Excellent video! I loved that you shared alternatives. I am one of the Delina haters. It is so overpowering and sickly sweet. It is one of two perfumes that have actually made me sick to my stomach!

When I heard you say Layton is probably disliked because people keep hearing about it and are getting of the; as a result, lost popularity due to being common and designer like with a high price tag. I thought to myself Baccarat has to be on the list somewhere. LOL! I have to admit as well, I smell Baccarat Rouge everywhere I go as well. Even at Walgreens once smelled Baccarat Rouge. That's how common Baccarat Rouge is these days.

The Carolina Herrera Very Good Girl is divine. I bought it recently on your recommendation and I'm obsessed! It is in an affordable price range too. A $400AUD bottle of perfume is just not in everyone's budget; so thanks for including it.

It breaks my heart to see Nishane - Ani made this list. It’s the perfect vanilla for those of us who don’t want to smell like a cupcake. It’s my scent for the fall/winter holidays and it performs really well. I love Gris Charnel! I can’t stand Santal 33 and Delina! Everyone is wearing BR540, don’t want to smell like everyone else.

I first heard of Angelique Noir from you and after getting a decant, I have been saving up for a bottle since. It is HEAVENLY! I never tire of my eyes closing in ecstacy whenever I smell this. This is so far the only perfume that made it to my bucket list. Thanks ever so much for introducing me to it. PS. Awww I love Montale! Orange Oud and Roses Musk are incredible!!! 💕 It is sad to me that people dislike it. Orange Oud just smells to me of my mom, of a hardworking warrior woman who wants the best for their family. It will always be in my top 3.

I'm Persian and we have a kind of rose water called "Golab" and it's just like delina I think it's about 1$=) I really don't understand the hype it's nothing but boring Rose

Ani is very vanilla-y and enveloping in the dry down and I get alot of ginger. I don't get berries but I think that's the interesting part of fragrance... Everyones chemistry is different.

Love your videos. Can you do a video, where you’re going on a date. You have your outfit or dress and show what products you would use in your bath/shower routine. Shampoo, lotion, oil, deodorant, perfume etc. Would love to know how you would layer a perfume for a special night/occasion.

To me Delina smells like an air freshener from the eighties. I only smell rose and it's way too aggressive. YSL Mon Paris Intensément is the sweet fruity rose I hoped Delina would be.

I also discovered Gris Charnel on this channel. Unfortunately, it didn’t work for me. I can completely understand the appeal, and it’s a gorgeous scent, but it gives me a headache every time I wear it. Good thing I got a sample with the full bottle. I’ll be returning the unopened full bottle 😢

It breaks my heart seeing Santal 33 received a lot of hate everywhere I go. For me, Santal 33 was like the BR540 for most people and a great entry level niche perfume. I love the super dry sandalwood and the slight animalic from the leather and papyrus. But as an alternative, I think Serge Luten's Santal Majuscule is a great alternative for that creamy sandalwood.

Excellent video, as always. I really appreciate how you provided alternatives to the ‘hated’ scents. I agree with you being sad about a few of those scents being on the list! A scent that is closer to Layton than L’homme Rochas would be Tommy Hilfiger Impact Intense.

Hello Josephine, Ani grew on me. The first time I wore the sample I had, I was undecided and the second time it was full love and I had to buy it right away. It's interesting because sometimes cedar and ginger can be reminiscent of each other in fragrance and I happen to love both of those notes along with spice. The patchouli adds depth that most vanilla fragrances don't have. That keeps it interesting for me and I got a compliment on that second wear with helps with the enjoyment. I bought it last Spring and I love it. It was worth it. Considering it has a truck load of dupes other channels talk about it can't be that unloved. Buy what you love it, if it works for you and who cares what others think. We wear fragrance for ourselves most of the time anyway. I like that less people want to wear 'my' choice in a vanilla fragrance. - Jenn

i love Baccarat Rouge 540... i know it's popular but that means it's a good scent, just like santal 33, there are a lot of clones but nothing comes close to the original. i also dislike the idea that some people like to be exclusive and tend to dismiss great items just because they are "popular". chanel medium flap is definitely popular but it doesn't mean it's not a good bag, i mean things like santal 33, baccarat rouge 540, hermes kelly, chanel medium flap, burberry scarf, they leave footprints and they kinda have some effects on the market. things are popular because they are excellent. to appreciate great things don't make you cheesy, intentionally dismiss great things so you can be exclusive and unique do.

