Great video Victor , I really like the Factory you sold me ! I have about 350 miles on it so far .I've got to keep my passages pegs and want to get an exhaust . I'll call you soon, William F.
Feedback/tips from a Tuono owner: 1. I have the base version in lava red, bought before the factory was announced. I've had my IMU on order through my dealer since April LAST year 🙃. Be mindful if you plan on buying a base that you can get the parts. 2. I highly recommend getting the PUIG windshield if you plan on highway riding a lot, I bought it think it wouldn't do much but there was a notable difference in the amount of air that hits your upper chest (at 6'2"). 3. The base model does not come with a swingarm guard, anothing highly highly recommended piece. 4. Tighten your mirrors down! Nothing like fighting a mirror that loosened on the highway. 5. I dont know if its just me, but the seat pushes you quite far forward, jewels against the tank. It really locks you in there and find myself pushing the dual rear airbags back a lot. Its still way more comfortable than any sport bike, but does feel on the small side compared to the bigger V4s seat. Hopefully this helps someone!
Regarding the seat - this bike is not ideal for anyone above 6.0ft (186cm). I've heard many ppl say this and after getting this bike, I can only confirm it. I am exactly 186cm and I swear that anyone taller than me will have big troubles fitting on that bike. It's still just a 660 and it weights only 186kg wet, so this bike is definitely not suitable for anyone taller than that.
Cool side by side comparison! For me the Factory wins my heart overall. Its a no brainer. But I can see multiple reasons why someone would choose the “base”. Can’t go wrong with either.
@@Victor_Moto Agreed! If one would want to gut the bike and add their own upgrades the base is the way to go. I could see myself using the Factory as a commuter/daily ride, but man do I love my RS660 😄
Great video. Honestly unless someone is hell bent on the Acid Gold colour. It makes perfect sense to go for the Tuono Factory. Especially since you could pay well over 2k to near 3k just to upgrade your 660's suspension to match the Factory model. The only thing I'd change on the Factory is the exhaust and still come out cheaper than upgrading the base model and then adding a exhaust to it. Then again I'm kinda leaning towards the Ducati Streetfighter V2 as my next bike.
Awesome video thanks for the breakdown I’m coming from a 2020 ninja 650 which was my beginner bike and I’m currently trying to decide between a Tuono 660 and the RS 660
Just a quick note - They do NOT have the same engine. Base model is tweaked to 70kW (95bhp), that means it can be cut to 35kW version for A2 (in Europe). Factory version is actually 73,5kW (100bhp) so it's NOT possible to cut it to 35kW for A2. This can mean a significant difference for some people.
Even in that circumstance they are still the same engine. It's just the base model can have the electronics modify to cut that five horsepower. Throttle bodies etc. The engine itself still exactly the same.
Really good informative video! I have a 2021 Tuono 660 “Base” and the upgraded seat cowl came with it. Looks super bad ass! Love the bike! Very sporty and comfortable.
In the Uk The factory comes with 100BHP as the base model 95BBHP, I have the factory version and it's the ride of your life. I think either or , both bikes are amazing.
Victor great video I own a 2022 RS660 Apex black with the SC project full titanium exhaust w/carbon fiber tip CRT-1. Love the sound of that parallel twin. I wouldn’t have it any other way. But you are correct that there’s only one mode that could be adjusted out of the three street modes and one out of the two track modes. Great video keep them coming. 🔥💯💥
Another great video indeed Victor. As always Well reviewed. Just like you said the factory model is the better choice. I got mine a week ago. The thing is I like the black-red colors of the basic model and I was wondering whether it’s possible to install the red-black fairing and graphics etc. of the basic model on the factory one. What would be the complete set of fairing and decals I would have to purchase? And where would be the best place to order it online?
Thanks! The red parts of the base model are only around $200 each or less. You might be able to trade with someone too. We can order the red parts for you if you'd like. For that, email my Parts Manager Shae at shae@motoclubsantamonica.com.
I came here for the most important thing - the comparison of the acceleration and the different gear Setup. Good Video, but this topic is not in the video and its the most important difference beside the suspension. Can you tell something about it? Does the factory feel much faster because of the shorter gears?
Slightly better acceleration at low end only. Otherwise, not a huge difference. Easy mod on a base model Tuono 660 too. If I had a Tuono 660 Factory, I'd add one tooth to the rear sprocket as well (and the same to the base with a 16 front sprocket).
Good vid bro, I didn’t know you are in CA i need to get the both the IMU and QS for my base tuono ill reach out through email. Are you able to order the seat cowl in read like the one off the factory bike?
I see the order, thank you! Looking at the OEM solo seat cover on the Factory, it's considered a Spare Part and each small part is sold individually. With availability concerns in mind, I think ordering the accessory black version and adding custom red decals would be easiest and quickest.
Nice video, I've owned it for 5 months, great bike, have a quickshifter installed immediately upon purchase very good amazing. the only problem with aprilia is resale value, after 5/6 months €3000/€4000 loss, bizarre lot of money to compare Japanese brands
@@Victor_Moto Ok, thank you for the response. Nearest one is nearly two hours away... the worst thing about buying an Aprilia. Everything else is great
