I actually started watching you guys just as the first lockdown began so I thought the puppets were just the show's gimmick. Then I went back and watched your earlier episodes and realised that you are two actual human beings and the puppets have some deep lore behind them.
that's an understatement. I've been following them for 3 RU-vid channels and I'm still lost. whoever first made that Billie ray walrus should be credited and receive royalty checks is all i can say haha
Same here! I stumbled on one of their videos randomly (It was one of the list videos) where they don't appear. Then noticed the worst games, where again they don't appear. Then found a playlist going right back to the start of worst games and worked my way through that. It wasn't until about 4 months ago that I realised them going off camera was lockdown related. The light bulb above the head moment.
This was actually the best home alone game lol. Avgn already did a video with all the worse games including the nes and snes titles . This game was actually fun
When I first got this game as a kid I had no idea what to do. Like a year later when I figured out what the point was and how to set up traps in houses before the Wet Bandits got there...I remember it being fun as hell. The game sucks if you have no idea what to do, but once you figure out where the Bandits go, make your weapons, and plan your attack, it was actually a smart game for 92.
Worst games? It’s one of my favourites for the Mega Drive - using multiple tools to make glue guns - coal guns etc - all done automatically by pausing - I can usually save all houses
You are right, this game shouldnt be called "one of the worst games". Its actually pretty decent. I cant understand that people have hard to play it. They must be shitty on playing games.
For those wondering why the sound test has numbers and letters, it’s hexadecimal. Each sound is stored in a particular part of the ROM and what you’re seeing is how the game identifies each sound. This would’ve been useful for the developers. If they wanted to replace a sound, they would just have to scroll through here to quickly figure out where it’s stored in the ROM rather than looking through the entire ROM by hand
I loved this game as a kid! This was one of my favorite Genesis / Megadrive games, because it let you craft weapons and even had secret areas in a few houses only accessible by stacking tires. The game even encouraged you to play on the higher difficulty, because it increased the number of available weapon recipes and let you create some pretty crazy stuff, like a blow dryer attached to speakers that wrecked the hearing of the bandits for a little bit, or a rope launcher you could find in the old house's attic by stacking tires on the bed that would bind the bandits up like a Looney Toons character kidnapped them and placed them on the railroad tracks.
as someone born in the 80's, i didnt know it was possible to not have seen this movie at least half a dozen times. also, further cementing this game as a product of the early 90's, i believe thats a michael jackson reference at 30:07
This isn't one of the worst games ever!! I actually have really fond memories playing this. And it - weirdly for a movie tie in which are renowned for being soulless cash ins these days - has a few tricks up its sleeve which were ahead of its time. Having a clock that counts down in real time was awesome and gave you pressure to prepare your traps before the wet bandits arrive. The crafting system was about 30 years too early, and the game play is actually challenging but has depth to it. And on top of all that it has a kick ass soundtrack and is faithful to the licence. What's not to love?
I remember playing this as a kid and the frustration that followed. This wasn't a terrible game. It was very simplistic and you had to strategize to win the game.
I had this game for Gameboy and we would play it on the GameBoy SNES connector. I would always give up because it was just too difficult for a 4-5 year old haha. Also still hoping for Ben under my tree
This was actually a pretty solid video game port that's pretty faithful to how the movie portraying Kevin keeping the Wet Bandits at bay with weapons and traps. A bit repetitive and not much replayability, but still fun to go back to playing as a holiday game. Other console ports of the time period for Home Alone though are not as remembered fondly and known to be rather horrible quality-wise, such as the NES and SNES ports. Do have things to comment on with the game: -The Beginner difficulty will have the Bandits moving in a set order for what houses they try to rob and this order never changes. Plus, the game will automatically assemble weapons for you once you get the necessary items needed to make them when you access the weapon screen. Expert difficulty has this order becoming random and you are on your own to put together weapons. -Each house has a hazard that can effect both you and the bandits: Mansion has a spider, Ultra Modern House the robot, Colonial a ghost, Country House the cat, and the Old House will have set points where you can fall through the floor. -Tires are supposed to be used to jump up to get items that Kevin otherwise can't normally jump up to get. -The Platform and Operator items used for weapons can be disassembled and reused to make other weapons, handiful for swapping out different types of ammo when one kind gets exhausted. -The Wet Bandits won't start to rob a house until a minute after you start a game or after you were able to successfully protect a house after filling their Pain meter. This time can be used to stock up on ammo and tires, and set up traps within the houses.
It's fun how people both over and under remember graphics through the ages. This does NOT look like the eearly 80's! Early 80's means Atari 2600/5600. This is ridiculously far beyond those. It feels also beyond an NES (85). A SNES (1990+), sure. An Amiga (87+) could certainly do this. A C64? much doubt it. My (no-look up) reference for 92 is Ambermoon, Ultima 7 and Monkey Island 2. I think this game fits (visually only!!) roughly But these other games were obviously vastly more complex and demanding - and good - in all other aspects. Ambermoon btw pretty much the (fantastic) Amiga alternative to Dos- Ultima 7.
Apparently.. Mr. Peter McCallister is a prominent businessman (maybe a day trader?) and Mrs. Kate McCallister is a fashion designer, thus all the mannequins that Kevin was able to use in the party scene.
Really surprised to see this game on here. I played this quite a bit growing up. Actually, watching Peter fumbling around reminds me of my first few playthroughs.