I totally agree about Ex Nihilo Lust in Paradise. It’s like ‘Delina Lite’ and much more tolerable for me when I don’t want the power of Delina. I also love Mizensir’s For Your Love, but wish the performance was a little better. Great picks!! ❤️

Gris Charnel is one of my favorite fragrances ever! To me, it’s crazy that some people think it’s overrated. While I agree that a lot of Montale and Mancera fragrances smell synthetic, Chocolate Greedy from Montale is sooo good.

I think many people chose Ani because it has a very sharp ginger note at the beginning. If they were patient and waited a bit for it to dry, I'm sure they would have a totally different opinion. keep it up, you're amazing

Gris Charnel gives me a migraine, I had to wash it off. Thankfully I had a decant and didn’t buy it blind. I’ve seen other perfume reviews say the same thing that Gris Charnel gives them headaches and makes them nauseous

Delina is my go too right now and i always get compliments especially from men. It is to be used in moderation the opening is strong but the dry down on me is very powdery n sweet for some reason n last all day. It's surprising to me that it got bad ratings. Im never going to stop wearing it.

I like Eau Duelle, loving Gris Charnel although it wasn’t love at first sniff. Haven’t tried Ani yet, but I’m very curious, it’s hard to find it where I live. Lune Féline it’s on it’s way and Yasmine on my Xmas wish 😉. Delina it’s far too sweet, I prefer Ex Nihilo too! Voilà! :) Another great video! ❤️👌🏻

I dont know but to me the Baccarat Rouge smells like a lighter version of Oud for Happiness somehow. When the marketing works so well then the niche perfume is no more niche. 😛

Armani Figuier Eden is a very pretty fig scent. Penhaligons TBY is full of cinnamaldehydes and other ketones from musk. It's not like the cinnamon found in spice, let alone the cardamom in Gris Charnel. I don't know how she is comparing cinnamaldehydes with cardamom and sandalwood. They are 2 completely different fragrances.

I believe Baccarat Rouge is a masterpiece. The fact that it might be worn by so many makes it a product of its own success. I can understand how someone can come to get tired of this as it loses its uniqueness. Gee, one doesn’t wear the same clothing every day. Rotate your fragrances to keep it always fresh!

I personally can't stand the smell of baccarat rouge. On me, it smells like harsh antiseptic and sticks to the inside of my nostrils, almost irritating them. I get why people like it, but it's definitely not for everyone.

I like Ani. I'm not sure if i would wear it outside. To me it's kinda home sent. But some people seem to love it. Also I think that there is free bottles what makes a difference. And we all have different nose so we can't be wrong . What I like about you is that you like dior honne.(the first one) so I think that you are legit 😁

Hello Josephine Mancera Aoud Lemon mint I think is a great option from the house in my opinion it smells amazing lasts and lasts and is great attention getter. I’d say it’s a good option for summer evenings outdoors because of the projection. It has that blue feel to it but is not reminiscent of other blue scents. Give it a try if you haven’t already. The problem with Niche frags that become too popular is that they become copied which in turn cheapens the profile of the original scent. For instance to me creed Aventus became so popular and so copied and loved that it now smells like a common frag. The same now is happening with BR 540. Ariana grande cloud smells so close in the air so your expensive well executed MFK scent profile is being worn by teanage girls which in my opinion kills it.

I absolutely agree with you on Gris Charnel. I have tried samples and it was way too much fig for me, I normally hate fig (so could not make friends with Parisian Musk 😥), but all the hype around this frag just got me going back to it again and again. When I decided to just cover myself with the sample (not just a tiny dab) and wear it properly for a day, I was blown away by how it opened on my skin. Later in the day, I kept getting this beautiful scent and I was wondering what it was… and then… yep, it was meeeee! Just beautiful! I love it now so much I also got the extrait version as well. Bc.. why not 😅 Don’t like Ani , did not get any vanilla in there at all. I own Guerlain AN and love it and even though at the time of testing Eau Duelle i don’t think my brain was ready for that just yet, I at least def got the vanilla in there. You got me hooked on Penhaligon’s portraits lol I bought the Constance and now def getting Yasmine, it’s beautiful, I actually like it better that Constance. Same for Lune Feline- you’re the reason I bought it. I like it, but for some reason never want to wear it. It’s really smoky to me. I get more smoke than cardamom, and vanilla. But really really smoky. Love Layton! Hate Delina with a passion. To me it smells so screechy and florally sharp. Of all the Delinas, my preference is La Rosée version, if I had to pick one. But not a love. BR540 - the tragedy of my life lol First time I tried it , it was love , my eyes were rolling inside my head. After listening to some reviewers that mentioned medicinal aspects, that’s all I could smell - iodine, bandages, just hospital hell. I have samples and return to it every few months, but no, the brain doesn’t work that way. Once you smell smth , you cannot unsmell it. So unfortunately for me, I could not wear it. A few times I tried the sample on , people were complementing me left and right, but I could not enjoy the scent. 😭😭😭

