There are countless things an Ink Master needs to be good at and, well, freehand tattoos are one of them. Considering the daunting task of tattooing with no stencil, these tattoos aren’t actually all that bad, but they still caused these artists to close up shop.

I really don't understand how you can have a video titled "Worst Freehand Tattoos" and start with a clip showcasing the talents of both Jesse and Anthony. Neither of them did anything even remotely close to a bad tattoo so why were they even featured?

Yeah, Ive looked up Chris Nunez's work and there are so many contestants that I would let tattoo me before I would let him. Yet, he is so critical of all their work and they are ten times better than him. I honestly wouldn't be interested in getting a tattoo from Chris.

My dad was actually on this show and the judges did not like the tattoo he got LMAO. he got a phoenix they said it looked like a turkey. We named it Gobbles it’s on his back now and i honestly think that if my dad never heard what the judges said abt his tattoo, he would enjoy it more but oh well

I don’t disagree with you but I also understand what the judges were saying. You want the tattoo to fit the person. Like doing a pink and rainbow cute bunny tattoo on a big burly guy would be silly. As for Jesse’s tattoo it might not look necessarily “feminine” but it doesn’t look masculine either. It’s actually a kind of nice unisex tattoo. It’s got cute big eyes and teeth for females but also a outlandish and even bit of subtle gory aspect for guys. I feel when the judges say soft and feminine they mean in sort of the techniques like not using such bold or harsh outlines or leaving more skin breaks

It’s a competition. Anyone watching will know the product will suffer, they are under time pressure, arbritrary constraints, and forced to do styles they may not normally do (portraits, when they specialize in new school)

If they're so good at freehand i wonder why they do so bad at pin up day and portray day. Portray is way more difficult but pin up? With a stance? How difficult can it be to tattoo? Yet they always screw it up

@@areswalker5647 The human body is the hardest thing to draw. We’ve evolved to notice every little detail. There’s no room for any mistakes. It’s insane to expect a good portrait/full body in six hours, especially from someone that doesn’t usually tattoo people.

Can we just acknowledge the balls that Anthony had? When going up against Jesse Smith, the new school free-hand specialist, who was doing a regular sized new school piece and about as far in his comfort zone as he could get, Anthony, a black and grey realism specialist, decided to do a giant full-color American traditional back piece, a style that he has already had trouble with. Probably the boldest thing I’ve seen anyone do on this show

Jessie and Anthony shouldn't be on this list. It's hard to draw on paper or tablet without reference. It's even harder to do it in marker cause it's hard to go back and erase. It must be INSANE to tattoo a freehanded drawing and have it turn out that amazing. They are insanely talented and pulled off beautiful pieces of art.
