The animation and movement in this game is god-tier imo, but that is undone by ridiculous lag, netcode, absolute dogshit matchmaking and hit-reg issues. and the cherry-on-top is how quickly ND washed their hands off the last entry of their most successful franchise, that it makes me believe there really might be some truth to "Druckmann doesn't care about UC". for reference, UC3 was supported almost all the way till TLOU's release on PS3. I know it was a diff era back then.
100% facts, especially looking at how much DLC we got in Uncharted 3 to Uncharted 4, their excuse was "All the extra DLC is FREE and can be earned" aka they don't want to support the game and add pay2win aspects so people spend more money. Honestly even the beta of Uncharted 4 was actually quite balanced compared to the full release of them adding a shit load of guns that weren't needed at all, Uncharted 2 was bare bones and great. I can rant all day about how ND are these days, but it's not like how they were in the PS3-era (every release was GOATED) and it's hard for me to get hyped by any new stuff coming out from them lately, especially them wasting time and resources on remaking/remastering the same shit over and over....
This video is necessary. I would really like everyone at Naughty Dog to watch it, because it seems like they don't even know there is a community that grew up and loved U2/U3. Fans feeling abandoned like this is the worst experience a gaming company can go through.
The problem was (and still is) that the "New" ND treated UC4 like a step child, all the people that really cared about Uncharted left while this game was still in development, and they where replaced by TLOU developers and Neil Cuckmann (the biggest idiot in all of game developing like seriously how is he the President of ND.) The writing was on the wall with this game from the very beginning, like you said there is no reason why they had to completely change the way this multiplayer plays so drastically, there was nothing wrong with UC2 or UC3 multiplayers, Downs and revives is what killed this game for me, Then adding sidekicks, mysticals, and everyone partying up like this game is paying them to win and your left with an absolute sh*tshow of a game. I haven't played this game consistently since about 2018-2019, and Everytime I play it I get pissed off all over again and how ND dropped the bag with this game
Man this is a sad title to see. I loved every uncharted multiplayer that came out, ESPECIALLY 4! I dont want to toot my own horn, but I was so good at uc4 i could literally carry teams to victory in unranked and ranked, top 1k in the leader board for every game mode (top 300 in TDM), and I dropped 60+ kills with every gun in the game(in KOTH). EVERY GUN. MAN this game truely was the top 4 best multiplayer experiences ive ever played. I literally had to stop playing once i realized I had a legit addiction to the game and hit 4k+ hours from the start of UC4 multiplayer till the start of 2021. It was like a 9 to 5 job for me and i raged most of the time cuz.of teammates and sweaty enemy teams 😂. I just felt this game was perfect in every aspect. Sad this game is kinda slowly dying especially after the DLC road map was finished. This video brought back so many memories of fun and rage.

I met one of my best friends on U2 and we keep in touch to this day. To fill our Uncharted fix, we always come back to play U4. Everytime we return to the game, we end up talking about the state of U4 MP and how far ND has fallen. The other day while we were playing all we did was talk bad about the state of Uncharted and reminisced on how good we had it back then. Talking about the good days and comparing them to the garbage we have now, we get so sad and mad every time. My friend then just said "maybe we shouldn't play this anymore". As a fan of Uncharted I never thought I would hear these words from him, nor did I think id be so quick to agree with him. So from that day we both deleted U4 from our systems and never went back. It just hurts so much to see how beloved Uncharted MP was, to how awful it is today.

Naughty Dog hasnt cared about multiplayer for almost a decade now & its extremely unlikely TLOU2F was ever truly in active development past the draft stage - They abandoned this game like sour milk & after losing about 75% of their overall development team in the past 8 years, its clear the company is treading water with the primary focus either being TLOU3 or another IP. If Uncharted 5 ever happens it will be like The Golden Abyss & I will not have multiplayer. Its a shame because this game has and always has had incredible potential to become the definitive Uncharted multiplayer.
The thing that pisses me off the most in this Multi-player is that I always end up o' the villain side. Like, always. I just did 14 games, and I was on the hero side in only 1 game.
The moment U3 multiplayer got the funny hats with positive/negative traits like TF2, I knew it was the end of it. Only thing is that U4 multiplayer already started kind of in a shitty situation with all the sidekicks/shop/faction point system.

