O M G, to that ammount of resources you need, tbh you will spend waaaaaaaaaay more time grinding in wotv than anyone ever would on gold saucer in ff 7 lmao
I am finding that you are absolutely right...sign me up for the Golden Saucer any day over the 120 grind. My iPad has been going fairly nonstop in the past week and I've almost 120'ed Yuna and Robb, but geez, the grind is getting ollllllllllllllllllllld. At least in the Golden Saucer, when you started to get bored with one minigame, you could switch it up from motorcycles to chocobos or snowboarding or boxing or grabber machine or etc. In WotV, it's pretty much limited to: "do I want to grind Alcrysts or do I want to grind Faint Memories?" lol Thanks for the comment @absi49!
Thanks for watching @Myles G! And thanks for being a subscriber. If there are ever any ideas or content that you would like us to cover in future videos, let us know :)
Yuna is pretty powerful. I've almost 120'ed Robb and while it now makes him usable (especially in conjunction with Yuna), he isn't in the same stratosphere as Yuna. Thanks for the comment @J Koe!

@@MonkeyHero We got a lot of free resources along with saving free vis beforehand. I did buy some paid vis as well. Some of the paid vis pulls give 100 tokens as a bonus. I used those on Yuna and Bahamut card.
True. I'm ready to start the grind on a 3rd EX unit, but there's nowhere to get the Rainbow Broadstone needed for it...yet. lol Thanks for the comment @MasoMink and thanks for being a subscriber!
EX jobs are just a way for GUMI to get people to spend more money, it does absolutely nothing to make the game better. F2P or light spenders finally get their team to 99, only to have to spend another year grinding or spend money to catch up to whales (Until Gumi releases EX jobs 2.0 next year so you can grind more). This game went from "Tactics sequel" to "just another gacha waifu collector"
Only good if you care about Arena rankings. I just play to collect, do main stories, and for the nostalgia. I will throw a dollar or two every once in a while. I've got better things to do with my life than spend hours grinding.
Actually your mostly wrong, the Ex jobs could have been way more overpowered, you don't really need them. Most games would have made ex jobs a necessity to do content, but this game has a nice balance.
Thanks for the comment @Hirus! After getting a couple of units to 120, we are inclined to partially agree with @alex lefeve. If you're going up against just one 120 unit in a squad, there are definitely ways to still compete and have success. If you're going up against 2 or 3 lv120 units in Arena and you don't have any...well, yeah...whale territory lol As always, thanks for watching and being a subscriber :)
Right now, Oelde, Oldoa, Sterne, Learte, & Baelo are fairly useless to go after in terms of EXing. Mont was already a borderline useful unit in certain modes (especially in Class Matches with cost reqs), so EXing him can be worth it (for the time being). Robb isn't really worth EXing, UNLESS you EX Yuna and max out Bahamut, then he becomes a beast. Obviously Yuna and Tidus are ridiculous at 120, but while their value is heightened right now, future EX units will neuter them a little bit (especially Tidus). Yuna is really the only "safe" EX candidate right now in our estimation for long-term value.
@@NerdNight Ty. This is the info that I needed. But I wonder why Yuna's EX is good. Is it because she's a support and supports rarely get powercreeped?
Hey guys. I've been saying this around Discord. Do you think they need to give us more ways to get Awakening Prisms? :( Between the Mastery system and EX jobs, we need way more of them now. And I'm aware they can be gotten from chocobo missions, event shops and with friend/guild medals, but even those eventually get very scarce and limited!
Tidus certainly can be a resource trap (and subsequently a $ trap) for all of the new players that Gumi was trying to attract to the game with FFX content. For new players, our advice would be to save all their vis starting now until Gumi releases Cloud and Tifa on global (late June/early July we are guessing) and by then, they should have enough resources and vis to go after them and max 120 them to compete with anybody in the game. For players who have been around a while (and subsequently already have a lot of the resources needed), Tidus can be a really good unit that can anchor a water squad.
You're welcome @Jerald Mendoza I was just mentioning in a previous comment how the new EX content might seem overwhelming and just not worth the time for the players who have been playing for 3-7 months. There are ways, however, to compete with 120 units without having any. We'll try to cook up some content geared towards that in the near future.
Im basically f2p ive spent like 40 bucks on the game since the begining... getting a max ex unit will be long but its very doable, after all there's lots of select tickets and ex mats that are relatively common to get.
Thanks for watching @Flowdane. It can definitely be overwhelming and seem hopeless as a new player who hasn't saved up the vis stash to build a 120 unit, but we would recommend saving from this point forward and target Cloud and Tifa (late June/early July release we are guessing in global). By then, you should have enough of a vis stash to target them and max their units to 120 and compete with anybody in the game.
It would be interesting to be able to see the behind-the-scenes numbers from Gumi's perspective. They were trying to get an influx of new players with FFX content (and aggressive ad content in other games) while providing vets new content, but for the player who is in-between (e.g. has been playing the game for a few months), the new EX content (I would think) might be overwhelming and drive them away from the game.
It can be @Andrew Clark. I can't imagine being a new player and feeling the pressure to have a 120 unit to feel like you can compete but not having the resources unless you drop $. "Must resist..." There are ways to compete, however, without a 120 unit (at least for now).
@@NerdNight Yeah, it’s almost bearable. The real issue is the quantities of largely un-farmable materials. The fragments of thought and awakening prisms. I know you can get them from events and mog shops but still...oh well, slow and steady.
I dont know why i keep playing this game. That is way too much shit going on. What is wrong with us? Do you know how darkly comedic it was when after you showed us how much awakening materials we need, you go in to say "... and thats not ALL you'll need to-" and i just started laughing. If gumi could like, streamline down how much there is to juggle and collect that would be so much more humane.
