Wellllll you can’t really blame the c-suit for the investment strategy of people, what you can do however is how they structure the company with “projects” and middle management + bonus for maintaining a higher share price. Honestly there should be a black list for anyone going to the higher director (c-suit level)

Well you should be able to expect about the same marginal returns for the same or more money a more important problem is that publicly traded companies care about 5% this quarter and next quarter and ignore next year let alone the next 5 years or 10 years later

Id say you are already on the right track not having an dnd beyond account. I would recommend buying non hasbro games and supporting the smaller companies that actually care about their customers. That is if you plan on buying rpg supplies.

Honestly, because WotC has invested their ENTIRE effort and future into the upcoming VTT, if you have never had a Beyond account, you don't have a voice as far as they care.

The only way a new OGL would be acceptable is If it allows more stuff but they still should not be able to revoke OGL the court is too risky for them probably

Pathfinder 2e

Well, the people that own Warhammer 40 K, games workshop, has had a pretty spotty past as well, also hasbro owns a majority share of games workshop. There are a ton of other games to support that aren’t owned by terrible companies. If you like the fantasy role playing dnd provides then Paizo has a game called pathfinder which is very similar. One of my favorite parts of the role playing hobby is to collect miniatures and paint them. That can be a great thing to do together as well. My personal favorite game in a very long time is called Mörk Borg. It’s dark heavy metal fantasy. It’s awesome!

For casual family play, id recommend Savage worlds.

Warhammer is just a way for you to hand over huge sums to yet another soulless megacorp. Games Workshop overcharge for everything and are best avoided. They also exclude you from competition unless you use their figures - which forces you to pay the inflated prices. There are dozens of skirmish wargames rules and hundred of miniatures companies. Please, pick anything but Warhammer. That said, Warhammer is about as much of a substitute for D&D as chess is. There are plenty of RPGs that aren't D&Dvand, almost, all of them are better. If you are playing as a family then it doesn't matter if you pick a less popular system as you won't need to find players.

It won’t effect Magic but it would effect printed and online dnd. They have already walked it back but they have done irreparable damage to their brand.
