YT is a different beast and it's the scraps that's thrown out to justify an argument against claim of bias from them, so your point is my point too! I mean, the man has never actually held a real job before in his life so it kinda makes sense. He wouldn’t know what it’s like to sign a check, only what it’s like to cash one. I remember hearing Rick talking about Bernie a year ago and he said that as a former GOP strategist Bernie was a dream come true *for people in his old job* because he is so easy for Trump to oppose - all the problems he had with Bernie were unrelated to personality and came down to the fact he thought trump had a chance of beating Bernie by comparing him to failed socialist states

He knows how to play the system, and if he were to win a second turn, he would turn his back completely to any democratic principles, he would pretty much do whatever he wants regardless of what the constitution says. The only reason he is loosely and kind of playing by rules is because that would be the only way to win. Dictators everywhere normally get elected at first and then, refuse to leave power and the brainshawed ones support the new dictator.

Yes, hearing that they would support Bernie Sanders gives me more security in feeling that whatever they do post Trump will not just be in the interest of resurrecting the Republican Party as it existed Pre-Trump but in working to make sure the entire political process is revamped to work for the American people instead of the wealthy for a change.

I think "working to make sure the entire political process is revamped to work for the American people instead of the wealthy" is going a bit far. Considering the Lincoln Project is funded by donations, I highly doubt they would do much regarding campaign finance reform. HoshiReed's comment is on the money in the sense that it would be easy for them to support Bernie because they know they don't much to have much to worry about regarding Bernie's policy agenda even if he were elected.* Call me cynical, but I'm not sure how effective the Lincoln Project is aside from tapping into the Democratic grassroots donors that were pouring millions of dollars into even hopeless cause races like Amy McGrath's against Mitch McConnell. However, I do support efforts to purge the GOP of the demagogues, fear mongerers, and peddlers of misinformation. I just don't think the Lincoln Project is it. The Senate run-off in Georgia was proof that the most effective way to change our politics is for individuals to do the hard work on the ground to convince people to get off the sidelines. *Bernie is a traditionalist who dismisses calls for eliminating the filibuster- among other things. I think the only thing I agree with Ann Coulter on is that Bernie isn't worrisome for Republicans since he'd never get anything done, but Elizabeth Warren on the other hand...😉

And I like that they ADMIT that there WILL be arguments going forth. They pointed out the aspects of Trump that they find dangerous for our country. They aren't pretending to give up being conservative. I'm totally a Dem, and progressive but appreciate their efforts. We can go back to (hopefully, civilly) arguing next year. This question reveals how much many Americans, like the reporter, are used to think in teams and "my team, right or wrong". She's astounded that the Lincoln project guys think in principles instead which shows how rare this way of thinking is. That's really bad. While being loyal to your team is important, being loyal to your principles should always come first. If you're not, it always leads to trouble because you start denying or hushing up problems with your team. Instead of calling them out (to get your team back on the right track). Look how Trump spins every criticism of anything in the US as "Democrats tell people to hate this country". How would you expect the US to keep getting better if you're not allowed to point out things that need improvement? That's why so many people say the US is the best country on earth when it's clearly not by almost all metrics - denial.

Considering the positions the Lincoln Project co-founders have had in Republican politics, that's a pretty big deal. The men and women that have played significant roles in Reoublican politics are willing to not just cross the aisle to avoid Trump, but go a step further and support policies they completely disagree with just to avoid Trump.

I think it is sad for this country that we have been forced to chose between Trump and Biden. We are not a democracy any longer. It's not just that it benefited the rich, but that it added several trillions dollars to the debt that those of us that pay more than $750/year will be on the hook for. Of course the answer from the right isn't to take advantage of the "greatest economy of all time" and get serious about responsible spending, but to fully fund the government at pre-sequestration levels, get nothing to show for it and when a democrat is in office again they will focus on cutting social programs "because they're fiscally responsible." And look, I fell for their pitch about how they are the "conservative ones" and responsible...if you look at the debt going back to Reagan there is one common theme...the debt explodes under Republican Presidents, the tax cuts never create jobs or "trickle down", the wage gap has grown nearly 40 fold and under Democratic Presidents we've done well...especially when you consider that they typically take over a poor economy with massive debt. The numbers don't lie.

Agreed, I recently finished 20 years paying off 42 gran in student loan debt for my master's degree in mental health. My younger coworker just told me she is making progess, down to 72 gran on hers. This made me so sad. Never imagined I would consider college might not make sense for my own kid. It used to be the ticket to elevate as descendants of immigrants, not so anymore. Don't even get me started on the 5 gran a year I pay for employer health insurance premiums but I have no actual healthcare and missing teeth. Thanks to the GOP, meanwhile 14 billion spent on election campaign. Sick.

I hate to say it, but Bernie helped. How did he help? He didn’t go after them hard enough. He was too nice. With Clinton, he was too buddy buddy in the beginning. I am a long time Sanders supporter. For me it was healthcare. My mom had cancer and we could not get healthcare because she was too high a risk, before obamacare. The right wing, both republican and Democrat rail against Bernie Sanders as if he was some Marxist clown, The reality is, if this were 1960, Bernie would be viewed as an out of touch moderate Democrat of no distinction. Since Regan, the middle of American political debate has moved so far to the right that traditional Democratic Party ideas have been lost. Where is the actual defense of the front line working man? Where is the defensed of labor's right to organize into unions? Actual challenge to the incarceration of so much of our population. I'm not radical, but my politics are to the left of most of Bernie's stated stands on issues. My real problem with Bernie Sanders is that he is really an unskilled politician. Anyone can bray about a recognized problem: very few can see the problem and build a collision to create a way to fix the problem. As unoriginal a thinker as Biden is, with how milk toast his 'liberalism' is, he is still a likeable guy, and has shown an ability to move enough people in power to accomplish some positive acts of legislation. It is a valuable skill, one we are really going to need during his term in office.

They believe Trump’s sales pitch hypnosis and I am confused why they can’t see that his behaviors are clearly in his own interests and he doesn’t care about our country, our laws or our people. Look how many people think we shouldn’t be wearing masks in public! Would you want your surgeon going mask-less while you’re on the operating table? Masks reduce transmission! To all of the commenters who write “these aren’t Republicans” or “they’re just a bunch of grifters”, I can assure you without knowing any of the four men interviewed that you’re dead wrong. As a lifelong progressive Democrat, I will be enthusiastically casting my vote for Biden-Harris in the upcoming General Election. Biden wasn’t my top pick or even in my top five, but his positions on the issues, his record and his character easily match my own preferences. In contrast, if Sanders were the nominee, I’d have put a clothespin on my nose and done my duty to vote for him but, in reality, that would be a vote against Trump and nothing more. These men regard Biden and Sanders as completely fungible candidates. That’s not my view, but it’s a view I now understand from watching this video and it’s a view I respect.

I think Bernie is too left while Biden is a moderate. Those who have been indoctrinated by Trump have learned to hate and suspect as total evil some of Bernie's policies which would have caused votes. Personally, I liked most of the Democratic candidates but it is a matter of who could best beat Trump and I think a moderate is essential for it best pulls in Independents and center Republicans. This race is actually pretty close. Hilary's lead meant nothing on election day. It could go the same way for Biden. What I'm saying is this is no time to gamble. We need the Senate too. Four states are a toss up right now, leaning blue but could easily go the other way on election day.

Bernie couldn’t win a primary. I like Bernie but he doesn’t have enough people backing him. The right person with the same ideals as him will come along.
