This van life episode we visit the place we got engaged 5 years ago when we started travel vlogging. Cesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic is a fairytale city but our engagement story doesn't match with Alex doing it drunkenly in the pitch black. We were doing a camper van trip with Spaceship campervans across Europe at the time and was our first real taste of vanlife. This 2 part episode we go over memories from the past 5 years of full time travel and explore the beautiful Czech city.

Emma driving like a mad woman thru the streets and Alex complaining that he can't reach the ticket machine (insert small hand joke). Other than those bits of humor I'm glad you got to go back and reminisce on a great memory. The fact that it was in the dark adds to the originality of Alex choosing that way to propose. Cesky krumlov is really romantic and one of my favourite towns in Europe. Great video, makes me reminisce too about my wife and I dating each other around the country and we had particularly fond memories of Cesky Krumlov.

I haven't been able to visit the Czech Republic like I usually do with my family to visit my mom's side in Prague in the summer for a few years now, and seeing the scenery here brought back some memories that I had half forgotten about from when I visited Český Krumlov. It really gives a feeling like no other, and I really hope to be able to travel to Europe again sometime soon, I never realized just how ____ it feels to not travel there for a while. ( I really can't think of any word to describe the feeling, I guess it's just kind of an "If you know, you know" type of situation) Either way, thanks for the wonderful series. Great vid. "Before Sunrise" is a great film!! But so obscure, have never found anyone thats seen it 😂😂. My proposal story just as romantic lol, went away to Longleat and stonehenge for weekend, as we unpacking in hotel, he on his knees ( as in both) and kindof throws me the ring out of his bag, and says" Is it a yes"🤣🤣 ( of course it was) 😁😁 13 years later we are still engaged 😍😍 and very happy together. X

It IS a beautiful place! And you get extra points for originality, Alex! I first started watching your channel when you lost your van (Frank?) in the fire in the US. I have since gone back and watched a lot of your posts because you are SUCH a sweet, funny, and REAL couple! My son-in-law proposed to my daughter whilst they were in Rome, overlooking the Castel Sant'Angelo and they are always saying how hard it is to "top that" as far as him trying to be romantic. Between Covid and him suffering from Stage 4 Lymphoma, as well as being on dialysis from his PKD (end-stage renal failure) the last few years, those travel memories have had to sustain them through all the rubbish! I'm happy to say they have been together for 11 years, married for 5, and not only is he cancer free and had a transplant in January, but after 7 unsuccessful tries last year with donor sperm, he has recovered sufficiently so they are expecting their first child in April! I've seen what a great team they make in the many doctor's offices and hospital stays. But when they travel, they really play and have fun, much like you and Emma! I'm trying to persuade my daughter to make a RU-vid channel and I'm definitely going to tell her to watch this video in particular. I lived in England for 3 years back in the stone ages (the 80s!) when my late husband was in the US Air Force. He was stationed at RAF Lakenheath in East Anglia and we loved traveling to Europe while we lived there in the UK. The travel bug bit me hard and since then, I've been to 10 countries, and 48 states, including Hawaii, where I lived and taught Special Education for the last 5 years until I came back when Katrina and Branden were going through all his health problems. We are planning a cross-country move from Oregon to Virginia Beach at the end of October. It will be his first road trip and Katrina's and my first since we drove from Chicago to Seattle before flying to Hawaii. Thanks again for all your lovely, fun videos, Beans Out!

Just before you brought it up, I'm thinking that this scenario reminds me of "Before Sunrise" (also a favorite of mine). Now you two will need to make a pact to meet at the Cesky Krumlov train station on the same day, next year. It will make for loads of new video content!

The bears in that enclosure make me feel very sad and angry at the same time ...No respect for the other species is my biggest pet peeve. That and littering and anti social behaviour. ....

What a beautiful place. Thanks for letting us stroll down memory lane with you. I agree, traveling and experiencing other cultures really is educational and I feel more like a whole person than before. I have also experienced romance with someone I met while traveling. The attraction feels so much more powerful when meeting under those circumstances.

After the World War I, the town was a part of the Bohemian Forest Region which was initially declared to be part of German-Austria. I’ve been to that town...had breakfast in some little shop that was cute but all they did was smoke and drink coffee it was cute but gross at the same time
