I learn map positioning by dying several thousand times in various locations until i figure out not to go there anymore.

eh i just drive down the middle and see what happens. remember the #1 rule of team pvp games, the sooner you die, the sooner you can distribute salt and hatred among your people

First battle, typical claus blames the VK for moving away from the ridge line, but as soon as you were spotted by the WZ on lake road, they knew the VK was on his own and double rushed him. watch the minimap, they don't come over ridge line mid valley until you take on the WZ. It wouldn't matter where he was in that area he was always outnumbered. The only thing the VK could've really done was fall back into base when you went lake road, but he wouldn't have really known what your intentions were at that point.

A lesson I keep forgetting is not to rely on team mates, hide behind them yes, but assume they're tomatoes otherwise. Sometimes the standard of play in a tier 10 battle might as well be tier 3.

Klaus you should have waited until you are no longer spotted before you retreated on that ridgeline. You actually made it obvious that you were retreating allowing the enemy team to know the VK was all alone

I find that switching map positions mid game occasionally helps provided you do so surreptitiously without blundering into hidden dangers while doing so.

The second game pretty much describes why you cannot go wherever you want. At least when you want to serve your team and win. There are some crucial positions for all the different types of tanks to take to put your team in an advantageous situation. Some of those positions need to be taken very early in the game i.e. by light tanks, some need to be blockes i.e. by heavy tanks.and some need to be covered by tank destroyers. That is map positioning. But you will not find that here. Thats just a fun channel.

As a WoT noob, map awareness and positioning is a real challenge for me - I just don't know where to go on unfamiliar maps. There are a few maps that are somewhat familiar, but I mostly seem to get destroyed/lose a lot. My highest tier is 6, and I usually get matched against Tier 8s with 3 Artys...It is very difficult to survive a game, let alone do well. Your videos help me to understand the game better. Thank you.

Hey Claus, just something I noticed at 6.40 was getting lit and then relocating. The enemy can see you pull away. I would suggest waiting 10 seconds to become unspotted and then move. The enemy may well stagnate a while longer.

Very much SteelGutsInTN's philosophy. Be patient and survive, be there at the end and you can make the difference between a win and a loss. What a difference it would make in the game if everyone thought about surviving and more importantly, help each other to survive. Maybe a message from Claus to the VK player in the Lakeville game to stay put might have helped make for an easier victory. Just saying!

Sometimes the best map position is the garage. Had to take Brave Sir Robin as in game name- running away comes naturally

On lakeville you should have waited 12 seconds before you changed position so the enemy team wouldn't be aware you moved.

Good video Clausman, Translation: I’m mostly a muppet and need to be told how to play this stupid game. Thank you, But one thing I have learned here is you have to play a tank with a bad-ass gun that can mostly “one shot” an enemy to get them out of the game.

I like that strategy of where can I go that won't help my team lose. :)

Claus, if you share your strategy with your teammates in chat, it could help them adapt to the situation.

Fast havies really got an edge over the slower ones. Mainly because armor became useless.

i am having another fantastic day ..i just had a game where i fired 5 shots from my scorpion g and i knocked out 1 tank and got hits and it was credited as they happened then at the end i checked my placement and it said 1 shot and no hits no tanks knocked out ..lolllol ..amazing how that happens. i must have filed a complaint on one of "their " players .. 5 games now in a row says at the end no hits even thou i hit them dead center.. oh yeah in that game with 5 shots that didnt happen they even charged me the resupply for them shots that didnt happen

Whenever I leave a bad position, the enemy seem to push through it 30 seconds later, making my new position the bad position.

I think the super hellcats were being played by the same person. That’s why the one at the back of the map only started playing when the one on the centre road died. Just my opinion.

Why at the end of the last battle would you rather rely on the artillery making a clutch shotgun / splash damage kill when you have an autoreloader and 4 rounds in the reverse situation? Seems like the arty had the right idea to go first.