Umm, watching this for 5 mins was painful. This is actually a really fun game. I’ve replayed this so many times. There wasn’t many games that let you customize weapons back in 1992. I love this game. If you are terrible at playing it, sure...hate it
I actually really enjoy the Genesis version and every other one sucks imo. I've saved all the houses and captured Marv and Harry to fully beat it. Funny thing is in the movie Kevin doesn't actually save all the houses. It's really either just his house that the wet bandits go to and the Murphy house across the street is flooded at the end which goes back to an earlier scene in the film when Marv leaves the water running in the house and gets a kick out of it.
@@stephspoilsstuff wow, you better get watching it this Christmas then! For me it’s like a tradition each Christmas I watch: the first 2 home films, the Santa clause and the polar express
@@therunawaykid6523 I watched it for the first time just yesterday to review for my local radio station. I liked it 😊 my go-to Christmas film is A Muppet Christmas Carol
A Christmas gift idea would be if somebody told us (or sent us a link to) what the Worst Games Ever theme music is. That tune's pretty catchy. Speaking of which, the Christmas version from this episode was pretty neat.
There was a NES Home Alone game that was terrible and you reminded me of it. I'm having PTSD type flashbacks of that horrible game and I hate you for reminding me :-D
I always look in the comments on these videos and see morons saying “I liked this game” but now I am one 😅 Played it back in the day and the weapon crafting etc was fun. I downloaded this to my Mega Drive mini, love it!!
I had the Game Gear version of this. Hmmm Yeah. Anyhow, while we mat debate the merits of this game, at least we can be glad there hasn't (yet) been a gritty reboot survival horror type remake involving a life or death chase around the McAllister house and graphically realistic portrayals of things like melting the flesh on someones palm or the effects to the face and cranium of dropping tins of paint on people from 15 feet.
The robbers: come in Kevin: "oh crap!" The robbers: take triplejumps supply of worst games How do you think the rest of this would go down? I can't tell if they genuinely hate these games or absolutely love them.
There are *five* Home Alone films (three not featuring Macaulay, yet the fourth one has the character Kevin) with a sixth one in production. The fifth one was released in 2012. Macaulay also is appearing in the sixth upcoming film.
"I'm not much of a Christmas Film guy." -Ben Potter. Ben, I get the distinct impression that you're not much of a Film guy, period. I think you've seen one movie of all the games you and Peter have played. Also, hope you guys got some use out of that PS2 I sent.
I remember this game quite fondly. Although I had it on game gear. It played and looked almost exactly the same, which shows how bad the mega-drive version is.
This is the game i remember from the mega-drive age , once you work how to play and how to build weapon's it realy is one to spend hours on i did. The fact that its difficult to work out is why you get such a range of reviews , i'm not suprised it got a 93%. It really was my Favorite
Did you know that TripleJump has a vods channel filled with plenty of Twitch vods called triple jump vods. did you also know that Ben and Tiny Peter have another older channel called Vidiots.
@@speedwaynutt Boo hoo they hated making lists all the time and working as employees. So they did it on two more channels and still crank out daily lists of "10 clickbaits to watch as you die slowly"
@@JohnUnsub They also do over stuff live streaming, plenty of non list content and have freedom to actually do what they want. What Culture treats people like shit. Ash has been freed and is so much happier over at Playstation Access.
Its the Hexadecimal System in computers which depict a four bit system which is 0= 0000 to F=1111. basically it goes from 0 to 9 and then starts of with A to F in a manner of 0000 -> 00001 -> 0010 -> 0011 and so on.
I picked that game up in the game shop last week I saw the back of the box and instantly put it back it looked terrible. I think there could be a really cool home alone game where it could be like a 3D third person platformer game where you can explore the mccalister home and neighbourhood freely and set up traps and you could have missions to complete, plays kind of like simpsons hit and run
I'm pretty sure I have the answer to why this but also any other old game could have a sudden resurgence in reviews among other activity and it makes total sense although I can imagine that it might look strange if you just didn't think to consider it for whatever reason. It will probably be painfully obvious the moment I say it lol, well it temporarily became "popular" because someone notable dragged it out of the darkness that is irrelevancy or even obscurity into the spotlight on the internet. I'm pretty sure that the angry video game nerd is responsible in this particular case because of his videos about home alone games but nowadays it's not rare at all that RU-vid can boost public awareness about pretty much anything but for this conversation I'm specifically talking about games. So yeah alot of people might become interested in playing it themselves, watch/read more stuff and talk about it which spreads it around some more.
There is nothing wierd about those puppets, Ben and Peter clearly have to protect themselves from other people's bodily fluids and having their sextoys represent them is best way. They were also sent in by audience of some vidiots whom these toys were addressed to, hosts of that show went missing some time ago in probably unrelated tea accident. (jokes aside the puppet thing started when Ben and Peter were at some other company and did become popular before discovering a new friend - Mikey as they call him and starting channel called vidiots under Yorgscast, there they made the mail in bit into full blown show "post some tat" and boy did the audience over delivered with things from statues through paintings to plush toys. There was also strange fascination they developed for Hannah Montana which is where all the iterations of her name come from. Dick Machinko was i believe a character or voice actor in one of the worst games ever games.)
I would like to see a game where you play as a kid and you need to use traps and stuff take down the criminals but maybe like dead by daylight the criminals would try to grab you and tie you you own have 3 times to be released but if you get caught it's permit and it's a game over in the story mode also there could be co-op and play as other kids to stop the bad guys and in co-op it get hard to untie the more times you get grab by the criminals just need to get the money and to get out then get to there van, and they are invincible but if they get too much damage they get stun and they have to wait or other player get them up but the criminals have a few minutes to get out or the cops arrived and it game over for the criminals and the kids win I hope for a proper home alone game or just a game that use the Idea of home alone
