Because after all these years VR still hasn’t fixed that whole major movement problem: why am I still a paraplegic playing these games? I still have to use my hands in some way to walk or teleport? If you can’t fix that, it won’t be superior to keyboard based movement.
Absolutely agree with Pyro about how the presenter seems so uninterested. I don't even blame her as it's difficult to be excited about anything with this. I initially thought why not get somebody who is actually interested in video games to present it but then I realised nobody actually interested in video games is going to involve themselves with the meta quest.
the entire time i thought "this lady is ai generated" (even the smoke for the ghostbusters bit was clearly edited in), or just thought of the thing from a few months ago where mark zuckerberg goes around a shitty 3d house and theres a bottle of ketchup on the shelf or something
This is what happens when out of touch board execs produce a game announcement on market research data from only Facebook. Soulless. Corporate. Good looking, but not that good-looking of a presenter. Bad jokes and references to make the suits chuckle. It looks like it's more for out of touch investors than actual customers.
sums up all girlboss shit in the corporate sector, all those trophy HR and strategy exec feminists bragging about doing bare minimum on linkedin all while piggybacking off the efforts of the men who actually get shit done instead of whining about muh pay gap
@@aman.jain2011 If she was an “exec feminist”, she’d be trying to incorporate unnecessary jokes about men and women, and/or making stuff about gender for no reason. Also, this is Meta/Facebook, so I expect them to not even be human or have proper emotion.
She’s the executive producer at Oculus….I think she knows what she is talking about lol, the problem is that the content is garbage and impossible to get excited about.
Idk why they show how you look outside of the VR game. I wanna escape reality not be constantly reminded I'm dancing by myself in my dark room as everything crumbles around me.
Games that I was really excited for wasn't even showcased, "we are one" had a cool concept but it was ignored and quietly released on the store, same with Battle Talent and Killer Frequency.
Some people have better motion sickness resistance than others so they can handle stuff like that. I know this because when I was young I spun in circles constantly and very quickly I became immune to getting dizzy. Even now I can handle VR with no motion sickness when the rest of my family gets sick in like 30 second without a blinder.
She's a facebook ad exec with an mba, she was moved to their vr division against her will. She regrets being a girlboss her whole life to end up being the face of niche segment of a dying company.
I think they literally just picked the prettiest woman amongst themselves (meta corpos). My mum has experience in corpos and thats literally how presentations look like - soulless, motionless, in fact as an employee you don't even need to listen to them (just be present in the call) because no one cares. I felt like they did the same here
The thing with the quest is that while the hardware is exceptional, The game selection is abyssmal. Most game experiences (barring a few) are glorified iphone games sold for at least $40 a pop. If you want recommendations then bonelab and Amid evil are top picks.
the quest hardware is not exceptional, its literally a mobile chip and is supposed to run full scale VR games (something which is more graphically intense then flatscreen) hence why they look like shit mobile games. But as you highlighted the game selection of the quest is not that good and that is mostly due to its hardware limitations and while a lot of people point out that the switch is also limited in its hardware, its not lacking on games due to Nintendo carrying the weight of the first party exclusives.
The Quest performance is actually abyssmal. When the devs make the games for it and PC and PSVR at the same time they have to actively castrate the game or it will run like shit. Keep in mind also that the fps drops are absolutely more painful than the normal games and can lead to you actually feeling sick.
I burn CDs because I pirate PS1 and 2. And at least I KNOW what a CD is and I'm gen Z. It's still a thing, just not nearly as popular and sort of became irrelevant once you could download an infinite amount of music off the web.
27:25 THANK YOU EDITOR, i think pyro forgets that these games wont look godly if you compare it to the likes of new PC games, like how we dont compare an Xbox 360 to current gen in terms of graphics because the tech just wasn't there at the time, so when games look good, pyro calls them shit for no reason
I don't know why I thought the type of presentation that was going to be shown were going to be PowerPoint presentation. This is what happens when you missed your daily intake of slop.
I wouldn't really say so, developing a VR game is a lot more resource intensive than a PC game so triple A studios have a big edge over indie on this part
@@shalvei_except for meta bought studios, there really isnt anyone big making games for vr. Valve makes one game in 20years, The grid racing game is one of the worst atrocities ever released and the new assassins creed by ubisoft looks like a flop. the rest of the vr market is indie developers
As a VR user i love I expect you to die. It’s so fun to just screw around and a lot of the secrets are rather creative. There isn’t much to do once you have gotten everything but it’s extremely fun for the hours you’ll get out of it
I genuinely got so hyped for I Expect You To Die 3 For me it’s a series I’ve been following, and while it is just funny haha puzzles I love finding secrets and the game has decent story with great dramatic scenes, it doesn’t look good on the surface, and it takes a bit to get attached to the game, but I love it
Also IEYTD is arguably one of the msot fun games there. Yeah once you beat em all you can do is beat your times and look for achievements but the ame itself is really well done
"Let's take a peek" has the same energy as a Devolver presentation. It's like these people never learn, even when they are being mocked the world over they just stick with this corporate PR bs speak
