Born in 1996, ***Lee Da Yeong*** was the star volleyball player on the South Korean women’s national volleyball team. Together with her twin sister, they helped the Korean national team clinching the gold medal in the 2014 Asian Games and they were expected to elevate the team as they develop.
She was on her way to stardom. With her good looks and her viral dancing moves on the court, she quickly rose to fame and had multiple sponsorships from major Korean brands.
However, behind her innocent looks and talent, she was but a bully. She and her twin sister were both indefinitely suspended by their club due to bullying claims, and subsequently kicked from the national team. As if this wasn’t enough, her ex-husband also revealed that he was physically and emotionally abused by Lee, citing that her strength and physique as a professional athlete overpowered him.
After over 120,000 people signed a petition to investigate the twins further, they are perhaps one of the most hated people in South Korea. The twins have moved overseas to play for clubs in Greece, and most recently, Romania.
