I'd have to to say i agreed with Hailee 100 percent until about halfway. Some were hard because it's a lose lose. I do agree with Kendra about needing more information before making a decision. I would rather be able to fly because from my experience I would rather not know what people are thinking. Some people minds aren't ok.
Remember, that 500 years isn't just happiness, it's also equal parts suffering. Nobody's going to believe you found a magic button that put you in this state, so you also have the hassle of changing identities every so often(which means dipping toes into seedier environs). Watching all family die before you, and so very many generations of friends as well. It's a bigger nightmare than most people think about. Genuinely, if it's a choice between immortality or anything similar and money, take the money. The other choice is a trap who's jaws you won't feel closing in around you for the first some odd years. Not until the boredom starts setting in. Everyone runs out of things to do eventually. If one doesn't heed this dire warning, at least make someone else join you, or you'll get lonely. There is no undo button. 😭 If by teleport you mean destroying yourself in one place and reconstructing yourself in another, no. portals are superior. I don't think your cloths or anything else you're carrying are coming with you through a teleporter. a portal on the other hand is just basically a doorway. Though the "did it hurt" pickup line would gain a double meaning if one chose teleport. Is it even really you on the other side, or just a clone with all of your memories? Mars feels like it is the easy choice, but only if you get to also have internet access on Mars. Gotta get them cat videos and such! Bonus: you get to leave all the bigots on earth while you get to explore a whole new world. They're so conspiracy brained and distrustful of tech I doubt they'll step anywhere near a shuttle. Solving world hunger is an economic issue. the only way to solve this is brainwashing all the world leaders into thinking about something other than their own bank accounts. However, eliminating all disease, that'll keep people out of the down time and financial expenses of getting sick. So that alone might actually solve the local problem of hunger here in the US, because that means nobody is getting sick and thus don't need to worry about risking being fired for taking time off. Well okay, it won't stop it, but it should at least become infinitely more rare. Fly vs mind reading: fly. I don't wanna know what crazed things are going on in someone else's head. Also, no gas requirement in gaining the ability to fly, and you get to take the shortest path to whatever destination you had in mind so less travel in general. wallet vs phone, i'd rather lose the wallet. I don't carry cash, and it's mildly annoying to have to replace cards in it, but losing the phone sucks more because auto-backup works very inconsistently if at all. Always, ALWAYS manual backup too. I have ADHD and I'm not gonna remember to do that. I'm with Kendra, definitely taking the coma option.

I am so lucky . I met my husband (to be) on the job i was a cashier at a truck stop he was 48 out of 50 states plus Canada( Flatbed truck driver). We became friends first then started dating a few years into our friendship then got married when i was 26. I am now 50 just turned back in September and we are still each others best friend. We have been together close to 30 years now.
Be a billionaire. If you think about it, why would you want to live forever? You have to stand there and watch your friends and family grow old and die. And for the rest of time you are just watching friends grow old and die in a constant cycle.

10 million now is definitely the way to go. That money could make you way more than 12M total. You could buy and rent property and make money the whole time. Net present value and inflation? That 10m now is probably worth more. Without even considering that I might not live 20 years.

