You guys are great! If it's not too annoying, I have a (probably googleable) side-question: Will we be able to grind dust by crafting golden versions of the to-be-HoF'd cards?
@@yoruichixx6951 how so? It's a slow card, but manageable. Imo rexxar is pure cancer, the minions that they spawn are broken and with the beasts they already have in their deck it's even worse.
@@romank9611 because it changes the dynamic brutally you are basically forcing the enemy to think 3 steps ahead you have to take bad trades then ALL fckin elementals are healing you which means going face isnt an option anymore which reinforces the shitty board control you have to manage those fckin waterelementals have annoying stat lines and they freeze its just not fun to play against rexxar basically loses his whole turn to summon a strong zombiest yes it can go brutal with rexxar but way more managable than this fucking jaina
And don't forget your Hall of Fame rotation value, that should give you a nice boon of Dust, if you have those cards or currently have Dust saved up to get them. I was wondering if Mathematics was gonna do a video on it. But I guess not.
Hi all, some good arguments here. Considering the 2 now infamous legendary cards are getting the HOF treatment, there is nice value to be had. If you're sure Wild isn't your jam, I'd dust them for sure as well. But I have dusted some cards in the past that I regret now. Even if it isn't viable in high competitive levels. You get the full 1600 dust, so you can technically get it back for free as well. However in general players rarely create it again, since most dust for cards of the new expansion, possibly crafting cards they in turn might regret. . Some cards like the Moorabi I got never appealed to me, and it's widely considered as trash tier. But with Genn and Baku I'd like to take them out after a year or 2 after they're gone. Kinda dragged out but TTL:DR, Don't make rash decisions because some source says so. These videos are very amazing but consider your own gut instinct as well.
Good decision , I used to play exclusively standard and almost disenchanted all my wild cards as they rotated , decided not to and started playing wild after the release of rastakhan, really Glad I did not disenchant my cards The option to play wild is always there
As a person who really enjoys building up a collection, I don't plan to ever disenchant anything. For my style of play, that would be extremely counterintuitive. Also, I would really like to get the pre-order for the sake of having the new Heroes portrait, but there's no way I want to drop that much money. Instead, I'm seeing if I can Farm up enough gold in my Warcraft subscription to get tokens that I can translate into blizzard currency. If I can get enough, I'll just buy it with that and not pay a cent of real money.
Hey some people want to build a collection for free and feel like they won it over on Blizzard. That’s fine by me. Some people play to win as much as possible and don’t mind working and paying real money and that’s awesome too!
For the very first time since U'ngoro I'm not pre-ordering, last couple of times I got barely enough dust to build a single deck, pre-order an expansion is too expensive and you get too little in return, I prefer to just farm some gold for the single player adventure.
I'm basically never pre-ordering again for similar reasons, barring massive changes to the game. The return on investment for each new pack you open gets way too pitifully small for it to be worth throwing more money at the game. I find myself buying 60ish packs when a new expansion drops, and then stopping when I'm at around 6,000ish gold left. The last 10 Rumble packs I opened gave me 9 non-duplicate cards, 1 of which was a legendary in contention for the title of worst legendary in the set.
Shadow Ninja After 60 or so packs you're just getting more legendaries and epics, and Rasta is a set where not many of them are essential at all. That being said, there's a few cards in there that should probably come into play once the rotation hits.
@@Jonius you are right but let's be honest, for 50 dollars you can buy a AAA game or even more on steam, and what you get in hearthstone for the same amount? 2000 dust maybe more if you disenchant some cards, that is ridiculous even considering that an epic is 400 dust not even talking about legendaries here. Hearthstone is just too expensive and not worth the money imo.
well it only says legendaries that will be missed, and Marin is one of them. All of them are just divided by popularity classes, and actually no clear answer which star class should be disenchanted so including Marin on the list is not that big mistake
Thanks for the list. Also, loved those new "organic" moments like the ogre's face expressions and the "card fall accident" - they made the video much more fun to watch. Wondering if the next step (in the future) would be giving some motion to Bot mathmatician and Holomancer. Now, my opinion regarding disenchanting - the only cards I'll be disenchanting are Hall of Fame cards - radical disenchanting is harsh to me as some bad cards have good memories (Bolvar, Fireblood to name one) and I also play Tavern Brawls/Solo content a lot. On the side note, I plan to buy the 80$ bundle because I really enjoy Lazul as a character (unlike Rastakhan previously).
