When people walk in the road, especially women, it's usually for security reasons - they have less chance of being hit by a car than being accosted on the pavement.!!!!
It is the north side that is bad. Most of the rest is fine. The radio stations are not had. I work in the city. The accents you think are bad are from the Northside of the city.
Cork like a big town 😂. It has a weird feel, why? Most of the bad areas are in the north side of the city. Most of the city is good. I work in cork city and live in county cork.
Oddly enough, given that Cork (City) is more or less twice the population of Limerick (City), I think there's a good deal of truth in that; in fact I've commented to that effect more than once, online. And I'm _from_ Cork! Perhaps Limerick's 'grid' - style street layout is a part of it, Cork's is a lot more higgledy~piggledy! One place which, to me, has always felt more like a busy town than a city, even moreso than Cork, is Galway. (Incidentally, for much of the time that you were talking about Cork, the picture that you had showing on the computer screen was of _Galway!_ ) I've always felt it was a little unjust that in any discussion of Ireland's cities, Limerick, which not only _feels_ bigger than Galway, but _is,_ in fact, bigger than Galway, always seems to get overlooked, in favour of the latter. I suppose, as a tourist destination, Galway has more going for it, both in terms of the city itself, and what's on its doorstep. I think Galway's more 'traditional' sort of 'feel' is inevitably going to be more of a draw to the average visitor than Limerick's more 'workaday' kind of vibe. The worst part (for Limerick) is that for some years now, visitors using Shannon Airport, which is called at by most Transatlantic carriers, can be in Galway City and Connemara, probably in less than an hour, without even having to _go through_ Limerick City at all.
Quick question on my end: are people from ireland allowed to work in northern ireland? Citizen information say there is the free work zone so in the UK Irish are allowed to work there. Not sure about Ulster.
Carrick on Suir is a horrible place like a lot of Tipperary. I would have also added Tipperary town, it's so run down that I almost screamed looking at the the place. Carrick on Suir had a wall that had graffiti saying "Rats out" In bold writing which says everything about the place..
People were talking about Tipperary town yesterday at work and how awful it is. Economy bad, not many jobs etc. Even a gut at work from there said it is a horrible place to live, depressing too. It is like the government just forgot about it.