My differences to you (or my choice where you disagree): Stop time: Time management is hard as an ADHD so being able to stop time would allow me to get some extra time to do stuff, although there is a risk of me stopping time basically forever and just getting stuck in hyperfocus😅 If I'm running late I could stop time to get there without needing to rush, with teleport I could still get there in an instant but still need to rush to get ready. Multi-billionaire: Living 500 years as a poor person seems like more of a punishment than a reward, also you'd basically be a young looking boomer for your entire life complaining about how things are changing too fast. Meanwhile as a multi-billiomaire (without having exploited people for it) I could change the world for the better to be more fair and less exploitative. Even if you live 500 years, you won't become a multi-billionaire unless you're exploiting people (and even then you need a good starting point to even be able to do that). Fixing diseases: World hunger is a logistics problem that I believe we are able to solve currently if we put our minds to it, but curing all diseases requires the right innovations for each and every disease, so I feel like it just does more and then we can solve world hunger ourselves (with the bonus that fixing diseases would also help against crop diseases and thus help with world hunger) City: Ideally I'd live in a place that's some size in between city and countryside, have everything you generally need within a 15 minutes cycle, large enough to have a community of people for my specific interests (board gaming) and like-minded people (LGBT+ people), but small enough to not be overwhelmingly busy and where you easily end up being alone in the crowd. Neither bumfuq in the middle of nowhere nor megatropolis. Basically where I live now. A large town or small city, or maybe even outskirts of a larger city, and since that's closer to city, that's what I pick. Wallet: I don't carry cash, all my cards are easily blockable and replacable, and it's generally going to be cheaper to replace. Meanwhile phone is expensive to replace and I'm not always good at making back ups. Never play computer games again: Although I enjoy computer games, I currently don't have a working computer anyways, whereas I frequently watch RU-vid videos. I also like board games more than computer games, and could always get a console if I really wanted to play video games. Not interested in either sport, but basketball if I had to pick: I always disliked playing football, whereas I'm more indifferent towards basketball, also I'm tall so that helps, and I once had a crush on a girl who played basketball whereas the football girls I've known have never really been my type😅 Nobel price: I'm not really into sports, and Nobel price tends to mean having made a significant contribution to science/society, whereas Olympics is just more personal accomplishment and not really contributing anything of value to society (aside from maybe keeping some people who care about it entertained) Drink like a dog: Chopsticks are still handheld, no hands eating means face into your food and munching, that seems way worse to me. Never use a plane: Already don't use either much, but I'd prefer being able to get a ride in a car (taxi/uber/friend/family/Carpool/etc.) if I need to (some journeys take insanely long with bike or public transport, and sometimes if public transport is suddenly down you might otherwise be stranded), whereas I don't really tend to travel far so everything is reachable by trains, busses, boats, and cars. Never travel: I don't have a lot of money to travel anyway, and living in a different place every day just means you can't be part of a community because you're just not there for long enough. Time travel to the past: Future is a gamble to how things will change for better or worse, in the past you can use your knowledge from the current day (back in the past that would be future knowledge) to your benefit, and you can rewind if you screw up. Fly: Because I really don't want to know what crazy shit is going on in other people's minds, plus flying is kind of a cool upgrade to your movement options. Mayonaise: Neither is gonna be good, but mayonaise is just kind of creamy and slightly tangy, whereas mustard is far more tangy and has that mustardy/wasabi type "spiciness" that just feels like you're being gassed if you have too much, that's just a sensory nightmare. Scream: I just can't seem to whisper quite right already, so it feels like that's not an option for me, although if choosing the whispering actually makes me able to do it properly I'll pick whispering. In either case I'll probably make sure to learn sign language. Private submarine: If I want to fly somewhere there's commercial planes (and often other options to get there too), submarines however would be cool to go see pretty fishies and corals and can function as transport to seaside destinations (whereas I can use various forms of land transport over land), that way I can also even better stick to the commitment of never using a plane 😉 Just don't go the Mariana trench or other deep ocean spots, you don't have to go that deep down, you can even stay near the surface if you like. Date someone I love: Both are awful, but my love is not conditional on whether it's mutual, if I love someone I'd want to make them happy regardless of how they feel in return. Meanwhile dating someone who loves me but who I don't love would probably make me feel guilty and still longing to date someone who I do love. Coma: just a year that nothing happens for you, whereas jail is a year or living in an awful place and being restricted whilst still conscious.

