Yes it's part of the culture, when you're with a taxi driver they become part of your group, it's quite funny as a tourist but that's how it is in Armenia and Lebanon and presumably other places
totally would, though there are about 6-10 vids i havent seen yet gonna binge watch them and proceed to feel withdrawal from the lack of a wonderful view of soviet rocks and soviet birds xd
Hey comrades. For those who don't follow me on Instagram, I have to leave the country due to the crazy corona situation with borders closing every day. Bummer as I wanted to make some films here but I will be back once it calms down. Anyway I made a quick film this afternoon for you. I don't like films that 'show the sights' but I had nothing else to do all day except sit in an airport so here you go. Back soon when travel becomes easier. Stay healthy everyone!
Dude come to Arunachal Pradesh India. We will love to welcome you over here.. I'm pretty damn sure you'll be overwhelmed coz u ain't seen anything like it...
Doğancan Bediz the fact that you guys take every opportunity to say its not a genocide despite the undeniable amount of evidence provided, shows what an arrogant people you are.
I am from turkey but i accept the genocide and i am so sorry about the doings in the past not every one in turkey think bad about armenians but yes a lot of the hatered grew from erdogans regimes and his denial of the genocide just added fire to the problem. I wish two countries would be friends and i would very much like to visit there but i am a little affraid to get hate over there but anyways love from turkey to armenians love you all
When mr Bald gets quarantined at home, he will still make videos: trip to my kitchen, this toilet has no paper, my crazy soviet neighbour, i met this crazy dude in my home, etc.
Mr Bald is a true nice soul man, I don't know many RU-vidr that will invite their taxi driver to eat dinner with them. Big respect Mr !! Long life to your channel
its less likely that baldy would get, infected by covid19 . by traveling in rural isolated villages. covid19 is more likely to be in, tourist spots like ports for cruise ships and famous destinations ,beaches etc. baldys safe!
Hey Bald. I was wondering when you visit the stans. We're Soviet too, well used to be. You can find a lot of Soviet stuff there too. I'm from Uzbekistan. We have lots of abandoned buildings and bad roads that we need you to show to the world so that the corrupt government can do something about it. The system is still Soviet. You can bribe officials or anyone to do something. You'll find a lot of rich people who will be willing to show you around but don't accept their invitations. Just do your thing. That's what we love. They don't show you what they don't want the world to see. The stans for those who don't know: Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan. The stan means "the people of" some say it means land.
I always love the spontaneity in your videos Benjamin. Nothing ever seems to get you down and you see a bright side to every situation. Flight delayed or cancelled? No problem, just jump in a cab and take a tour of wherever you happen to be at the time. Always great to watch.
@@fanatxrona8329 Some of his movies. He was captivating in The Star and also I liked that TV series with Alexej Vertkov, he was in . (And also that hot scene in Driver of Miss Vera, but don´t tell anybody :D)
Amazing how bald can befriend anyone, hops in a taxi next thing you know the guy is giving him a personal tour of the country and they are eating dinner together
@@Echelon111999 It is easier if you are a foreighner in a country where people still believe in hospitality. Add some worm words in a languge locals understand and vouila
Анатолий Карабасов Yes true. If a black man comes to my part of town then everyone would show great hospitality to them and such. Because you dont see that ethnicity here. And we find them really cool :D
Thank you for talking about and paying your respects to the 1.5 million people who were murdered by the ottomans I don't know if most people would talk about that at all
@Tyler Durden How come people don't complain when Jews fought back and attacked German villages / towns ? It's called self defense. If you are to complain that Armenians did that, then don't be a hypocrite and also complain that the Jews did the same thing too. Or even take the Rwandan Genocide, same thing happened. Victims began attacking back as a self defense. Double standards is the world's worse enemy.
@Truth What! You mean by simply being Christian, they deserved to be slaughtered? Please read up on your history before making such comments. Regards, Mitch
That just goes to show how different Western and Russian mentalities are, an average Russian person would consider this behaviour rather hypocritical and impolite while everybody else seems to like this part of the video
I just cant get enough of your videos. I love the random encounters. Like, lets see where i’ll end up if i get on this bus. I think that’s a perfect recipe for epic videos indeed. Cheers from sweden.
I still remember one of the guys from (Armenian-American) summer camp driving us around in New York with Armenian music blaring out. Epic times. I am high, yes I am. (Armenians will get it.)
@@SERBIA1389SERBIA hello fellow Slav, here from Bosnia, liver is the thing here for barbecues, I would be extremely lucky if I could try Armenian cuisine.
No not worried he just cannot travel anywhere so he is taking a break while the World is in lock down. However, he could do a brief video to say that he is doing well.
@@level11gaming17 agreed and a bit unusual on mr balds channel where its normally fairly harmonious. maybe some short fused individuals are getting cabin fever which is 10 times worse than any bullshit virus. Fark me such stupidity. Bottom line mr bald needs to break his silence cos it would be good to know hes ok plus give us news on fidel and alina.
@@forestdenizen6497 I know exactly what's in it and I know fully well that no other food item has the same variety of nutrients, I still feel like throwing up even if I just smell it.
@THE TWO FINGERED BRUTE There's one certain kind of hungarian liver pate that's made of goose liver. That's the only one I actually like. The rest tastes too much like regular liver. I'd rather suckle on a rusty nail.