Worth noting that Swamp King Dred is teched in when there are a lot of minion based otks (quest mage, DK Paladin, Mechathun priest, APM priest). Might be worth keeping.
The amount of decks that use him as a go-to, and the amount of collections that have him, would only strictly go up over time. What a horrifying thought. What they should've done in the first place is given us a proper Death Knight class to use forever.
As a wild player, I never disenchant cards. I am free to play now for the last year too and I even crafted cards like The Darkness and I don't regret it. Fun factor is very important for me. (That's why I am still rank 10)
I'm rank 20 because I hardly take the game seriously at all, I rather make incredibly dumb decks, like all 1 attack minions, no spells, all vanilla minions decks and other really bad and fun to play decks. Who cares about Meta decks, they are the opposite of fun.
It's less budget and less value. 13 Cardpacks for 2800 gold. You could buy 28 cardpacks for that. Or, 13 cardpacks for 20 bucks. Still not a great treat. And the golden legendary can't be dusted, and you can get the normal version through cardpacks. That's one of the reasons why I am leaving hearthstone. This year the game has reach a new roof of greed .
@Preston Pan Ok, 12 cardpacks and one golden cardpack. I opened all golden cardpacks they have given until now. Not a big deal. Usually you will just get some more dust. Still not worth it.

this video made me really regret dusting about 90% of my cards rotating out of standard about a month ago. though at the same time, it does help me know which ones to craft back since I'm sitting at 80k dust right now.
Been playing for like 5 years when wild first came out I was like "oh a format that isn't the one I play, guess I'll disenchant EVERYTHING" Me now: desperately trying to rebuild my collection
I blame the devs, they put that thought into people's minds with a lack of promotion for anything Wild while heavily promoting the big changes and improvements Standard will bring. You couldn't even buy the packs/adventures for money, people who wanted to commit to the mode had to CRAFT EVERYTHING EVEN IF THEY HAD CASH TO GIVE BLIZZARD. It was terrible.
I loved this video, but one recommendation might be to add a portion at the beginning of the video that specifies what the real popularity range is. The amount of decks in hearthstone causes even very popular cards to have low percent inclusion. This is also compounded by the fact that most players are casual and can't afford legendary cards at all. It would be easier to intuitively understand if we were told for example that a reasonable range is only between .001-9% inclusion, not the assumed 1-100% giving us a better sense of scale.
I’m a ftp hearthstone player. So far, I’ve only spent money on the original expansions that had a money cost. I’ve been playing since before wild was introduced, and I have a sizable collection, but (and I regret this often) I disenchanted a lot of cards that rotated the first rotation, and several weaker cards that I had not enchanted at a later time. Wild cards are useful as was stated in this video for solo adventures as well as tavern brawls, and for that reason it is nice when you have a big collection, and if you continue playing and especially if you have a little extra money you can spend on the game on occasions you can build a powerful collection over time. When I find myself with extra cash, I may eventually move away from being ftp. And spend money on prepurchasing new sets when they are released.