Side note, the reason they stopped making The Last of us Online was really dumb too, their reasoning, "To release and support The Last of Us Online, we’d have to put all our studio resources behind supporting post-launch content for years to come, severely impacting development on future single-player games." So basically a live service game which nobody was expecting, also the game didn't need to be supported for years, it could've been like all their other multiplayer games. Yet they don't care for the multiplayer community for their games anymore really. It's a dam shame cuz they definitely put their "resources" into remastering/remaking the same games over and over (and we still have nothing new), like c'mon...especially for the devs who worked hard on it too, all that progress being completely thrown away, it's just an excuse. Tbh after Uncharted 4, I have not bought an ND game day 1 anymore. I remember in the old days I would be super excited for new stuff from ND, but at this point in time I definitely don't blindly pre-order their games anymore.
Which is a stupid statement they said as TLOU is a such a mainstream franchise now that even people that don’t play video games know about it, they easily could’ve made a profit & then some. It could’ve been the slickest multiplayer as the movement in part II was a sight for the eyes & imagine how people could’ve used in PVP hell even CO-OP shit fighting waves of infected & hunters. With the crafting system, variety of enemy’s, weapons, perks, locations, weather/stage hazards, & so much that fuckin hell is just waiting to be released but nope we just get re-releases even tho we already played the games mostly more than once & nothing new
Honestly compared to a lot of other online games this game is pretty fun compared to them. It just feels great. However it has so many flaws that can’t be overlooked and it’s fundamentally flawed which is the sad part. Uncharted 3 multiplayer will always be better than uncharted 4, but I don’t think uncharted 4 is terrible. It’s certainly not the best but I don’t also think it’s the worst. Out of all the uncharted games though this was the worst one and if I had to get rid of one this one would go so quickly.
God damn, this bro cooked. I agree with all your points on U4 Multiplayer. When I saw that the Multiplayer was lacking features when the game launch all the way back. I was very upset with how much content was scrapped, it makes me believe that the Multiplayer team did not have sufficient time to work on the multiplayer at was rushed to meet a deadline, after-all how many times was U4 delayed? I may have put in like 50 hours into U4 Multiplayer, compare that to U2 or U3 where I probably put in like 800 or 900 hours into them and it never felt boring for me. My Personal Favorite Multiplayer was U2 because of how simple it was and how the game was just different each match. Uncharted 3 was more expanded with newer and fun ideas into the game with a lot of new maps and with better mechanics, these multiplayers were amazing back in the day. Although some Patches in these games kind of ruined the balance in some parts? Some people I knew from the community I used to interact with, said that ND doesn't know how to balance shit. And they were right. Some patches kind of ruined the game a bit. You may not agree with me at all and that's fine, but I do feel that Uncharted 3 was the Beginning of the End. I felt that with each patch U3 was becoming more and more noob friendly and kind of killed the skill. I am not alone in this sentiment as the U3 Community felt this way too, that the patches and fixes made U3 more frustrating to play. Personally, I think it was great and there were some frustrations here and there. But, the idea of ND being terrible at fixes and balancing? I believed that with The Last of Us Factions where the game at launch was super fun and then the fixes came in and it later became a game that brought in a lot of issues and bugs. There was a lot of stuff lacking in Factions to the point that I did give up on it after like 400 hours of game time. The U4 Multiplayer was not as fun as I expected, yeah the gunplay and animation are smooth and designed perfectly. But those are mechanics that were designed by the Core Designers and was already there. I played the Beta of U4 and when I saw Mysticals and Sidekicks, I wanted them off from the game because it made the multiplayer too noob friendly and I only put in 50 hours because I knew it wouldn't get fixed. It did get fixed by adding Classic Mode, but I was long gone from that multiplayer. Seeing this video and somehow got worse in a way was expected, because U2, U3, Factions had the same treatment. And boy the whole thing died. That's my personal story and feelings, but in reality there's not much to add on my part, since you've already covered the obvious and Naughty Dog will probably never create another Multiplayer game ever. Factions 2 or whatever it was called; Killed Naughty Dog's Ambition to create multiplayer side-content and will solely focus on Single-Player from now on. And Man. I remember when Christophe Balestra was excited when he saw two Nathan Drakes on Screen with the other developers and the team was ready bring their A-Game Online. It was so simple, yet so fun.
i loved uncharted 3s multiplayer so much, but when 4 came out i had switched to pc already. i got a month of psplus to enjoy the full game. the premium loot box being the only way to unlock the p90 killed this game for me instantly
I pretty much don't enjoy playing multiplayer theses days... And it's been the case for so many years now. Playing CoD from 2010-12 destroyed my happiness playing online. And even tho I enjoyed U3 Multiplayer, that's not until U4 that i finally find a game where the multiplayer gave me all the satisfaction i needed back then. From 16' to 19' it was my go to multi game. So many good memories, that was the best time ever
If they took out everything you complained about the game would be barebones I agree some guns are op & the survival mode needs work but overall the game is pretty solid & still going stronger 7+ years later One topic you didn’t touch on was the bot npc teammates you get stuck with in some matches going against full on parties.