These are my answers, all written BEFORE hearing yours. 50K every month for the next 20 years. I can't decide between 5 sons and daughters. I would go to Mars if it was a safe trip and I would come back to Earth after no more than some years. If by stopping Time I would also stop aging, I would stop time. If not, I would teleport. I would live 500 years as a young person, because in the meantime I would be able to learn lots of things and this could also eventually lead to becoming rich and powerful. Also, since I would eventually age, I could find someone to fall in love with, as now I'm single. If I were already with someone, I would live 500 years only if also my person did as well. I would prefer to remove all diseases, because I think that, in few words, it would be easier to solve the hunger problems by ourselves. After hearing your opinion, I would remove all diseases even if it was only the human diseases, because I think (it's just my opinion!) that the amount of resources both human, money and work, to cure all human diseases are far more than those to solve hunger. The reason I don't pick hunger is also that to solve hunger problems would not solve all the food health problems that would worsen up too much. I think that it's better to live with no regrets, but if I really could, I would very tempted to go back to my childhood times because I've suffered some things during my childhood that I would prefer to fix, also because I could be able to fix them without change how what I like about my life is now. Live in the house, because I don't like boats that much. Personal taste. I don't know why, but I suffer for some strange anxiety when I'm near boats (really strange, because is not the same when I'm ON them). I think the question is "would you live ONLY in the countryside or in the city?" My answer is that I would spend my whole life in the city because the things I really like to do are mostly in the city. I would really regret never going to the countryside, but I would suffer more living only there than in the city. I would prefer lose my phone, because I think I would suffer much more problems if I lost my wallet. I've got my wallet stolen once and it was a hell experience. Never Computer Game. Partly because I like watching your content on YT😜, but mostly because YT has far more uses in my opinion. I would really suffer if I never played CP games again, especially since they are now a big part of our culture, ways to interact and who knows how many other things, but I think YT is even more of the same. Said this, there's the hope that one day that YT would be replaced by another site. So I really hope I NEVER have to make that choice. A top basketball player (YES, I'm italian and I've said it!). I'm not a great sport person, but still I prefer basketball. A Nobel price. No hesitation. I'm doing a scientific job. To win a Nobel prize would mean helping people (Olympic too, but not in the way I want), so there's not doubt. Always skip lunch. Always eat without using hand. It would be messier, but drinking only with a tounge would make your life very harder, on my opinion. Never use a plane. I love driving my car. And although it would be difficult, you can replace your plane with ships (although I don't like them as much). Never travel vs Different place everyday can be translated into "would you rather live where you are now everyday or in a different place?". Can't decide. I want to travel. But in both case I would not be able to do so. I would rather travel to the past if it meant coming back. Maybe it's a bit idealistic, but it's better to know better and learn from the past than to know the future and change your choices without proof that it would lead to a better one. Live in the Sahara. I prefer cold than hot, but on one hand in Sahara is cold at night and in the other it is a place where people can live, with some precautions, while in Antartic you'll be prisoner of bases. (after your answer: I too think that it's easier to protect yourself from cold, but the cold you have in Antartic requires a life inside buildings, while on Sahara there's chances to go out and you are more free to move). Jump very high. I can use a bicycle instead of running. If it meant however to run fast like a superhero, then run because it means reaching every place I want. Reading people's minds would be much more practical, but I think it would also make your life more difficult because it would lead you to read other people's minds even when you shouldn't. I think, especially in a close relationships, it could be seen as a form of aggression for you to read the other's mind. I'd like to have it if those who I am close are immune to it. Of course, if you can learn to not do so, it would be better, but then the other person would still live with the eternal doubt that you are doing it anyway. I would neither eat a jar of mayonaise nor mustard because I hate both of them. I would never talk again, because on the one hand I already talk too much, on the other hand you can still communicate, and last but not least, think about this: in the Middle Ages, a class of people who lived longer than anyone else, even nobles, were Templars, because they were used to taking baths more than anyone else. I like dog, but I'm definitively more a cat person. I think that having a job can't be great if you don't have a good boss at least. Or at least you can have a great job because the terrible boss is your only problem. A great boss and a terrible job on the other hand, doesn't look much better because it would mean that a great boss makes your job look less terrible. I really can't decide. I've accidentally chewed a head of raw garlic once and it was not a good experience so I would try the onion. Dating. If a possibility exclude the other forever, then there's no good answer because no one should date someone they don't love. If instead they don't exclude each other, then again there's no better answer, for me. I think falling in love is one of the best things that can happen to you, but also getting someone to fall in love with you is an amazing thing to be able to do. Jail or coma. Both can ruin your life. I would rather be in a coma for a year if there are no physical consequences when you wake up. 1 year is a lot of time, but not that much. 1 year in jail also means that when you get out you are still someone who has been in jail, so you won't be able to do some things, do some jobs, etc... If it would be >10 years, the choice would be harder, because >10 years in jail is a lot of time, but in jail you can do something to try to not completely lose those years (if you're lucky), like studying and keeping yourself healthy. >10 years in a coma are 10 years that you loose completely. You would actually be better off taking the $10 million dollars. You are going to be in the highest tax bracket either way and losing the same amount to taxes. However, you can earn compounding interest on the $10 million for the full 20 years which would be way more money in the end. I would definitely would want to be able to fly. Reading people's minds has all kinds of prosocial uses in law (who ACTUALLY did the crime? where's the evidence?) in government (which officials should we work with) in therapy (what's the real problem, what thoughts are they avoiding?) in education (where is the disconnect?) in ANY customer service role (what do they ACTUALLY want) and it would make you a better lover for the same reason. Okay so I'd take flight powers simply because I have social anxiety, meaning the idea of other people being able to read my mind and judge people is terrifying and therefore I'd feel wrong doing it to others. That's why I'd take flight and then just not fly because I'm scared of heights.

