This wasn't one of my gigs, but back in the early 90s, I went to a GWAR concert and there was some guy that had on a leather jacket with razor blades all over it. I have no idea how he even got it in. He somehow got on stage and dove into the pit close to where I was. Odorous Urungus (the singer) saw him, stopped the show and had the guy kicked out. More than a few people had to go to the hospital for some bad laceration. Surprisingly, everyone was pretty chill and as soon as the last one was carted off in an ambulance he asked the crowd if we wanted to continue. After a resounding hell yeah, the finished the concert. Weird ass band, but fucking decent dudes!

To put it in context, I Prevail opened up for BMTH at Jakarta Beach City International Stadium on November 10 and supposedly 11. I Prevail’s set went smoothly from start to finish. The riot started during BMTH’s set. They had to stop during their set due to safety concern of the stage. That’s when things went wild

After Pearl Jam broke big, I was at a show at they opened for Neil Young at the world renowned Gorge Amphitheater. When the show started people charged the stage through a chain link fence, and people were literally jumping off 20 ft rock cliff faces to move down. It was absolute insanity!

i was at the show in jakarta and i saw the whole thing happened. it is embarassing to see such things. the crowd mentality is out of hand and it’s fucked up what happened to us who paid but it doesn’t allow the shit we started. i hated seeing it. especially what happened to the drum kit :(

Saw Iron Maiden the opening day of Ozzfest 05 in Mansfield Mass. Half the crowd started throwing full bottles of water through the air, when the water ran out and bottles wouldn't fly people started ripping up chucks of the lawn and throwing that for a bit, that was crazy!

I remember being at a festival where Municipal Waste was playing, they had these HUGE high stack speakers stacked up what looked to be 50 feet high on each front corner of the stage. I saw one guy climb up the back of one and jump off into the crowd, doing a perfect front flip. Then half a dozen people ran up the stage and started doing it, and it created this near endless stream of people jumping off of the speakers into the crowd as the giant speakers rocked back and forth, threatening to topple over onto everyone, so these big security dudes just walked under them and started catching people as they fell and shoving them out of the show just like that. It was hilarious to see people's faces as they realized they landed in the arms of a bouncer.

Dude standing next to us passed his prosthetic leg up through the crowd to the stage where it was handed to Phil Anselmo. He held the leg for the rest of the song. Photo ended up in a mag a few weeks later.

Alright story time! I have played for a big sponsored skate event at a park with red bull girls everywhere, played a show where 1st a dude got naked, then a girl got naked, and then someone though a folding table into the drop ceiling of the bar, bar owner stopped the show, Opened for U.S. Bastards, and one time play a bar with a clear garage door on the front so when the bar tender wasn't looking our singer opened the door so we could blast the song into the street took 4 songs for then to notice. 😂

At a Sepultura gig in 96 someone jumped off the balcony and landed on my head. I fell over and the guy ran off, and the security guys tried to throw me out, thinking I was the jumper. Luckily they believed me and all was good

Sheeee-it, NOFX get so many shoes chucked at them that they named a damn album after it. But that's par for the course for gigs like theirs. In all fairness, though, I can understand why musicians at more subdued (relatively speaking) concerts would be irritated by a single errant shoe whizzing by. (But not returning to a city because of it is pretty lame.)