Best Layton alternative: Apply lil bit of Vicks then spray Burberry London on it 😄 Great vid Madame J…Haven’t delved enough into niche houses other than PDM, Mancera, Creed, Arabian Oud….I would say liked among my collection is Cedrat Boise and my favorite would be Pagasus and Kilian Black Phantom but BP has really bad performance on me…also love Mancera Red Tobacco Don’t have BR540 but I have Instant Crush which smells a lot similar and honestly love the scent itself….I feel like it just a very specific style that you need to pull it off for guys…..I smell BR5490 all the time in the gym though and have to admit it made me even less interested in Instant Crush 😏

Great video as always! Love many of your suggested fragrances, but was SURE you'd recommend Parisian Musc by Matiere Premiere as an alternative to Santal 33! :) Love that one. I'm getting increasingly turned off from brands like Montale and Mancera that don't have an environmental policy/ note about sustainability on their site. Would love you to do a video on those that do - i.e. Matiere Premiere, Maison Crivelli, Miller Harris, Sana Jardin, - - or that do something for communities (I think Roja does) or are refillable (like Kilian) - - am getting increasingly drawn to this conversation about some kind of positive impact xx

I love BR540 and Aventus. I have never once been wearing either, and someone else…at a meeting…at an event…at a restaurant…was wearing it. So for a scent that “everyone” is wearing, I would think I would smell it everywhere, but I don’t. Furthermore, I don’t know if I have ever worn Aventus, and not gotten at least one compliment that day.

I totally agree with Rochas L'Homme is a nice scent. But it's more similar to BDC Edp than Layton. I think another affordable one, Tommy Hilfiger Impact Intense is more similar to Layton. Thank you for your advices and nice contents.

Your take on Ani is interesting. On my skin, its spicy and warm. I actually wanted it spicier, just like African Leather is. I prefer African Leather. Mancera and Montale are both awesome. My top 5 scents for life include 2 montales.

The closest scent I’ve found to Gris Charnel is “Fig Fever” by Hermetica. It’s certainly not a “dupe” by any means, but it’s a cousin! I still think it pales in comparison but thought it was worth a mention!

An alternative to Layton is Lalique White In Black. It’s pretty much a clone of it. Very well done alternative

Détour Noir by Al Haramain Perfumes is a clone but it is not produced anymore. Smells a lot like Layton in the drydown

I'm surprised by this list, but people like what they like. Niche is my favorite, so I have an appreciation for unique fragrances and enjoyed just about every fragrance listed. Not Santal 33 tho LOL although I see it's appeal.

I got your gift code samples from Maxaroma. I’m glad I did! I wasn’t a fan of one of them (Gris Charnel Extrait) I was considering blind buying it. I like the other two a lot though.

I love your description of Ani! I absolutely agree that it smells dry like a sauna. I never took to it. It doesn’t work well on my skin. The two alternatives you mentioned are two of my absolute favourites 😊 I love love both!

I HATED Oud Tobacco! I sold it real quick. I love Oudmazing from Montale and Holidays from Mancera. There is that edge un Gris Charnel I don’t like 😭. I still don’t want to sell it though. And Ani used to smell like a perfect vanilla and now it smells gross to me also😭. What happened? There is something in Layton I don’t like either unfortunately. Delina is hated because it is sour and off! Nauseating.

I think Dusk by The Woods Collection is the closest Layton dupe. It s not alternative though, because it smells almost the same. It s maybe a copy.

Have you tried fig infusion by essential parfums? I find it to be a fresher and more fig focused version of gris charnel. I love both but I may get fig infussion because I live in a hot weather country.

Super video..i am waiting so see Montale Perfumes....so you dont recommend Montale Starry Night ? That i was told is good , but i never try it..today i got my TF Ombre Leather..i like it but just have to use to that smell..its different , not so easy to like , but there is something nice and sexy about it... Plus i got a Tom Ford Lipstick for my GF Club de Nuit Intesnse instend of Creed very long lasting What do you think about Narcizo Rodrigez For Her i heard very good opinions...again i love you're videos and you're taste that never let me down with blind buy stuff. 🇵🇱🌹🍷

Yeah... Layton is not the worst but it was hyped waaaaaay too extremely. Exclusif is much better.
