Age old question, what is quality worth? Is it worth spending 10, 20 or $30,000 more on a higher end product? A friend bragged that his trailer is twice as big as ours for the same price, yet his trailer is falling apart and our is as solid as the day we bought it in 2018, and our used resale value is much higher than his.
Thanks for the review. The plastic fender flares could be corrected by the supplier with a few additional ounces of resin in a few critical locations for a few dollars and not expect their loyal customers to replace the part every few years. It says a lot about the RV industry's lack of respect for their customers. It seems that their corporate philosophy is to slap them together and hope they last past the 12 month warranty period and the RV Industry Association does not object to the shoddy RV's.
Just bought a 42' alliance and really appreciate your honesty and commitment to continue with the brand despite it's flaws. I have heard from a few alliance owners that they seem to actively correct their mistakes through future models and may have just had a bit of a rocky start when they founded the company. Here's to hoping!
Thanks for the review as we are looking at a new model in the access series. It has a rear kitchen which gives me pause. In my experience with my current fifth wheel, the rear gets a lot of bounce and vibration from the less than smooth roads along our travels. How has your kitchen appliances, plumbing and contents inside shelves held up?
Is the art next to the dinette by Gordon Wheeler? He has a gallery in Charleston, SC and that piece is similar to his work. Great honest review of your Alliance too.
Really disappointed to hear about the fit and finish issues and you having to add extra staples to the wall behind your toilet. Those are forgivable and easily fixed but the fact that the fridge almost dropped out is a catastrophic error on their part. At least their customer service is responsive, which says a lot.
We're in the process of buying a new 23ML and watching this scares the crap out of me! Good Lord! Aren't there ANY RV manufacturers that build a quality coach? What has happened to this country!!?? Everything is junk anymore. I'm thinking about just keeping my old Jayco Featherlite. It has served us well and, it's paid for.
Patrick - I commented on a video when you first got your Alliance and I asked about the 2 sewer hookup. After a year, how do you feel about having to connect 2 sewer outlets to drain your black and grey tanks?
Of course, now Lance has eliminated dealing with customers. So, most REV owned Lance customers have noticed that Lance has been MIA under nearly all build issues. I suspect after Alliance sells to a conglomerate, it will be bye-bye to the FIRST owners freebies.
As a Lance owner I have found "fit and finish" is usually pretty good with Lance products. But they still break just like all the others. Kind of sad considering the asking price is about twice what is was in 2018 when I bought mine.
I am truly shocked at the poor craftsmanship on the Alliance. I thought Alliance was a higher quality RV. You have many problems that to me seem pretty serious. I hope Alliance sees this video and makes the slide and fridge install right. Everyone knows they will have to change out an RV mattress, but you shouldn’t have to reupholster the bench cushions on a supposed higher end RV. Overall it’s beautiful with a super functional layout. I’m glad you’re happy with it.
Patrick, after watching countless reviews, since you bought yours, it has revealed what I call a barrage of COMPLIMENTARY advertising. Alliance really seems like a good company. But with the feel-good over the top advertising its received, it seems like they are definitely a tad over-rated. Initially it's fair to say, they have eye-catching features for sure. Azdel, shut-offs at water locations, roof material---a host of great things. I'm convinced that they have pretty much everything that people want. BUT. I really don't see how they are any better at holding up. Their schtick is their "customer service." EVERYONE loves that. But what the hell do you do after 3-4 years??? I'm going to wait till the hype cools off and buy one then. In my opinion, their cheep line is pretty plagued with issues due to cost cutting materials where the Paradigm is NOT. But with $90K+ price tags on the Paradigm units, I'll pass. So here is what we plan to do. ONLY buy the Paradigm and only buy it used!! I'm not a hater by any means...It's just that I've seen this kind of Advertising blitz before and it NEVER holds up...... certainly not for 4+ years,......... you know, after the warranty and the money paid to advertise goes away.
Camping in my 3rd year with my Avenue 32rls. Had little to no issues in over 10K miles and 60+ trips (we are not full time). Their service is still great, they still send us stuff and are there to answer questions right away. Are they the greatest thing ever, nope. After going on 3 years would I buy another, heck yes. As a matter of fact Alliance would be the only brand I would be looking at right now. Our keystone was nightmare, GD well no sense going there, Brinkley if you want a mid pro at a full pro price and still stuffed with the cheapest stuff. I guess I would look at Jayco's in a couple years we will probably go up to a Paradigm.
