I still can't mow my lawn after vacation as I'm still waiting for full nutsedge herbicide translocation from leaf tissue to nutlet...but that doesn't stop me from doing my least favorite chore in the lawn - edging!
At least I got a good opportunity to showcase the disgusting look of a bermudagrass lawn that hasn't been edged in a few weeks. It looks horrible even though the grass itself doesn't look all that bad.
Once the weeds are pulled, and the sedges are pushed back, and the lawn finally gets mowed, then we'll be way closer to a perfect-looking summer Bermudalawn, as close to perfect as I've gotten it so far...last year it was a mixed stand of Bermuda and Kikuyu, monostands are so hot right now. :)
See the comparison of Kikuyu and St. Augustine right here:

Sir, why don't use a pro plugger and and fill some of the dirt patches missing Bermuda? That Buffalo grass looks like a real winner.` Hope you are feeling better.

This covid trip of mine (my 2nd ever) was rough on 7/3, since then it's just been a ton of sticky snot. LOL Not too bad. only my oldest daughter seems to be evading it this time but nobody seems to be doing bad. Thanks; we'll all live. :) As for the plugger, I wish you had advised me to do that back in early May when I was killing off the winter rye. I thought it would fill in by now via spread (made a whole video about it afterall) but it is taking longer than I anticipated. At this point I'm just sucking it up and waiting for the slow and ultimate repair just to show it's possible even though using the plugger would be much faster.

Brian, do you know if that Bermuda is common or hybrid?

it looks like common to me, I believe the seed heads are smaller on hybrid.

I'm working on identifying that right now. I could make an argument about it either way so I'm obviously not sure yet. I've harvested some of the seed to see if it's viable, in a few weeks I may know for sure if I have a common Bermuda (or natural hybrid) or if I have a commercial hybrid. I've been here for 18 months, and only realized I had so much Bermuda 12 months ago; when you don't plant the initial grass it can be really hard to figure that out after the fact without a full lab at your disposal unfortunately.

I thought it was common for a long time because seed heads were so dense....but I'm now starting to think it may be some kind of hybrid. My neighbors tell me long time ago owners of this home used to have a perfect lawn. My neighbor across the street and down one has a hybrid Bermuda from the late 70's so I suspect that it may have been a hybrid placed when I was a kid. I'm currently researching seedhead viability, node distance on stolons, and color. I'm also considering a lot of other things as well to see if I can narrow it down. Thanks for your suggestion to look into seedhead size; that's a variable I didn't think to consider.

@@turfmechanicvlogs I bet if you submit some detailed photos somewhere like The Lawn Forum those Bermuda guys can figure it out for you, to some degree. It could be something like Tifway 419, which has been around since the 80s I believe, Anaheim Stadium used that stuff.