I am going to assume that the 500 year life is alone. And I could never. And I would want to read minds. That way I know who is being honest and who is hiding another side to them. Plus I can use what I find to my advantage... In a good way, not a bad way.. And I would never shower again. Only because I have a medical condition that makes me smell bad no matter what I do anyway.

This is a great question for stats majors and I'm going to ask all my nerd friends tomorrow to see how they respond. I admit that I paused the video and wrote a little code script to work it out. The simple way to think about it: if we say a 3% annual interest rate over 20 years, that $10 million would earn you $18.2 million at the end of 20 years (Pert formula). 3% is like the average long-run interest rate on government bonds, so safe assets. If you put that $10 million in stocks (average 7% over the long run, but obviously there are ups and downs) it would be worth $40.56 million over 20 years. Wild, right? That's what continuous compounding does. To put it another way, first because I'm a math nerd and we need to state assumptions, let's pretend no tax for simplicity, and also that we just want to compare which is the better investment over the next 20 years. the problem with the 500 years question is you don't stop aging. you'd just keep getting older and older without dying. so by 100 you're probably pretty frail, by 200 you'd almost certainly be bed ridden. Not to mention you have to support yourself some way for 500 years, you could never stop working even in that condition. It would be Hellish

Be in jail for a year. One downside, is a criminal record. But at least you're awake and still living an everyday life of a sort and will have memories (good and bad), instead of being out for a year and having no memory of anything for the past year + the medical issues.
Hi you two you are amazing, FYI, the Renaissance ran for about the mid 1400's to the mid 1700's and it was not that great for example flush toilets (buckets or the corner of the room) weren't common place until the 1900's. As for bathing well that was practically no existent ( no in door plumbing). The streets in most cities were ankle deep in horse poo and human waste (no sewage pipes). Sorry.

This was interesting. But I have to say you don't want to do a year in jail. First a year is not jail,it's prison time, as in state prison. You're no longer a name or a person. You're a number,an inmate. You're looked at as not even human. You're state property. I've had a scrape with the law and was in jail for 2 weeks. It still fucks with your head. You can't trust anyone. Not guards and certainly not other prisoners. It took me months to feel human and safe,and that was just 2 weeks in jail. A year in prison is 100, a 1000 times worse. The only choice, that for me, would have been obvious would have been the Olympic medal vs the Nobel Prize. I'd have taken the Olympic medal. You have to understand that Alfred Nobel was ''The merchant of Death'', a Swedish inventor, who invented dynamite and other military explosive. Of course dynamite is used in mines and roadways, but I would nonetheless refuse any Nobel Prize because of what Alfred Nobel invented and marketed to countries' military factions over the years he was alive.
