and a half years later, he's doing really well.
Certainly not the Worst Drummer, EVER! This guys isn't terrible and there're some FAR worse drummers. But at the end of the day.... Does it really matter?
To all the people out there who like to make comments about how good or bad others can play here are some things to remember. Music is about expression and enjoyment. i play the drums and not very well. i play in a band and we get a few gigs here and there. people love what we do because we love playing and people can feel that when we play so please remember its not about how good or bad you are but its about enjoying what you do and doing what you enjoy. having said that Dylan Elise is a drummer that i could sit down and listen to all day in fact you could tie both his arms behind his back and he would still be better than me but i dont care because i love to play.that's all thanks
I'm probably not a big expert on drummers, but this guy is at least halfway decent. He definitely beats the shit out of the douche bags I had the "privilege" of playing with! xD Misleading video title-DISLIKE!
Beavis Dupont Wannabe** jazz drummer. You should elaborate. This guy isn't at this level when he takes a bunch of cheats. Also, ***** why is it so absurd to dislike the drummer when he misleads his titles so people give him attention?
Being as you said, not an expert, you might miss a few things. As a musician of 30 years and a drummer of 20 years, I can see a whole lot. His playing is not terrible, but it is lacking dynamic, style and feel. It is just a lot of rote chops that don't really say or mean anything expressive. Except for "look what I can do on the drums!"
this guy has good chops. best drummer ever? Ringo Starr or Charlie Watts. bang on meter and decent chops. they understand it's the song that is most important, not how fast or complicated you can be.
Not a bad drummer. Sure few tempo transitions here and there. But the fact that this guy played and is still playing with all he's got is still music to my ears. Trouble of course. Guts absolutely! Rock on brother!!!
Not the most creative solo by any means, but this guy definitely has skills! Dropping your stick 30 seconds into the solo is never a good sign though. Then again I have also seen Brian Blade drop a stick 30 seconds into his performance as well, it happens to the best of us. At least he had more sticks to grab. It amazes me to watch professional drummers who do not have extra sticks handy. For the record, Lars is completely overrated, but as a band, Metallica rules! Also for the record, the worst drummer is the one who is too afraid to play in front of a crowd, and especially in front of a camera!
I played drums for 8 years with many bands and had many lessons. This guy's not bad. He definitely needs cleaning up and metronome work, but I'd categorize him above average in relation to my late teenage-20 peers. Also, those that think you can measure a drummer from a single solo need to understand music. The point of a solo isn't to show off all that you know.
+za moua I can't remember the last time I read a comment where somebody actually understood this! Thanks for the comment, hopefully more people see it!
Average isn't a bad thing, He is good and has some nice chops, but i know a shit load of good drummers with nice chops too, this is mostly the level you get after 10 years of daily drumming !
