These feat videos will be gold for the new game. They apply to anyone playing who doesn't already understand the mechanics of these feats intimately and the level of consideration you give to each feat seems to be as thorough as possible. Well done, sir.
Thanks for this, most in-depth discussion on feats I’ve seen! Question on Metamagic Reach- does this work with Magus spellcasting? Can I use throwing axe/javelin and a touch spell that becomes close (shocking grasp) and do damage from a close distance? How about a longbow or something ranged?
21:00 Combat casting is useful if you want to cast in melee. YOu have to make a defensive casting check to see if you provoke an attack of opportunity, before you even have to worry about whether or not you keep the spell after getting hit by the attack of opportunity. If you succeed at the defensive casting check you won't even provoke an attack. I won't go into the math here, but the Magus class at least is balanced so that they won't ever fail the defensive casting check once they get greater spell combat, so they don't really need it. However other classes might, Clerics for example don't get anything like greater spell combat... ?, so if they want to cast high level spells in melee (the defensive casting check DC is something like 15 + 2x the spell level), like heal, then they might want combat casting to stay safe when doing so.
I took that feat at level 1, only realized how combat casting worked when Ember tried to cast a spell, and got blown up by 3 attacks of opportunity... I was very glad afterwards that I took it.
Added some time Stamps for ya. Didn't think it made sense to break up timestamps for each of the Metamagics or the Spell Focus/Greater Spell Focus or Elemental/Greater Elemental Focus picks so they each have one category for them. Hope this helps!
