I like the worm drive clamps that have the convex washers on them that come from big truck shops. They have constant pre-load on them because of the washers flattening out under load. Plus the housing that encases the worm is not just Bent over the sides, it has four teeth that go through four notches and are crimped so they won’t distort underload. They cost a bit more but they don’t screw up
I always replace those tension clamps with those screw clamps ..ive had too many comebacks in my earlier years after doing cooling system jobs ... its just my protocol , i never reuse intake gaskets, throttle body gaskets, exhaust gaskets , and thosd damn clamps... customers hate when they have puddles in their driveways after receiving service
Constant tension clamps are the shit. They’re a PITA to get off sometimes depending on how they’re clocked, but I’ve never had one leak on me when you put it back the same way it came off. Those wormstyle clamps are junk unless you spend some $$$ on good ones
Dave as we both know, gas tube arent going under extreme heat cycles like the cooling system is so not much expanding and contracting although u had a good point lol
Constant tension clams are fucking amazing until you take them off for the first time after that I throw them in the trash and get a hose clamp. Just my 2¢