I played 5 multiplayer matches just to get the trophy and in my team's last match there was a guy shouting and swearing at me, I laugh so much that it made me want to play more just to provoke these kind of people
This game was never taken seriously for a reason. Anyone who was semi competitive left in 2017. it’s a shame this game never developed a proper competitive scene like U2/U3.
Yeah, this was the first online game I ever played so me not really knowing better, I thought it was good, and I played it nonstop. After a while, people I played with all just left, and I stuck around because I didn't know what else to do. I played against parties of 5 master rank players with a team of randoms who probably weren't above level 15. I think I left before cheaters were so common to run into, but I did run into a couple throughout my time playing. Seeing this, I agree with everything and relate to everyone who might still be playing this.
People missing U3 MP is so crazy to me, i was a teen when that was still a thing, i didn't get to experience U2 MP much because of that but i remember it being boring. I understand why it's the GOAT now but U3 MP i always had a positive opinion though, then U4 MP happened. By the gods i've never seen a community so bored bruh, lol starved for content but i stayed for that fluid gameplay. The cracks were there from the start and it only got worse with time, shame really. The loadout system and fluidity of gameplay are still peak, everything surrounding this MP though is not. If they do remake Uncharted 1, i hope they give that game an MP and make it the definitive Uncharted Multiplayer experience. Basically 2 but with U3 killstreaks and 4 loadouts? Idk it might be cool, also hazards from time to time or other miscellaneous brief set pieces. Sand/snow storms, tank/helicopter attacks, waves hitting an area, fire spreading in a building etc. The intros to some levels like the airport and subway maps in U3 i thought were cool too, one can dream
This game also killed the montage community as well. Was so bad that no one cared to make edits for it after the first year. No cinema mode, players were knocked instead of killed right away. Just awful
there's cinema mode in UC4 and montages exist (mostly from comp players where down state is turned off). Only problem with cinema mode is, like everything else in this game, lag.

Had such fun in U2's multiplayer than any pvp game I've ever played and I also played a heck of a lot of U3 and I don't think I played U4's multiplayer that much while early in the game's life... it lacked a certain vibe like its past iterations.
I played this game for a very long time before I uninstalled recently and I think about everything I’ve seen you say in this vid so far is pretty spot on ppl who say skill issue are just ignorant to the obvious problems with this game that naughty dog won’t fix the game just honestly became unbearable for me because of the constant bad teammates and stuff like speed glitching and broken guns that should’ve never been added like krivosk and also forgot to mention blindifiring is the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen in a shooter
Damn i dont think its that bad, i still have fun on it today. But you definitely bring up a lot of good points. Theres definitely tons balancing changes that would be good, but i think if they had literally only just nerfed the china lake and rez packs it would be drastically better. Those are the only two things that really bother me in this game in terms of balance.

