Yes people: Volvo 240's DO rust! In the past, I had a few. Once I bought a mechanical sound 240 Turbo with some slight side damage for 600,-. Trunk and sills needed welding. I had never welded before; very scary job; the B post plastics started smoking and fuming badly! I admit I masked the cosmetically disappointing result with all sorts of filler. Very nice car to drive with the overdrive function. Good luck with yours!