LOL: "I couldn't leave Yerevan without first saying goodbye and paying my respects at the memorial...." Dude...you were busy boarding a plane juuuuuuust before that! HAHAHA! Ag, we love you Mr bald!
I love it when you sit in a restaurant and describe the food you’re about to eat, it’s close to being my favourite thing from the vlogs, number one is the exploration of different Soviet bus stops
10:00 'There's one food in the world I can't stand and it's liver!' 😂 Same here Mr Bald. That's 3 things we have in common. We're from the UK, ain't got a bloody length of hair, and we hate liver. If only my girl looked as pretty as your's, I'd be happy to have 4.
My dear armenians, much love from a pontick desendant greek. Our comon past strugles sould conect as against the inhumamane rezimes of the world. Greetings
lf you suggest that the Turks were in any way complicit in the death of the Armenians during the Great War you'll find what the inside of a Turkish prison looks like in no time.
Armenia is probably one of the safest place you can be right now...all 4 of its borders are closed, they have a good health care system, and there are plenty of isolated villages you can go to just ride this thing out.
stop spreading false information. All of the borders were closed because of neghbours not because of Armenia. Armenian healthcare ranks one of the worst in the world. I understand its your country but please don't give foreigners false information.
@@warfootagee Correct, Armenia is one of the most underdeveloped countries in the region if not the one as they have bad relations with all their neighbours including Georgia expect only Iran and majority of their exports and imports travel through Iran which is in pretty bad shape right now so most probably Armenia will be the same in short time...
If I had 5 hours to kill waiting for a flight, I reckon I'd probably watch netflix and be miserable. Would be nice to have so much motivation to enjoy every moment like bald does. I suppose the reduced Armenian prices also help. I've never travelled to a country/city with a drastically lower cost of living than my own but it must be liberating.
Your content is the best. No annoying intros, ads and stupid endings, just pure content about country and its "other side", which is not shows in most travel videos.
Spontaneous things are the best in life, and so is this video also great. I liked the tour. You should keep making food videos as they are major part of culture.
There is a German series of jokes with "Radio Yerevan". It always: [Critical question] to Radio Yerevan; Answer: In principle yes (or no), BUT... Example. Is it possible to introduce a highly industrialized country to socialism? In principle yes, but it's a petty for the industry. Is it true that capitalism is on the brink of destruction? In principle yes, but we are one step ahead. Is it true that Soviet Russia censures the press? In principle no, unfortunately we're unable to comment further on that. Is it true that there are no bananas in Russia? In principle no. On Red Square is a vending machine returning 20 Rubel when you put a banana in. Do you honor questions to Radio Yerevan? In principle yes. Between 20 years and a life sentence. Is it correct that Brezhnev collects jokes about him? In principle yes. But he also collects people telling the jokes. Adam and Eve were the first communists? In principle yes. No cloths, no shelter, yet they thought they'd be in paradise.
́MrDislike Neumann These were common between late 1960s and 1980s while there were communist countries in Europe, including Eastern Germany. It’s Boomer Humour.
I always love the spontaneity in his videos. Nothing ever seems to get him down and he sees a bright side to every situation. Flight delayed or cancelled? No problem, just jump in a cab and take a tour of wherever you happen to be at the time. Always great to watch and very interesting. Hope he visits again and for a longer time.
The narrator's interest in everyday life is refreshing. Rather than going for "high culture" he stays close to the daily life of your basic resident. Much more persuasive a technique for travelers. Thanks
I like when people in the background ignore him filming himself and go about their business. It doesn't happen often yet the waiters in this at the end did just that.
@@anthonykleon1279 I am much younger than you and I've done the exact same things when I was a child in the United States. The only difference is, I never had to wait in a bread line or worry about my parents being dragged away in the night by the KGB for the great crime of disagreeing with the government. All of your comparisons are much more closely linked to the passage of time, not the governmental system. But don't let me spoil your fun. By all means, continue to reminisce about an oppressive regime responsible for the death of Millions. Some of which were likely your neighbors.
Been in armenia twice and people are so friendly. You can’t compare how beautiful armenia and georgia is as both countries have different natural beauties. Thank you for making the video to remind us how gorgeous this places is and at the same time the people. An avid fan of yours from philippines living in dubai👍🏻
Something: *exists in eastern europe from 1945-1991* Bald: *only uses soviet as a describing word* Edit: I used 1945 because most Soviet architecture was built after World War II.
Been to Armenia. The only foreign country I fell in love with besides my own country. When you go back, you should definitely visit Artsakh! And you should also try "Hash" soup. Very traditional and specific in that area :)
If he visits Karabakh he won't be able to visit Azerbaijan anymore. Not that he plans to, but you should not misguide people, this visit would have consequences for him.
@@emin1471985 When you arrive to Artsakh, you need to get a visa in some local institution (don't remember what it's called). When you get the visa, you can choose between putting it the passport or getting it separately, so as long as the visa is not in the passport he is fine to go to Azerbaijan... Of course if he posts a video about being there that's a different story. But I think it would be worth it to go there, not even making the youtube content, but just for yourself... And it wasn't my intention to misguide someone, I just really think it is a very wonderful place to visit..