Nice vid, the thing with the players who are still playing religiously, is that they are all cheating. I don’t talk about the pubs, but mainly eshub and ranked. It’s sad that this cheating issue never got addressed; and it’s even worse when considering the fact that uncharted 4 is such an easy game, and then you have pathetic losers who have a script for every in game action.
I've been playing Multiplayer ever since around 2018, and to this day, I've still been playing (not as much though). Man, I wish Naughty Dog would come back to this game and add an update. I'm sick of seeing the same update report thing I always do when booting up Multiplayer. I even have a concept for a new game mode, Custom Game, where it's basically just the Trials, but it's treated as an actual match. You're playing a match with bots. It's basically just CoD's custom game feature implemented into Uncharted. Also, I've been wanting to come out about this for a while, and this is the best opportunity to do so, so here we go. The XCR is my favorite long gun to use. I know, I know, it sucks. It's not very good, and I can see where you're coming from. But whenever I use it, it comes in pretty handy (whenever I'm locking in, that is). I dunno, maybe it's the attachments/modifiers I put on it that make me like it. Either way, I love this gun. I still play pretty regularly this game but god, it’s almost just the same things over and over again. Either people using Weapons Expert and pretending their god like for using a broken ass perk… or you play against cheaters. It’s genuinely insane lol.
To those who wrote "skill issue" let me say this..the game has issues technical and mechanically. For many who don't know is that the game is running at 15hz tickrate explains why getting hit behind cover and walls. The grenades are like this ball that can bounce over anything and homing it's target in a weird way wonder if the grenade has aim assist. The cheaters are among the problem and itself it's not fun when the game literally has no report system to report cheaters lile they did with Uc3. The update to patch wall glitches was never fixed as if the devs intended to leave it for the cheaters. In all this video is spot on...like the gun stats are not correct a shotgun has more range than the actual stat that is listed. Leaderboards makes no sense..how can someone be #1 for only playing 1 hour? All if ND multiplayers are so easy to hack and cheat. So again the video was spot on and ppl are saying "skill issue" just let me say you are incorrect.
Despite the many faults of Uncharted 4 Muliplayer it still excels in different ways compared to Uncharted 2 and 3. Borrowing some of the mechanics from Factions did give the game an identity crisis however, i'll take mysticals / sidekicks over Power Plays (from U3) any day of the week. Uncharted 2 is the true experience and worked perfectly fine being a traditional 3rd person arena shooter, but Nostalgia blinds people when it comes to U3, the game had a lot of problems that people seem to forget or ignore. I don't mind most of your vid but I disagree a lot with your opinions on packs, the game is fast paced and not having packs would slow the game down. Lastly, i'd rather have people use packs than nades, the game is team oriented and having explosives doesn't help anyone, especially in koth.
@@akaSilenced Sure but tdm was the most played mode in U3 pubs. Mysticals kinda work like powerups so it isn't that bad, sidekicks are annoying but you can easily get rid of them and get extra cash.

Not liking UNC4 is skill issue (jk), UNC4 multiplayer is dogpoop compared to UNC3 multiplayer 😢... Not having a proper co-op and having such a unfinished multiplayer makes no sense, either way I played for 500+ hours, reached 80+ level and get to 2000 place in the leaderboard... So in a way it was fun.
Never listening to the feedback of the fans makes you wonder if Naughty Dog ever had our best interests in mind, it seems like as they are today, they just want to make the games they want to play and with their status in the industry, they feel like they can just do whatever they want.
The survival mode was a complete joke in U4. Co-op adventure from U2 and U3 were the shit. Still to this day I wonder why they did not bring it back. I wouldn't have mind it if that was locked at 30 fps.
Uncharted 3 & 4 were my favourite Co-op and Multiplayer experiences! and I agree with some of what you said. Issues were/are there, but I don't spend money on micro transactions so I was able to ignore some of these issues.
UC2 and UC3 Multiplayer were by very very far much better than UC4's mp I've spent more than 2000 hours on uc3 mp and barely played uc4. UC4 Mp is more of a TLoU Mp than an Uncharted Mp...
Man oh man this brings back memories...and also salt. BUT in my opinion TLOU1 multiplayer is broken beyond salvation. People in there just spam the weapon that you can buy for real money, they do a stupid amount of damage and people who use them are usually very toxic.
It had some issues but it's still one of the best third person shooters released recently. The only thing that annoyed me were the sidekicks, but I do think the counters to them were reasonable. Some of the stuff in this video makes no sense, like cliphunters like randomness, I don't know man. Back in COD4 when sniper montages really started popping off, players had so many techniques to remove the randomness and basically make their shots consistent. I think cliphunters like games with a high skill ceiling and actually prefer consistency. Personally, I don't want to watch players role dice until something works, I want to see skill expression. I think there's a lot of things like that in this video that are really out of touch with how communities of players experience multiplayer games.

Wasted potencial! It seemed like ND felt obligated to add a Multiplayer to Uncharted 4 since U2 and U3 had one (with a sizable fanbase), so they wasted their amazing gameplay just to check a box. It's a shame really, I have over 800 hours on this multiplayer and I can say that most of those hours were frustration against those cheap mechanics and cheaters as well (don't get me started on the Speed Glitch and the Out of Bounds Sniping), it's sad, with the right balancing and removal of certain elements this could've been the best Multiplayer out of the three.

nah UC4 multiplayer was goated. i spent so many hours playing this game and was top 2% in the world rankings. i just wish it was supported longer. the hunter is some BS tho. UC2 and UC3 mp was goated too.