I will probably buy pre- order on the very last day of it being avaible. Why? Because then I will know most of the cards that will be announced, so I will be able to take a decision whether this new expansion will have some decent cards or not. So far only Arch- Villain Rafaam, Togwaggle's Scheme and Kalecgos and Omega Devastator seem to be quite good, so it would be silly to spend so much money on the expansion given that I already have 30k gold for packs. I will definetely buy new adventure, as it's fun and also can give me some packs
I'm probably one of those freaks of nature that defies statistics. In 3 years, I have never played wild. Nor have I ever disenchanted a card completely. I only ever disenchant something if I have duplicates, or Gold copies. Needless to say, this includes cards rewarded for solo adventures. At this time, my only incentive is for the advantages in Tavern Brawl and Solo Adventures, as you pointed out. I enjoyed this video, and I actually have almost every single card you gave 0-2 stars for. In spite of that, I probably wont disenchant any of them. And I don't know why, I just like collecting them, and I feel a sense of pride and accomplishment for my collection that DWARFS any pride or accomplishment from a few extra victories in matches.

Thx for the video. I like to wait out and see what cards that is to come in the new exspansion.. this mega bundle will be good for the next 2 years in hurtstone for those who go competetive. Also the theme of this exspansion looks very fun.. buuuut it is alot of investment to buy.

Love the show 👍 I don’t know about $80, it sounds really expensive... I’ve been a hearthstone fan for many years now, but it’s getting expensive just to keep up with the game and current meta.
I actually use primalfin champion in my wild Paladin deck that revolves around buffing minions. (And I really do mean just that. If that goal fails I just lose. Not a very serious deck in my opinion but fun getting either landslide victories or defeats much of the time) At one point I was going to replace it but then I realized that echoed "sound the bells" count as separate spell casts on him meaning even if you cast it only twice on him you get fairly high value out of him provided he isn't transformed or removed from the board without being destroyed. Same goes for spikeridged steed which can then be easily cast on a silver hand recruit. It also means more insane value on my Lynessa which is made even better if my opponent exhausted their big removals on my Lich King and Tirion Fordring. I just wish I would get Shirvallah out of a Rastakhan's pack ...
I already bought both preorder, however this month is the first time I spend actual money on the game. The raised necessity of legendaries overall and their "increased" number was already a big push, but a major factor was that this is the first expansion of the year, so I need a good and fast refill, so I can try out stuff when the expansion hits in.
I spent money in the past but i will not spend anymore since i have seen bugs in game repeat again and again, i keep being disconnected (not disconnecting in other games) and i found out it is really difficult to report a bug in this damn game. actually i got mad seeing they even ask for a picture of your ID (WTF).
I've seen enough Hearthstone cards throughout the years to say that no expansion is worthy of pre-ordering or spending any money on, at all, ever. Getting good at Arena is how to get all the cards ASAP, I'm shit at Arena, but still, once you start averaging 7 wins or more it's actually infinitely replayable.
@@livedandletdie I hate playing arena too much. Frozen Throne would have probably been worth pre-ordering because it had so many op cards. I still don't have all of the dks.
6:27 Worth mentioning that the kingsbane rogue isn't super popular at low wild ranks, but it's everywhere in high wild ranks. It's the best aggro wild deck right now.

