Fun to play with this. In march I have filled a 17 gallon mixing bucket with soil and made pizza slices to devide the different grass species. Its fully covered & fertilized for the first time already. It includes mixes with Rye (diploid/tetraploid), KBG, Creeping fescue, a full Bentgrass one, different varieties from different companies etc. Just to see the differences. I expect at some point for Rye to thin out and maybe some of the spreading ones to take over. If I keep maintaining it long enough that is.

this is actually a cool video and I haven't seen anyone do it before. Would be cool to do a more strict test with better sizing and watering etc to see the results.

Great video! This is something that I have often wondered and now I know. I’m interested to see what happens when you repot them.

this is amazing, I can't believe how well a single blade of tall fescue tillers out. this is why it's important to read bag rates and not overcrowd your seedlings.

really makes you think twice about seeding above the label rate for these grasses doesn't it!? Give it a year and even a thin seeding well cared for should fill in perfectly

This is amazing. However, that being said. Grass is ruining our coastal areas. Not dune grass but grasses like these... It's still pretty amazing though

I think many have wondered casually, next step up would be putting a single seed in a dirt spot and caring for the single plant for a year+ to see what happens. Even that seems like it may be too hard for me to muster. LOL

glad you thought so; this was one of those long experiments that are hard to gauge interest in. I feel like this was worth it too.