As an only wild player i can say that priest quest is way better than mages. Emperor enables OTK nobody uses quest today. 7:39 they are all useless too never seen them. 7:56 none of those are good but make for good memes. 8:19 same, only doomerang is viable rest is for fun decks. 8:45 level up as well as void reaper and to my side dont see play, ever. You can see random cards from this list but only statue, gnome and meteor see decent play. 9:30 glimmeroot doesnt see play because operative exists does that but better, i honestly never seen hydra in wild, only from rexxar beasts but few times. I play on ranks 5-legend and your statistics dont match what happens there. You got statistics from all ranks i guess. But if you push for high rank you dont play not-good-enought cards that i listed. Thanks for reading i hope it helped
Waygate is a very good card for making homebrew OTK decks with besides Tony+Fireballs, but I agree that no one really uses it. I did see an interesting suggestion that it could be included in regular Exodia Mage to beat Ice Block, but obviously Exodia isn't popular enough that it can be useful. All that said, my Giants Quest Mage is sleeper op
The Hunter Quest is getting strong sinergy with any Neutral or Hunter cards that give you Lackeys in the next few expansions, so I believe it has the potential to rise in Wild provided that Lackey cards are strong enough for that environment. Zul'Jin is also a potential synergy if the deck becomes popular, since he can recast the Quest, allowing for an even stronger ultra late game along with Deathstalker Rexxar
In my opinion you there is one more card to focus in wild. It's Uther the Ebon Blade. In this rotation paladin lose about all viable decks, because many good paladin cards move to wild. For example genn, baku, spikeridged steed and Uther himself. To make paladin still playable they must add new good paladin cards and I think they want that all classes are playable . In wild otk paladin is not that bad. With cards like emperor thaurissan and time out you will have with some new cards a pretty solid deck. Interesting video as always and have a nice day :)
Just stumbled upon this channel--I am a filthy degenerate who uses the Credit Card in a lot of decks, but this was presented in such an entertaining way that I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. Don't you think how insane is that Alesztrasza is still in Standard? I thought it would be rotaded out with the year of the Mammoth and now the year of the Raven is ending too, and its STILL there, all I know is that I'll still be consistently using it.
Perhaps instead of overall popularity in all decks, class cards would be better assessed via popularity in that class’s decks only. A class that has a very low popularity would of course therefore have low popularity class cards. While high popularity classes get a boost to their cards inclusion rates overall.
Things to consider is that if a card have a specifically quirky or extreme effect but is too slow or whatever normally, it could still shine in brawl. And certain win more card that are bad in constructed might be required for adventures, where you might need snowball momentum (especially if boss can't counter them) I find it ironic that you actually bring up brawl/adventure as potential use and then disregard them completely for the analysis of which cards are worth keeping. At least should have gone through all past constructed brawls and compile a list of all the cards that were extremely useful in those.
I think that they are forcing more into wild and wants to make wild mode and overall game more interesting, because you can use a variety of cards and decks and i think this is great idea. My prediction is that standard mode wont be played as much as wild in future.
One angle you didn't mention in the video is cards with Unique effects and powerful effects should be disenchanted only after you disenchant cards that are just weak. Professor Putricide and Ixalid may be in the same category, but Putricide is a value card with simple effect whereas Ixalid can, in theory, spawn a strong combo deck one day. I would argue you should keep Ixalid even over something like Prince Valanar from the higher category. He is just a 4/4 with Taunt and Lifesteal and he never will be anything more no matter what new cards are printed. Personally I will dust everything though. I have been playing since Beta, but never enjoyed wild. If I want to play fun and innovative decks from a very deep card pool I usually go to play some EDH to my LGS.
I've already disenchanted most of these really bad cards, which on one hand makes me feel smart, but I was also disappointed that I didn't have much to disenchant after watching.
If you only play standard, disenchant all cards going to wild before the rotation and craft the cards going to Hall of Fame that you don't have, gold if possible.
Given that wild is more and more expensive to get I've passed on that all together. I will buy the new expansion pre-order, it is expensive. But this is the start off a new rotation, lot's off changes = fun to try out new things and many cards I do not have yet.
When you give popularity it would be cool to see the % of decks of that class that use it in wild. For example, what percent of priest decks have archbishop benedictus?

I play mostly wild so disenchanting a card is very risky. I do that to cards I dont play at all or just down right hate. I was able to craft all the hall of fame cards in gold. So I'm looking for to the dust refund.
I want a disenchant all wild card button I have so many common wild cards that I just can't be bothered to disenchant as I play on mobile and the ui for the collection is less than user friendly imo
So... if I disenchant the lich king for example, before the rotation and after, I get 400 dust right?? Only way to get full dust value is to have a card be nerfed or hall of famed??
I have a doubt maybe someone can explain me, when the rotation takes place we will receive dust for the cards if we have them in our colection? And the disenchantig profit of those cards will be the same as now or more?
